I too am thinking more about the PTRC and their deceptive framework for the pre-trib rapture. As for Luke 9:50, Whitcomb may say SOME true things, he puts truth next to error. "And in Him is no darkness at all," (1 John 1:5). "Every good and perfect gift comes down from above from the Father of lights, in whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning," (James). God does not change! He hated mixture in the Old Testament. He hates it in the New. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I do agree that creationism is important, but I find the minutiae very tedious. For me, once I believed that God created everything, that was enough! I didn't need to go beyond the veil as it were! These Creation ministries tend to go into far too much detail; trying to beat the evolutionary scientists at their own game, this they will never do-read 1 Corinthians 1.19-20. It is God that "will destroy the wisdom of the wise", not man. I was not aware that Whitcomb held to such beliefs, but there again, as I have said before, Dispensational theology corrupts God's word, so we shouldn't be surprised at what he teaches?
Having said this, I would not want this form of witness to stop (that is Creation ministry); "Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us." Luke 9.50.
Reading your piece again; is it not standard pre-trib doctrine that the two witnesses are present in the FIRST half of Daniel's 70th week? The Bible says otherwise! They are witnessing in the great tribulation-in the 1260 days ( that is the LAST half of Daniel's week?)! They will witness to the elect Christian remnant among both Jews and Gentiles!
Any blood sacrifice offered to God by unbelieving Jews cannot ever be acceptable to Him in the first part of Daniel's week-however could they be???
May God bless our studies.
There are other matters that I will raise in regard to this latest posting of yours in due course.
God bless you.colinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07132820921599851331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4103925900569325548.post-76978706155003717422015-12-17T10:37:37.008-08:002015-12-17T10:37:37.008-08:00As you say Colin the pre-trib issue encompasses mu...As you say Colin the pre-trib issue encompasses much more error than the timing of the rapture. Unfortunately I cannot trust the teaching of a man who is academically dishonest. The first requirement of any teacher of the scriptures is that he be "above reproach"(Titus 1:5-9) Where integrity is wanting then everything else such a person does is untrustworthy!

"As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, 7desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions." I would add that many forget (among us who are not pre-trib) that the pre-trib rapture theory (although it is the frontispiece of its theology, and its most talked about feature) that there is much other error beside-and we keep finding it-as Treena articulates above; please don't stop looking!
You would think it is enough that we can't find pre-tribulationism anywhere in the Scriptures, but no!

As a teacher of Biblical creationism and origins I am sure Whitcomb has done much good work. Sadly many who have come under his influence may well be led astray by his errant eschatology.
God bless.colinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07132820921599851331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4103925900569325548.post-53128363939813616922015-12-17T01:14:32.146-08:002015-12-17T01:14:32.146-08:00Dear Irv, You would think a man of Whitcomb's ...Dear Irv, You would think a man of Whitcomb's age would be worried about the consequences of his false teaching wouldn't you? It never ceases to amaze me how these pre-trib deceivers dare change the scriptures! Thank you very much for your kind words, high praise indeed. How can he keep a straight face while acting as if the 185-year-old pretribulation rapture theory is really orthodox and apostolic and Biblical? Has he never "vetted" the ones who taught him the same theory? A good start, if he hasn't, would be for him to Google articles like "Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty" and "Pretrib Hypocrisy." Treena Gisborn is to be congratulated for her steadfast love of truth and for her unwillingness to compromise with those who, for various motives, fear not to mingle truth with error. Her "Wolves in Sheep's Clothing" should be regular fare for Christians everywhere!Irvhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07634792243846422285noreply@blogger.com
