DAVE BORLASE (INTERCESSORS FOR BRITAIN) AND HIS ECUMENICAL FRIENDS!

For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14).

The ecumenical background of HEART Publications:

HEART Publications support and promote a number of "good causes". For instance, they tackle issues like poverty, abortion, anti-Semitism, gay marriage etc. HEART have all the appearance of godliness, and yet they and their associates undermine the very root of the gospel due to the defiling root of ecumenism. (2 Timothy 3:5; Psalm 11:3; Hebrews 12:15).

Vision: "To see local Christians unified and strengthened, sharing information and building trust across churches by providing a meeting place, a marketplace and forum for the local Christian community. To inform and stimulate concern about local and national issues relevant to our society." {1}

Melanie Symonds is the editor and publisher of Heart Publications. Interestingly, Melanie Symonds was previously Teacher in charge of German at St Philip Howard Catholic High School from 1999 - 2010. {2}

Clifford Hill

Ecumenist and false prophet Clifford Hill is seriously involved with HEART Publications. Hill is the Founder and the current Editor in Chief of Prophecy Today UK and he is also the Director of Issachar Ministries.

HEART Publications: "The paper also benefits from regular ‘prophetic’ articles on the state of the nation from Rev Dr Clifford Hill, a respected national minister who has joined the council of reference which helps oversee the paper." {9}

Within four years God will do this .. it is as soon as that. ..there will be a move of God by the time the Olympics come to London. We will begin to see a real move of the Holy Spirit around that time, and what a witness to the world that will be." {10}

Hill recounts a prophecy he gave at the Pavilion Bath in 1984: "Repentance and turning within three years.. I give you three years to get your house in order or judgement will fall upon this nation.." {11)

Clifford Hill's close friend and "prophet" David Noakes.

I have previously noted the questionable nature of David Noakes' first person prophesies.

Noakes: "I call upon you who are faithful to stand firm and to persevere in prayer that the work which I have begun will proceed to the conclusion which I have purposed.." {13} The "faithful" that David Noakes refers to are ecumenical. As such they are neither faithful or comparable to the "good figs" of Jeremiah 24 as he claims! The seriousness of yoking oneself with the works gospel of the RC church is inestimable. (2 Corinthians 11:4; Mark 7:9).

Both Hill and Noakes are involved with the ecumenical pro-Israel monastic order, The Sisterhood of Mary. {14}

Jacob Prasch Moriel Ministries

Be wary of false teacher Jacob Prasch (Moriel Ministries)! Prasch claims to be against ecumenism, and yet he is also associated with HEART Publications, Clifford Hill and David Noakes. {15}

Prasch: "Like Stephen Gardner (Trumpet Sounds for Britain), David Forbes, and Dennis Clark who are now also with The Lord, and yourself, Clifford Hill, and David Noakes - Stuart was a voice to this formerly Christian nation and the remains of its faithful church." {16}

Prasch's reference to Stephen Gardner (Trumpet Sounds for Britain) is incorrect. David E Gardner wrote the book The Trumpet Sounds for Britain. Prasch's reference to Stuart Doole is also incorrect. Stewart Dool was the former Director of Intercessors for Britain. I will come back to Dool later.

In 2003, David E Gardner bemoaned the fact that the Coronation Oath had been violated. Gardner made much of the significance of this ritual as if it were somehow relevant to bible believing Christians. {17} In 1946 Queen Elizabeth (then Princess Elizabeth) was initiated as a Welsh Bard (Druid) - how is that compatible with Christianity? {18} Biblically, the Coronation Oath has nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity! The New Testament says that oath taking is wicked: Do not take an oath at all.. Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil. Matthew 5:35-37).

Prasch endorses David Noakes as a "valid prophetic voice".

Noakes was a speaker Moriel's Scottish Conference at Gartmore House in November 2018.

Prasch supporters Amos Farrell (Genesis Christian Radio) and Pentecostal minister Ian Huxham (Evangel Church Sidmouth) are also part of the ecumenical clique associated with HEART. {20}

Intercessors for Britain

I was unaware until recently that Dave Borlase (Intercessors for Britain {IFB}) is also involved with HEART Publications. Borlase recently managed to get on the wrong side of Jacob Prasch due to his refusal to comply with Prasch's demands to take down David Nathan (Bread of Life Ministries). I was sympathetic with Borlase initially, and I would have supported him. However, as things stand, I cannot possibly support someone who is involved with the wicked infestation of ecumenism clearly evident within HEART Publications.

Below Borlase's false comparison between Britain and Israel:

"I am reminded that after the children of Israel had been released from Egypt, Pharaoh and his servants had a change of heart. Egypt gave pursuit and suddenly the Israelites found they were left with nowhere to turn. With the Red Sea before them and the power of Egypt behind them, they turned on Moses and wanted to go back under the power they had been delivered from. However, Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord”. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell the sons of Israel to go forward”. (Exodus 14). The way forward may seem unclear to us, but we know for sure that God will direct our paths if we seek his direction. Whatever people say and do in the coming days, let us pray for God’s direction and for his decision, expressed through the Leave vote, to stand." {21}

Ray Borlase (Dave Borlase's father and founder of Intercessors for Britain) is a contributor to Christians Together, part of the ecumenical Churches Together Group. {22}
IFB also participated in Hope 2008 which was ecumenical.

Some thoughts from a former IFB member:

"Why should we storm the heavenlies praying for our useless humanistic government when we could be praying for our church?
I read a book written by a similar organisation in Sweden, intercessors for Sweden. They believed very strongly that Christians should take their nation for Christ. If we seek to become like the church in the New Testament we must accept that that is not a Biblical precedent, that is not what happened in Biblical times. The New Testament church did not take the nation of Israel for Christ. They preached the gospel. They went to prison. Many of them died. A lot of Intercessors for Britain theology is based on verses in the Old Testament about God's judgement coming on Israel. God looked for a man who would stand in the gap, but he found none, so judgement came. We were invited to stand in the gap, we could be that man, we could stop God's judgement coming on our nation. Another favourite verse was, 'If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and seek my face and repent of their sin, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.' I would have to differ with the popular interpretation of that verse. The people of Britain are not the people of God. We cannot pray for them as if they are. We cannot repent of their sins on their behalf and demand God's judgement not to come on them. The last forty years of prayer have made no difference to the United Kingdom. There is no hope of the abortion act ever being repealed, and abortion is becoming more common every day. The homosexuals have won, there can be no hope of doing anything to hold back their march for freedom now, and we are simply picking up the pieces and begging the politicians to give churches a few concessions so that the persecution of Christians under these laws will not be quite so severe.." {23}

Stewart Dool

Christians Together: "This prophetic word was received by the late Stewart Dool (who headed up Intercessors for Britain) in the week 23-27 July 2007." {24}

Below are some excerpts from Dool's 2007 first person prophecy.

To the church and the nation of Britain.
I am about to send fire upon you, the fire of My judgment, and it will consume on the right and on the left. All who have spurned My ways and My words will reap what they have sown, for in My burning anger I will judge the gods in whom you have put your trust, the gods of materialism and covetousness. The gold and the silver will be taken from you, and your portion will be emptiness, desolation and vanity.

I will bring the stability of your currency into doubt, to show you that it is I alone who caused you to prosper in the past. I raised you to prominence among the nations and gave you authority over many peoples: so you became rich, and boasted in your wealth, but I will bring you low, and the nations over whom you once ruled will say “What has happened to this great nation?”
My displeasure will be visited upon your Government, for those who rule over you have become offensive to Me, as they have set aside My laws and My statutes, exalting the wicked and despising My holy name. You have not abhorred bloodshed, therefore the blood of your sons and daughters will lie in your streets, until you learn that as the cry of the unborn calls to me for vengeance, so I shall require it of you.

According to Christians Together, Dool's "word" was "weighed and tested by others in senior positions of ministry." I submit that since it was not feasible to test Dool's "word" by the scriptures, it was impossible to weigh and test his prophecy. However, in hindsight, thirteen years later, the events that Dool prophesied as imminent ("I am about to send fire upon you") HAVE NOT come to pass!

And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. (Deuteronomy 18:21-22)

There is no reason why God should extend special mercy and exempt Britain from the relentless evil that is coming upon the whole world, culminating in the man of sin, the Antichrist! (Revelation 3:10). These ecumenical leaders do not represent true Christianity in Britain. Brexit or no Brexit, Britain is a godless nation.

THE PRASCH MENACE!

Prasch and his small group of sycophants persistence in slandering David Nathan has now reached the point of utter tedium. If Amos Farrell and others are incapable of repenting, then it really is time they changed the record! Their continued attacks against David Nathan are both crass and vindictive considering the various false accusations against him have been successfully refuted time and again. Ironically, not one of Prasch's shameful "enabling eight" {1} has mentioned Prasch's false teaching that there will be no grace during the millennium and his agreement with David Nathan on this subject. {2} There is no doubt that Amos Farrell is a malicious witness. (Exodus 23:1).

David Nathan: “He (Jesus) is the creator. He is the one that created – but as we know from scripture, because God is a perfect unity they work as one – that Jesus did not act independently of the Father. Amen..” (12:00 mark). {3}

Moriel's latest target is Dave Borlase (Intercessors for Britain). I am not a supporter of IFB.* However, I am in no hurry to believe Amos Farrell's version of events concerning Prasch's altercation with him.

Farrell's duplicitous track record speaks for itself. Earlier this year Farrell claimed to be "Sergeant Amos Farrell Sr. Detective (retired) Scotland Yard Metropolitan Police, London (UK)". {4} I contacted the Metropolitan Police and complained about Farrell's gross inflation of his former position. Here in the UK, the rank of Sergeant is a junior position, only one rank above that of Police Constable, the lowest ranking police officer. There are no less than nine ranks above Sergeant in the Metropolitan Police! Farrell's title would have been Detective Sergeant and certainly not Senior Detective! Unsurprisingly, apart from sending me a brief acknowledgement, the Metropolitan Police have done absolutely nothing to address this matter as far as I am aware. Apparently publicly misrepresenting oneself as a retired "Senior Detective" is not an issue for them!

None of my contacts has any knowledge of Dave Borlase's alleged "rehashed version of events". The only statement known to us is Borlase's original post on FB dated the 5th of December warning about Prasch's godless behaviour. {5}

Prasch's Alleged Jewish Background

On the above video Prasch states: "I tell people my mothers family was Catholic. I tell people I had no Jewish background growing up except going to the Jewish community centre." (16:45 mark)

Prasch has in fact claimed that he has a biological Jewish background on various occasions:

Prasch: "I have two first names - James and Jacob. When I was a baby they called me James. It was Anglicised from my father's grandfather's name, Ya'kov - Jacob. It is good that I have two first names because my family is a combination of two backgrounds - Irish Catholic and Jewish." {6} On ancestry.co.uk Prasch's grandfather on his father's side is George Conrad Prasch, and on his mother's side it is Francis Joseph Connors. https://vimeo.com/330059149 (password Ancestry).

Prasch refers to the time when he was a baby! In other words, his alleged biological background is Irish Catholic and Jewish.

Prasch: "Now I grew up in the New York area and I was sent both to a Roman Catholic school and the Jewish community center. I had brit milah, plus I was sprinkled as a baby." {7}

Brit Milah [Hebrew: בְּרִית מִילָה] is a Jewish religious male circumcision ceremony performed by a mohel (a Jew who performs the rite of circumcision) on the eighth day of the infant's life.

"Jacob’s family is a combination of Roman Catholic and Jewish. (In his youth he was forced to attend a Catholic school, but also attended the Jewish Community Centre.) Jacob’s wife Pavia, also from a science background, is a Romanian-born Israeli Jewish believer.." {8}

Attending a Jewish Community Centre in his youth relates to Prasch's biological family. His wife's Jewish background is mentioned separately.

In the above video, Prasch contradicts himself and waves around some vague papers that supposedly do give him a Jewish background after all!

Prasch now says that Brasch was his original family name, and he claims that it was changed to "Ellis Island" when his family came to the United States - all documented apparently! Ellis Island? Is he having a laugh, have I mis-heard him, or is it the Jack Daniels?

ancestry.com: "Brasch Name Meaning: North German and Danish: variant of Braasch. German: from a reduced form of the Latin personal name Ambrosius (see Ambrose)." {9}

There are Jewish families in Argentina with surname BRASCH. {10} Perhaps Prasch can make something up out of that!

If Prasch has taken advantage of the Law of Return (Hebrew: חֹוק הַשְׁבוּת, ḥok ha-shvūt) as he claims, then it would be due to his wife's nationality rather than to his own supposed Jewish background. On the 5th of July 1950, Israeli law gave Jews the right to live in Israel and to gain Israeli citizenship. According to Wikipedia, in 1989 the Supreme Court of Israel ruled that Messianic Judaism constituted another religion, and that people who had become Messianic Jews were not therefore eligible for Aliyah under the law. {11} In order to establish the facts, it would depend upon when Prasch actually applied for Israeli citizenship. I challenge Jacob Prasch to publish the papers he was waving around on line so that we can verify his supposed Jewish background.

The Myth Of Lymphatic Oedema As A Cause For Non Dietary Obesity

Prasch briefly mentioned his medical condition on the video, and once again he hinted that lymphatic oedema is the cause of his gross obesity.

In 2017, Prasch blamed his obesity on "lymphatic fluid" in a video 'The Sin of Gluttony' {12}

Prasch teaches correctly that gluttony is addressed as a serious sin in the scriptures (albeit that he falsely excludes himself), and he has previously made reference to Bill Randles' obesity.

Moriel (SA): "Like Bill Randles, Jacob Prasch battles with issues of health; specifically Lymphatic Oedema causing non dietary obesity. To function Jacob is reliant on certain meds, one of which has the side effect of oral dehydration affecting salvia secretion. He is not 'foaming at the mouth' but battling a disease. Such personal attacks only evade the factual and doctrinal issues." {13}

I have done some research into the subject of lymphatic oedema as the cause of non dietary obesity. In fact it is not the case that lymphatic oedema causes obesity. Obese people suffering from lymphatic oedema are actually advised to lose weight as it is an aggravating factor. Prasch's penchant for changing facts is truly astonishing!

NHS: "People who are obese, particularly those who are severely obese, have an increased risk of developing swollen body parts. It's not clear exactly why this is, but it's been suggested that the extra fatty tissue affects the lymphatic channels in some way, reducing the flow of fluid through them. In these cases, weight loss is an important part of treatment and even just starting to lose weight can make a big difference to the swelling." {14}

Borlase's manners leave a lot to be desired!
He was very rude and hostile towards me not so long ago and he has not bothered to apologise.
A good friend of mine who is also an apologist informs me that Borlase was also very rude to him.
On the above basis I will have nothing whatever to do with IFB or Dave Borlase.

A TEACHABLE MOMENT ~ CLOSING STAGES

In the video clip above Bill Randles grossly misrepresented the facts when he claimed publicly that David Nathan taught that "the Father did not create anything" and "the blood of Jesus has no profit in any dispensation". These are blatant falsehoods! Even though Bill Randles is fully aware that David Nathan has not taught these heresies, he has made no attempt to apologise or to retract his false statements!!!

ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED?

The belief in "eternal security" aka "once saved always saved" (OSAS) is the popular doctrine that if a person is truly saved then they cannot ultimately lose their salvation. A number of teachers aggressively promote this doctrine under the false notion that eternal security is inseparable from initial salvation. Instead of teaching the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27), many teachers quote the scriptures out of context in order to validate OSAS. In contrast, the warnings are specific and overwhelming.

JUDE

For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. (Jude 1:3-5).

Some teach that the Israelites destroyed in the wilderness lost their physical lives but that ultimately they were saved. However, they ignore the context of Jude as a whole. Jude continues with the example of the angels who rebelled and were punished with eternal destruction, i.e. the same punishment as those who sinned in Sodom and Gomorrah ~ eternal fire:

And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgement of the great day— just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. (Jude 1:6-7).

Paul also refers to the Israelites that were overthrown in the wilderness: Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. (1 Corinthians 10:1-12 cf. 2 Peter 3:17 ).

Paul warned the Galatians that to fall away from grace is to be severed from Christ: You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. (Galatians 5:4).

To be severed from Christ necessitates that one must have been attached to Christ previously. Similarly to fall away from grace also necessitates prior attachment.

Meyer: "But all the admonitions, from 1 Corinthians 10:6 onwards (see, too, 1 Corinthians 10:14), have a direct reference to falling into sins, the consequence of which is a falling from grace so as to come under the divine ὀργή {wrath}(comp Galatians 5:4)." {1}

HEBREWS

The intention of Paul (the supposed writer of the book of Hebrews), was to warn believers against the danger of apostasy and to emphasise that their hope and their confidence in God must be maintained to the end.

For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless (ἀδόκιμος) and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned. (Hebrews 6:4-8).

Calvin's Influence

The doctrine of OSAS was taught emphatically by John Calvin. The Geneva Study Bible incorrectly interprets "taste" in Hebrews 6:4 as a superficial experience: "We must note the force of this word, for it is one thing to believe as Lydia did, whose heart God opened in Ac 16:13 and another thing to have some taste." {3}

However, Paul explicitly identifies authentic converted Christians rather than false professors who are not true followers of Christ. (Matthew 7:21-23). Paul reiterates his meaning in three distinct ways i.e. those who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come. (Hebrews 6:4-6).

Jesus tasted death for everyone. (Hebrews. 2:9).

Cambridge Bible: "'o taste' does not mean merely 'summis labris delibare' (their lips touch).
It is a common Semitic and metaphoric paraphrase for death, derived from the notion of Death as an Angel who gives a cup to drink; as in the Arabic poem Antar 'Death fed him with a cup of absinth by my hand.' Comp. Matthew 16:28; John 8:52." {4}

*See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven. (Hebrews 12:25).

*..but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope. (Hebrews 3:6).

Unlike Calvin's flawed theology, the scriptures teach that faith is conditional, not upon works, but upon continuing in the faith and standing firm to the end. (Matthew 10:22; Colossians 1:22-23).

Calvin on Hebrews 3:6 - "The elect are also beyond the danger of finally falling away; for the Father who gave them to be preserved by Christ his Son is greater than all, and Christ promises to watch over them all so that none may perish. To all this I answer, That God indeed favours none but the elect alone with the Spirit of regeneration, and that by this they are distinguished from the reprobate; for they are renewed after his image and receive the earnest of the Spirit in hope of the future inheritance, and by the same Spirit the Gospel is sealed in their hearts. But I cannot admit that all this is any reason why he should not grant the reprobate also some taste of his grace, why he should not irradiate their minds with some sparks of his light, why he should not give them some perception of his goodness, and in some sort engrave his word on their hearts. Otherwise, where would be the temporal faith mentioned by Mark 4:17? There is therefore some knowledge even in the reprobate, which afterwards vanishes away, either because it did not strike roots sufficiently deep, or because it withers, being choked up. [98]" {5}

*For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgement, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:26-31).

Barne's Notes: "..it is the natural and proper meaning of the word rendered here 'sanctified.' This word is commonly applied to Christians in the sense that they are made holy; see Acts 20:32; Acts 26:18; 1 Corinthians 1:2;" {6}

Further Scriptures:

*And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes (πιστεύων) in him may have eternal life “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes (πιστεύων) in him should not perish but have eternal life... (John 3:14-16).

The present active participle πιστεύων is a progressive present i.e. a continuous action. According to Greek theologian Daniel B Wallace, everlasting life is a continuing progressive experience, leaving the inescapable conclusion that continual belief is a necessary condition of salvation:

Wallace: “The present was the tense of choice most likely because the NT writers by and large saw continual belief as a necessary condition of salvation. Along these lines, it seems significant that the promise of salvation is almost always given to ὁ πιστεύων [the one who believes, present tense] … almost never to ὁ πιστεύσας [the one who believes/believed, aorist tense] (apart from Mark 16:16, John 7:39, and Heb 4:3 come the closest…)” {7}

*John 10:27-29 is commonly employed in support OSAS, but note that the verbs in verse 27 are present active indicative.

27-My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28-I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29-My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:27-29).

*Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. (John 15:4-6).

*1 Corinthians 9:27 ~ lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified (ἀδόκιμος) [castaway KJV].

castaway, Gr. ἀδόκιμος - worthless / rejected / reprobate. {2}

Some teach that 1 Corinthians 9:27 applies to various rewards given to Christians at the Bema seat of Christ (Matthew 25:14-23; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 22:12), due to Paul's reference to "the prize" in 1 Corinthians 9:24 ~ They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. The perishable wreath Paul refers to is the crown of athletes competing in the Grecian games. It should be noted that the incorruptible crown, also referred to as the crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8), and the crown of life (James 1:12; Revelation 2:10), is promised to ALL true believers. *Note also the ruin of the wicked and slothful servant: And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Matthew 25:24-30 cf. Revelation 3:11).

Coffman: "..the crown of righteousness at the last day will endow all who are truly 'in Christ' with the sum total of our Lord's own righteousness. Analogous expressions are 'the crown of glory' (1 Peter 5:4) and 'the crown of life'" (James 1:12; Revelation 2:10)." {8}

*For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.. (Romans 8:13-14).

Paul is addressing those who live according to the Spirit. He continues ~ nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.. (Romans 8:35). The assurance is for those ..who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:4).

Matthew Poole: "If ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; viz. eternally, and never partake of the glorious resurrection before spoken of. The godly themselves need this caution; they must not think, that because they are elected and justified, &c., that therefore they may do and live as they list." {9}

*..faith apart from works is dead. (James 2:26). This is not "works salvation". James explains that works are the evidence of faith. (James 2:14-26). Without the evidence of accompanying works, professing Christians cannot claim that they are truly saved. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. (Matthew 7:16-20; 12:33).

*So he told them this parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbours, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. (Luke 15:3-7). *Note: Although Matthew 18:12-14 omits repentance, it is conditional ..And if so be (ἐὰν γένηται) that he find it.. (KJV). Vincent Word Studies: "If it should so come to pass. God's grace is not irresistible." {10}

Luke amplifies the same theme in three separate parables, [1] the lost sheep [2] the lost coin [3] the prodigal son. All three parables in Luke stress the necessity of repentance as essential to returning. (Luke 15:7,10, 18-19).

*For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.” (2 Peter 2:19-22).

Peter refers to those who have escaped the defilements of the world.. an impossibility for anyone who is not genuinely converted. This verse refers to those who have been cleansed from their former sins. Everyone outside Jesus Christ is defiled by sin (including false believers).

* But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 24:45-51).

Wesley: "But if that evil servant — Now evil, having put away faith and a good conscience." {11}

*..hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the Day of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 5:5).

Most scholars agree that Pau's goal is the final salvation of the man on the Day of the Lord. The intention of this sinful man's excommunication was chastening, by handing him over to the realm of Satan, so that he would repent and that he may be saved on the Day of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 7:10).

Barnes: "That the spirit may be saved - That his soul might be saved; that he might be corrected, humbled, and reformed by these sufferings, and recalled to the paths of piety and virtue. This expresses the true design of the discipline of the church, and it ought never to be inflicted but with a direct intention to benefit the offender, and to save the soul. Even when he is cut off and disowned, the design should not be vengeance, or punishment merely, but it should be to recover him and save him from ruin." {12}

Calvinist John Gill: "..for the destruction of the flesh; that is, that his body might be shook, buffeted, afflicted, and tortured in a terrible manner; that by this means he might be brought to a sense of his sin, to repentance for it, and make an humble acknowledgment of it: that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus; that he might be renewed in the spirit of his mind, be restored by repentance, and his soul be saved in the day of Christ;" {13}

Mark Dunagan: "'may'-the 'destruction of the flesh' and the 'spirit being saved', are hoped for results. This is a key word to understanding the whole verse. Withdrawal can take place and neither result happen. Since the 'spirit being saved' depends upon the attitude of the sinner, therefore, the 'destruction of the flesh', must be something that the sinner being withdrawn from must allow to happen in their life.." {14}

*Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared.. (1 Timothy 4:1-2 cf. 2 Timothy 4:10).

*As God's fellow workers, then, we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. (2 Corinthians 6:1).

*Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. (Hebrews 3:12).

*..to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:4-5).

Ellicott: "Through faith.—The Apostle is fearful lest the last words should give a false assurance. God can guard none of us, in spite of His 'power,' unless there be a corresponding exertion upon our part—which is here called 'faith'—combining the notions of staunch fidelity and of trustfulness in spite of appearances. It is through such trustful fidelity that we are guarded." (1 Peter 1:5). {15}

*And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. (1 Chronicles 28:9).

*Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. (Deuteronomy 29:18).

*Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a harmful spirit from the LORD tormented him. (1 Samuel 16:14).

*Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. (Psalm 51:11).

*He who dwells (yo·shev) in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1,9,14).

*Because you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not grieved him, and you have encouraged the wicked, that he should not turn from his evil way to save his life, (Ezekiel 13:22).

*So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth! (Revelation 3:16).

*For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:24). The previous warning about spiritual deception are to no purpose if it is impossible for "the elect" to be deceived ~ See that no one leads you astray. (Matthew 24:4).

Eschatological Implications

The false doctrine of eternal security is linked to apostasy, both generally, as in the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:20-21), and the mass falling away during the great tribulation. (Matthew 24:10).

OSAS is often taught in tandem with the pre-tribulation rapture position. These reckless false teachings render the severe warnings of the scriptures ineffectual. Those Christians who are confident that they cannot lose their salvation under any circumstances are in danger of doing just that. (1 Corinthians 10:12). Now is the time to prepare for the unprecedented persecution of the Antichrist. If professing believers become offended (Matthew 24:10 KJV), and fall away during the great tribulation, there is the very real prospect that they will not repent. There will be no possibility to repent at all for anyone who takes the mark of the beast. (Revelation 14:9-10). It is highly irresponsible to believe that God will deliver believers from persecution during this critical time: He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time. (Revelation 7:25 cf. Revelation 12:17; 13:7; Daniel 7:21,25).

Apostasy is the desertion from Christianity by someone who was formerly a genuine convert. The Greek word apostasia (ἀποστασία) is defection, departure, revolt or rebellion. It has been described as "a wilful falling away from, or rebellion against, Christianity."

Apostasy = ἀποστασία, ἀποστασιας, ἡ (ἀφισταμαι), a falling away, defection, apostasy; in the Bible namely, from the true religion:defection from truth (properly, the state) ("apostasy") -- falling away, forsake. {17}

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion (ἀποστασία) comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.. (2 Thessalonians 2:3).

As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away (σκανδαλίζεται). (Matthew 13:20-21).

INTERCESSORS FOR BRITAIN

Jacob Prasch of Moriel Ministries

After over a year of direct private appeals to Jacob, appealing to others connected with his work, and waiting and hoping that others might act or there might be repentance, we now come to the sad moment where we must speak publicly.

For over a year we have witnessed others being subjected to threats, abusive speech, slander, misrepresentation and malicious gossip; and we have also been on the receiving end of the same. Jacob has carried this out via emails and also using the pulpit to execute this ungodly behaviour.

Despite our best efforts to appeal for him to reconsider his actions and behaviour, he has continued and has again just recently used his pulpit to abuse a godly woman, who is also a member of IFB. She, along with a growing number of good fellow believers have been on the receiving end of some very unrighteousness behaviour.

This is simply unacceptable. That this continues unabated and the untold damage that is being done to fellow saints has led us to make this public statement.

Jacob has promised us he will produce another video attacking us if we dare to speak out against him. We will not make any further comments or responses to any such video. We will only respond further if Jacob denies the claims made in this statement, in which case we will simply post the evidence publicly for the body to judge.

We take no pleasure in writing this and have put it off for a long time at the request of others. However, I will not stand silently by while good fellow workers are wickedly and publicly savaged. Jacob has sort to control many with fear, including me, however, the fear of man brings a snare. We will trust in the Lord.

But please, let none of this be a distraction (unfortunately the enemy has been using it as such for us, hence us drawing a line in the sand here); let us press on in prayer at this critical time.

POWERPLAYPAUSE: THE JACOB PRASCH FILES ~ MORIEL PLACED ON AUSTRALIAN CULT INFORMATION SERVICE

The Jacob Prasch Files No.8: Australian Cult Information Service Places Moriel on List of Possible “Extremist Groups/Destructive and Manipulative Sects/Cults/High Pressure Groups.”

I have uncovered several rather eye-opening articles about Jacob Prasch from the late 1990s and early 2000s. This is the eighth in the collection:

Jacob Prasch’s group Moriel saw rapid expansion in Australia in the late 1990s, despite Prasch’s explosive behaviour, and his gurning about not receiving enough financial offerings, and being labelled by a Moriel Australia volunteer “a malevolent and breathtakingly ungrateful thug” for his idiot attacks on his own volunteers. Theologian David Pawson, in an arbitration report between Prasch and his target the Elim denomination in 1998, keenly noted this about Prasch’s group:

“Moriel is a smaller group of autonomous fellowships in loose association, but its publications are the virtual mouthpiece of one dominant personality, apparently operating without mutual accountability.”

And about Prasch specifically David Pawson wrote:

“He is a powerful personality with considerable intellectual ability and emotional capacity. He has a unique ministry in Bible teaching, especially in the area of Jewish interpretation and application of scripture. His unusual background, knowledge and experience have attracted many followers though, as with other persuasive communicators, some of his devotees regard his pronouncements as the last word on a subject or issue, an attitude he does not appear to discourage. The title of his newsletters (‘Moriel’ means ‘God is my teacher’) has more than a hint of a claim to special revelation, whether this is intended or not.”

A few years down the line in 2003 Prasch’s group Moriel was listed by The Cult Information Service in Brisbane, Australia, in their list of Extremist Groups – Destructive and Manipulative Sects – Cults – High Pressure Groups on their website. The group to this day watches out for fellow Australians, although no longer publishes publicly its list. Here is the 2003 list:
