SIMON BRAKER PROPHET? HOLY TRINITY CHURCH LEICESTER

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. (2 Peter 2:1-3).

Who is Simon Braker?

Braker is the founder of School of the Spirit and claims to "operate in the office of a Prophet". {1}

"Simon Braker is the founder of School of the Prophetic Leicester and co-founder of City Gates Ministries. He is a graduate and an ordained Minister of Kingdom Faith Bible School, he is also a member of the faculty of UK Wagner Leadership Institute, and a member of Ad HOC of the European Coalition of Apostolic Leaders. Simon is also a part of the senior leadership of Holy Trinity Church Leicester, and he has ministered extensively in Eastern Europe, India, USA and the UK. Simon and his wife, Joe, have four children and live in the city of Leicester, UK." {2}

It is immediately evident that Braker is involved with the heterodox shape-shifting movement widely known as the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) by his membership of the organisations in bold above. The NAR is also known as the Apostolic-Prophetic Movement, Christian Reconstructionism and Theonomy, and has associations with The Latter Rain Movement; Joel's Army; The Seven Mountain Mandate; Third Wave Revivalism; IHOP; Bill Johnson's Bethel Church, The Hillsong Media Empire and Rick Joyner's MorningStar Ministries.

The UK Wagner Leadership Institute was founded in 1998 by C Peter Wagner. Wagner invented the term "New Apostolic Reformation" and proclaimed himself the NAR's "Anointed Presiding Apostle". He claimed that the church of the 21st Century will return to Apostolic governance and will be ruled by apostles and prophets equal to the New Testament Apostles.

Wagner listed the differences between the NAR and traditional Protestantism as follows:

· Apostolic governance – The Apostle Paul's assertion that Jesus appoints apostles within his church continues to this day.
· The office of the prophet – There is within the church a role and function for present-day prophets.
· Dominionism – "When Jesus came, He brought the kingdom of God and He expects His kingdom-minded people to take whatever action is needed to push back the long-standing kingdom of Satan and bring the peace and prosperity of His kingdom here on earth."
· Theocracy – Not to be confused with theocratic government but rather the goal to have "kingdom-minded people" in all areas of society. There are seven areas identified specifically: religion, family, education, government, media, arts & entertainment, and business.
· Extra-biblical revelation – There is available to all believers the ability to hear from God. "The one major rule governing any new revelation from God is that it cannot contradict what has already been written in the Bible. It may supplement it, however."
· Supernatural signs and wonders – Signs and wonders such as healing, demonic deliverance, and confirmed prophecies accompany the move of God.
· Relational structures – church governance has no formal structure but rather is by relational and voluntary alignment to apostles. {3}

The European Coalition of Apostolic Leaders

"Anyone who has concerns about the New Apostolic Reformation should keep an eye on two organizations: the International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders, led by 'Convening Apostle' John P. Kelly, and its daughter structure, the European Coalition of Apostolic Leaders, led by 'convener' Jan-Aage Torp. These two networks are energetically working 'to build apostolic government in all cities and regions.' You may be surprised to learn just how extensively apostles in many nations are networking to promote NAR teachings." {4}

NAR "Super Apostles" claim to be equal with, or to have superseded the original Apostles, and since they are allegedly commissioned by God, their authority cannot be questioned. Thus, NAR leaders usurp the clear foundation of the apostles teaching in the scriptures and put the Body of Christ under their own authority. Believers are therefore deprived of the safeguard of scripturally testing prophesies. (1 John 4:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:21).

The NAR teach a flawed post-millennial view of eschatology i.e. Christ's second coming will occur after the millennium. They have redefined the Great Commission in order to accommodate their own agenda, which is to take dominion of the world by means of sociopolitical control under the leadership of NAR apostles and prophets via the Seven Mountain Mandate: Education, Religion, Family, Business, Government/Military, Arts/Entertainment and Media. New extra biblical revelations, allegedly from "God", are given exclusively to NAR prophets (and occasionally apostles). By acting on these new revelations, they claim that the church will be empowered to take dominion of the world in order to enable Jesus' return. Needless to say that Dominionism is utterly false and is not the gospel of Jesus Christ: Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world.." (John 18:36 cf. 2 Corinthians 11:4)). Postmillennialism violates the scriptures which describes Jesus' literal thousand year reign on the earth. (Zechariah 14:4-9; Matthew 25:31-34). Premillennialism is based upon a literal interpretation of Revelation 20:1-6. The kingdom will not be established until JESUS CHRIST (NOT THE CHURCH) sets up His millennial reign after the Great Tribulation. (Revelation 19:11-20:4; 22:19). Jesus Christ did not commission the church to remodel society, the church was commissioned to preach the gospel to the whole world and to make disciples. (Mark 16:15; Matthew 24:14; Matthew 28:19-20). In essence, these NAR false apostles and prophets promote the diametric opposite of the scriptures, often with hyped up claims about revival/awakening/end time harvest. The scriptures speak very clearly about an end time apostasy. (Matthew 24:10-12; 2 Thessalonians 2:3).

These people turn the gospel upside down. They deny the inerrancy of the scriptures, and in doing so, they deny the authority of Christ Himself! NAR leaders include infamous gravesucker Bill Johnson, {5} false prophet Rick Joyner who is a Jesuit/Freemasonic Knight of Malta {6} and Ché Ahn. If you are not alarmed by all of this then there is something very seriously wrong!

The misinterpretation of Ephesians 2:20

For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:18-22 cf. Acts 2:42).

I take the view that the apostles and prophets referred to by Paul above are the apostles of the New Testament and the prophets of both the Old and New Testament. (Romans 1:1-2).

..if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3).

The word foundation is critical to this issue. The canon of scripture is foundational and was laid by the original apostles. Those who claim to receive new extra-biblical revelations and claim to be equal with, or to have even superseded the original apostles and prophets are enemies of Jesus Christ.

For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11).

According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. (1 Corinthians 3:10).

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Mathew 16:18).

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. (Revelation 21:14).

And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. (2 Corinthians 11:12).

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:13–15).

Simon Braker does not challenge the false doctrines of the church. This of course would be a strong indication that he is a true prophet. NAR prophecies are extremely vague and easy to re-interpret when they fail to materialise. Braker is part of the senior leadership of Holy Trinity Church in Leicester which is ecumenical. Can a true prophet of God be ecumenical? The answer to this question is a resounding NO! Without repentance there cannot be revival! Jesus Christ calls the churches to repent. (Revelation 2:5-7, 16-17, 22-23; 3:1-3; 15-20).

Simon Braker's Prophecy For the UK Dated August 13th 2017:

"I saw a vision where drops of clean water were falling into a stagnant pool. At first they just kept bouncing on the top of the scum and seemed to be having no effect, but as I watched, slowly it began to split and ripples began to form; with each drop the ripples grew bigger and the scum began to break up. Then a wonderful thing happened, what had been a single drop began to be joined by many, slowly at first, but then there was thunder ...and a storm began to rage and the surface of this stagnant pool began to get ripped up.

It was at this point that the Lord lifted me up and I saw the shape of the pool, it was in fact the UK, and as I watched, the old dirty water was flushed out and the pool began to fill up fast, and after a time it began to burst its banks and break out and overflow in all directions into the nations.

Then the Lord spoke- One again I shall pour out my Spirit on what has become a stagnant and stinking land, but I shall wash away the dirt and filth and fill her afresh with the pure water of my Spirit. I will flood her borders with my presence and a great awakening shall come, a new missions movement shall be born and thousands shall go in my name and take the rains of revival to the nations again.

Stay encouraged, do not allow what seems to be bouncing off the surface frustrate you, for know this, the cracks are beginning to form; the clouds are starting to gather and the rains are ready to fall. This land shall be a land of clean waters and revival again; not gatherings to meetings and events, but the gathering of my Army ready to be sent. They shall go empowered with my Spirit and show forth my glory, not just in church meetings but in the Market place, for this shall be the last and the greatest outpouring of my Spirit in this land.

The elements have been shouting forth My Word, even the land itself. Those who have eyes have seen it; rivers bursting their banks, streets fields, towns, cities, roads, work places, houses, temples, churches flooded. In this time my Spirit will invade them all, for I am the God of the impossible and my plans and purposes stand eternal, so stand ready to catch the wave and do not lose heart!" {7}

Where is the call for the churches to repent of their false doctrines?

The cluster of false doctrines at Holy Trinity Church in Leicester include New Wine, {8} Monasticism/TOM (Mike Breen), {9} Mission Shaped Communities (devised by false prophet Mark Stibbe), {10} Breathe,{11} SOZO (Bill Johnson) {12} ..and not one word from Braker about these critical problems!

Far from revival, the scriptures speak of godlessness in the last days:

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. (2 Timothy 3:1-4 cf. 2 Peter 3:3; Jude 1:18).

Braker proclaims himself to be "the Prophet", and John McGinley, Vicar of Holy Trinity, "the Apostle". {13} Is anyone else utterly horrified that this man speaks such vain profanities?

False prophets prophesy "peace".

They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace. Jeremiah 6:14; 8:11; 14:13).

And the Lord said to me: “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds. Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although I did not send them, and who say, ‘Sword and famine shall not come upon this land’: By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed. And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem, victims of famine and sword, with none to bury them—them, their wives, their sons, and their daughters. For I will pour out their evil upon them. (Jeremiah 14:14-16).

The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule on their own authority; And My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it? (Jeremiah 5:31).

..who say to the seers, “Do not see,
and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us what is right;
speak to us smooth things,
prophesy illusions..
(Isaiah 30:10).

Hananiah the False Prophet

1In that same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourth year, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the Lord, in the presence of the priests and all the people, saying, 2“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. 3Within two years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon. 4I will also bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon, declares the Lord, for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.5Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to Hananiah the prophet in the presence of the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the Lord, 6and the prophet Jeremiah said, “Amen! May the Lord do so; may the Lord make the words that you have prophesied come true, and bring back to this place from Babylon the vessels of the house of the Lord, and all the exiles. 7Yet hear now this word that I speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people. 8The prophets who preceded you and me from ancient times prophesied war, famine, and pestilence against many countries and great kingdoms. 9As for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes to pass, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet.10Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke-bars from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke them. 11And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, “Thus says the Lord: Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations within two years.” But Jeremiah the prophet went his way. 12Sometime after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke-bars from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 13“Go, tell Hananiah, ‘Thus says the Lord: You have broken wooden bars, but you have made in their place bars of iron. 14For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put upon the neck of all these nations an iron yoke to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they shall serve him, for I have given to him even the beasts of the field.’” 15And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you, and you have made this people trust in a lie. 16Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have uttered rebellion against the Lord.’” 17In that same year, in the seventh month, the prophet Hananiah died. (Jeremiah 28:1-17).

The outcome for Hananiah was death! I am not a prophet, but I do not expect to see a good ending for false prophets/teachers like Braker/McGinley and their followers unless there is repentance.

Tragically Braker's School of the Spirit has been taken up by Trinity Life Church in Leicester. Many are being led astray in these last days. (Acts 20:29; 1 Timothy 4:1).

  1. You write:"Pre-millennialism is based upon a literal interpretation of Revelation 20.1-6, and this is very true! Many errantly think that this is the ONLY Scripture that teaches the soon coming literal 1000 year millennial reign of Jesus Christ, directly perhaps, but Revelation 20.1-6 is the CAPSTONE as it were, in the very last book of Scripture (most appropriately!) that confirms the (may I say countless?) verses throughout the OT & NT that teach this biblical doctrine.

    May God be pleased to bless this article to your readers!

  2. The Lord has made premillennialism clear, I agree Colin. Those who reject the scriptures for their own interpretations are enemies of Christ.
    God bless.

  4. That is quite a controversial question Rene. I believe that you can lose your salvation, but others would disagree with me. All you can do is ask the Lord to help you and cleanse you from your sin. If you are serious then He will help you. God bless.

  5. I think this is possible. I mean, I am so devastated by Satan that there is no return. I have his mark on the hand and head (pentagram) and I am surrounded by t and trapped as is flying in the spidernet. like a mummy, I hang on the cross (the cross looks at the ground and I too.) As in Judas, I am hanged and strangled by the sword.

    i dont know what can i do? all prayings are stopped from the darkness

  8. Dear Sue. You will find my email address on my "About Me" page. . Thank you for your prayers. Some members of One Church (formerly TLC and All Nations Church Leicester) have taken my warnings on board thank God. I find Holly Pivek and Doug Geivett very helpful - https://www.hollypivec.com/books Simon Braker is now based in London as far as I am aware. Hirelings such as David Hind here in Leicester should be avoided, they don't care about the scriptures or about protecting God's people from error. God bless.
