LEICESTER@THECROSS MAKES A MOCKERY OF JESUS CHRIST!

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6).

Leicester at the Cross 2018: "The significant events of Good Friday", is being promoted by Churches Together in Leicestershire, the organisation that is "Furthering Ecumenical Cooperation within Leicester and Leicestershire." {1}

Ecumenism is defined as "The movement or tendency toward worldwide Christian unity or cooperation. The term, of recent origin, emphasizes what is viewed as the universality of the Christian churches." {2} In broader terms, the ecumenical movement goes beyond uniting various so called "Christian" denominations. The Roman Catholic Church has vigorously promoted the modern ecumenical movement since the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), and it continues to gain ground at an alarming rate. Many evangelicals are embracing Rome as if it were a valid expression of Christianity, and yet even a cursory examination of Rome's doctrine and practice reveals that it is at deviance with the teaching of the New Testament. Pope Francis' statement that "Christians and Muslims are brothers and sisters", utterly contradicts the scriptures. Islam denies the divinity of Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. The Pope has even stated publicly that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed their consciences. (Ephesians 2:8). {3} The ultimate aim of ecumenism is to unite all religions, including Mormons, Islamists, Hindus, Buddhists, Wiccans, Universalists, and a variety of New Age belief systems as equally valid via interreligious dialogue. Ecumenism/Interfaith is insupportable from a scriptural perspective, since it ignores the central tenet of Christianity i.e. the exclusivity of Jesus Christ, the only way to God. (John 14:6 cf. Galatians 1:6-9; 2 Peter 2:1; Jude 1:3-4). 

The growth in religious pluralism and the interfaith dialogue is a denial of the cross of Christ. (Colossians 1:19-20). As such, any commemoration of the crucifixion by ecumenists makes a mockery of Jesus Christ by default! (Galatians 1:8-9). I know of no church in Leicester that has not compromised in some way with the ecumenical movement, whether openly or by association. The ultimate fate of ecumenical churches is extremely bleak unless they repent. The inevitable drift into the one Ecumenical World Church aka the One World Religion under the Roman Catholic umbrella is taking place before our very eyes, and yet so many professing Christians do not seem to have grasped the gravity of the situation. Ecumenism foreshadows what the scriptures predict will be the one world religion under the power of the Antichrist. The book of Revelation gives us a frightening picture of the end time Harlot Church aka Babylon the Great:

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

When I saw her, I marvelled greatly. But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come. This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while. As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction. And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast. They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”

And the angel said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire, for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:1-18).

John McGinley: "As we approach Good Friday and Easter I sense God reminding me of the cost he paid in order to remove the dividing wall of our sin and make a way for us to come back to him- Jesus’ willingness to leave heaven and take on our humanity.  The fact that he continually chose to agree with the Father’s will and to walk towards the cross when he could have avoided it at any time. The pain of the cross which culminated in the Father and the Son being spiritually separated for the first time and Jesus anguished cry ‘why have you forsaken me’ , and then the pouring out of the Holy Spirit to live within me so I can know God and he will never leave me.  It provokes so many responses in me- wonder and praise at this underserved amazing grace, a desire to live for God’s glory, and a sadness at the poverty of my response and my sin."

I can find nothing above that I would disagree with, and yet Holy Trinity Church in Leicester are an ecumenical Anglican Church promoting Mike Breen's spiritually lethal 3DM "mission shaped" model. 3DM aka 3dmovements now appears to have morphed into Missional Communities UK...  this organisation is currently promoting 3DM ideas and material. North Heights Lutheran Church in Minnesota is a glaring example of a church quite literally torn apart by 3DM.

Holy Trinity are using the prayer tools they have received from the infamous Bethel Church in California and their SOZO ministry.

The New Wine Training Centre in Leicester operates from Holy Trinity. New Wine is a group of churches operating within the United Kingdom. It was established in 1989 as a Christian festival run by Anglicans David Pytches and Barry Kissell. These men claimed to be inspired by false prophet/teacher John Wimber, founder of the Vineyard Movement.

It is what John McGinley does not say about his beliefs and practices that merits the attention of true followers of Jesus Christ.

The Bible is unequivocal: JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER:

1“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2In my Father’s house are many rooms. For the third year running, the annual ecumenical Good Friday event Leicester@theCross is to take place at Humberstone Gate at 11am on Thursday the 25th of March. It is being promoted by The Diocese of Leicester (Anglican) and Churches Together in Leicestershire, both of which by biblical standards are heretical organisations.{1} It is also being promoted by Knighton Free Church on their website.{2} John McGinley, Vicar of Holy Trinity Church Leicester is organising and leading this event once again.

Liz Hudson, Spokesperson for the Diocese of Leicester: 
"On a stage in the midst of shoppers, the events of the first Easter will be remembered in a variety of entertaining ways.
"This year we are looking at doing something a bit different to make the event even more inclusive.
"We going to have a Christian rapper, giant puppets, drama and singing.
"It will all add to the witness that churches from across Leicester and Leicestershire, including Methodist and Roman Catholic denominations, bring to this great annual event."
She added: "For the first time, we will have Asian dancers from the Church of the Resurrection, in the city centre.
"Its a bit different and an interesting way to make the event even more appealing." {3} 

Ecumenical is from Late Latin oecūmenicus, from Greek oikoumenikos, from (hē)oikoumenē (gē), (the) inhabited (world).

The two major players in the Ecumenical Movement are The World Council of Churches and The Roman Catholic Church. Their stated aim is to bring about visible worldwide Christian unity in answer to Jesus Christ's prayer in John 17:22: ".....that they may be one even as we are one." Jesus' prayer for the unity of all believers was specific in that he prayed for spiritual unity (John 17:5; 10:30), unity in Truth (John 17:17), and unity in agape Love (John 17:23,26). The difficulty is that in order to "be one" in ecumenical terms, believers must accept "unity" at the cost of truth. In stark contrast the Bible demands spiritual unity in the context of maintaining the purity of the Gospel (Galatians 1:6-9; 2 Peter 2:1; Jude 1:3-4). In other words, subjective faith (one’s personal faith) cannot be divorced from objective truth (the body of revealed doctrine).

In recent years we have seen a massive deterioration in doctrine, not only amongst the mainstream Christian denominations, but amongst so called "evangelicals". Since the publication of Evangelicals and Catholics Together in 1994, there has been an unprecedented push for Evangelicals to accept the satanic ecumenical agenda. The meetings between the Pope and a number of "evangelical" teachers (including Kenneth Copeland, James Robison, Joel Osteen, John and Carol Arnott of Catch the Fire Toronto, Geoff Tunnicliffe, head of the Worldwide Evangelical Alliance etc.) in 2014 were deeply troubling. We heard the deliberate falsehood: "Luther's protest is over" and "division is diabolical" from the Pope's friend Tony Palmer (now deceased) who was a bishop and international ecumenical officer with the independent Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches. Tony Palmer's claim that the Roman Catholic church believes in salvation by faith alone just about sums up the disinformation being promulgated by these deceivers (see Catholic Catechism Ref. Nos. 1265-1271, 1987-1995). The reasons for the Protestant Reformation remain, absolutely nothing has changed, apart from the compromise and collaboration of the Church of England and her harlot sisters in the World Council of Churches. Luther's protest can never be over for true Bible believing Christians unless the Roman Catholic Church repents, and I do not have any hope of that happening. 

CHURCHES TOGETHER

Churches Together in Britain and Ireland: "The Church: Towards a Common Vision (sometimes abbreviated to TCTCV) is a document from the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches (Faith and Order Paper No.214). Published in 2013, it was the result of many years work by representative theologians from Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant, Evangelical, Pentecostal and Roman Catholic Churches asking what can be said together about the Church and how closer mutual understanding might contribute to overcoming the obstacles standing in the way of unity between the divided Christian communities." {4}

Promoters of Leicester@theCross, Churches Together, are ecumenical, interfaith amd interreligious. They actively participate in religious pluralism through "interreligious dialogue and collaboration" - this involves validating different religions and praying with believers of other faiths. The validation of other religions/faiths is a clear departure from the apostolic teaching and is nothing short of open rebellion against God:

The "gods" of other religions are defined as demons in the Bible.

No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. (1 Corinthians 10:20)

For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. (Psalm 96:5)
   
Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works. (2 John 1:9-11)

THE FALSE TEACHINGS OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

The Catholic Church is the one true church (CCC 2105), Infallibility of the Catholic Church, (CCC 2035), Only the Roman Catholic Church has authority to interpret Scripture (CCC 100), The Pope is the head of the church and has the authority of Christ (CCC 2034), The Roman Catholic Church is necessary for salvation (CCC 846), Sacred Tradition is equal to scripture (CCC 82), Forgiveness of sins, salvation, is by faith and works (CCC 2036 CCC 2080 2068), Full benefit of Salvation is only through the Roman Catholic Church (Vatican 2, Decree on Ecumenism, 3), Grace can be merited (CCC 2010 CCC 2027), The merit of Mary and the Saints can be applied to Catholics and others (1477), Penance is necessary for salvation (CCC 980), Purgatory (CCC 1031 CCC 1475), Indulgences (CCC 1471 CCC 1478 CCC 1498 CCC 1472), Mary is Mediatrix (CCC 969), Mary brings us the gifts of eternal salvation (CCC 969), Mary delivers souls from death (CCC 966), Prayer to the saints (CCC 2677), The Communion elements become the actual body and blood of Christ (CCC 1374 CCC 1376). {5} 

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness..... (2 Timothy 3:16) 

If anyone comes with another doctrine, do not receive him....for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds (2 John 10,11).

The apostle Paul warned of such a time as this when sound doctrine is downplayed and even vilified:

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions..... (2 Timothy 4:3) 

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (Ephesians 5:11)

DO THE ABRAHAMIC FAITHS WORSHIP THE SAME GOD AS THE POPE IMPLIES?

The Abrahamic faiths may have some things in common, but they differ in one critical aspect, THE IDENTIFICATION OF JESUS CHRIST AS THE SON OF GOD - THE MESSIAH. It was Peter who confessed Jesus as the Christ, that is the promised Messiah (Matthew 16:16; Luke 9:20), the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). The Koran teaches that Jesus Christ was a prophet and that God has no son. Similarly Judaism rejects Jesus Christ as their Messiah. The sad truth is that Judaism, Islam and Christianity are irreconcileable no matter how many nice interfaith meetings take place between them.

And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him.  (Mark 8:27-30)  

For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. (2 Corinthians 1:4)

THE ANGLICANS

Justin Welby's position on many doctrinal issues is nothing short of scandalous:

• The Church of England has embraced paganism as a bone fide "religion" and is creating a Pagan church to recruit members: "Ministers are being trained to creat new forms of anglicanism suitable for people of alterntive beliefs." {6} 
• Welby has affirmed Buddhism in his statement that Prince George is "perfectly entitled" to become a Buddhist later in life!
• Welby supports homosexuality!
• Welby has removed "sin" and "rejection of the devil" from baptism! (infant baptism is unbiblical anyway).
• Welby doubts even the existence of God!

Justin Welby: "Anglicans and Roman Catholics have, since 1966, been in serious and prayerful dialogue with each other, to seek the unity that Christ wills for his church in the world," {7}

Leicester@theCross 2015: The Dangers of the Ecumenical Movement

For the second year, John McGinley, Vicar of Holy Trinity Church in Leicester is one of the organisers of the annual Good Friday event, Leicester@theCross. He describes the event in strong ecumenical terms: 

“Without doubt the event this year will be the most ecumenical event in the city representing churches from many communities.”

Ecumenical is from Late Latin oecūmenicus, from Greek oikoumenikos, from (hē)oikoumenē (gē), (the) inhabited (world).

The two major players in the Ecumenical Movement are The World Council of Churches and The Roman Catholic Church. Their stated aim is to bring about visible worldwide Christian unity in answer to Jesus Christ's prayer in John 17:22: ".....that they may be one even as we are one." Jesus' prayer for the unity of all believers was specific in that he prayed for spiritual unity (John 17:5; 10:30), unity in Truth (John 17:17), and unity in agape Love (John 17:23,26). The difficulty is that in order to "be one" in ecumenical terms, believers must accept "unity" at the cost of truth. In stark contrast the Bible demands spiritual unity in the context of maintaining the purity of the Gospel (Galatians 1:6-9; 2 Peter 2:1; Jude 1:3-4). In other words, subjective faith (one’s personal faith) cannot be divorced from objective truth (the body of revealed doctrine).

In recent years we have seen a massive deterioration in doctrine, not only amongst the mainstream Christian denominations, but amongst so called "evangelicals". Since the publication of Evangelicals and Catholics Together in 1994, there has been an unprecedented push for Evangelicals to accept the satanic ecumenical agenda. The meetings last year between the Pope and a number of false teachers (including Kenneth Copeland, James Robison, Joel Osteen, John and Carol Arnott of Catch the Fire Toronto, Geoff Tunnicliffe, head of the Worldwide Evangelical Alliance etc.) are deeply troubling. We heard the deliberate falsehood: "Luther's protest is over" and "division is diabolical" from the Pope's friend Tony Palmer (now deceased) who was a bishop and international ecumenical officer with the independent Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches. Tony Palmer's claim that the Roman Catholic church believes in salvation by faith alone just about sums up the disinformation being promulgated by these deceivers (see Catholic Catechism Ref. Nos. 1265-1271, 1987-1995). The reasons for the Protestant Reformation remain, absolutely nothing has changed, apart from the compromise and collaboration of the Church of England and her harlot sisters in the World Council of Churches. Luther's protest can never be over for true Bible believing Christians unless the Roman Catholic Church repents, and I do not have any hope of that happening. 

CHURCHES TOGETHER

Churches Together in Britain and Ireland: "The Church: Towards a Common Vision (sometimes abbreviated to TCTCV) is a document from the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches (Faith and Order Paper No.214). Published in 2013, it was the result of many years work by representative theologians from Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant, Evangelical, Pentecostal and Roman Catholic Churches asking what can be said together about the Church and how closer mutual understanding might contribute to overcoming the obstacles standing in the way of unity between the divided Christian communities." http://www.ctbi.org.uk/705

They actively participate in religious pluralism through "interreligious dialogue and collaboration" - this involves validating different religions and praying with believers of other faiths. DO THE ABRAHAMIC FAITHS WORSHIP THE SAME GOD AS THE POPE IMPLIES?

The Abrahamic faiths may have some things in common, but they differ in one critical aspect, THE IDENTIFICATION OF JESUS CHRIST AS THE SON OF GOD - THE MESSIAH. It was Peter who confessed Jesus as the Christ, that is the promised Messiah (Matthew 16:16; Luke 9:20), the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). The Koran teaches that Jesus Christ was a prophet and that God has no son. Similarly Judaism rejects Jesus Christ as their Messiah. The sad truth is that Judaism, Islam and Christianity are irreconcileable no matter how many nice interfaith meetings they have.

And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him.  (Mark 8:27-30)

LEICESTER@THECROSS: THE FALSE UNITY OF ECUMENISM - WIDE IS THE GATE THAT LEADS TO DESTRUCTION

Leicester@theCross is being organised by the Anglican Church. It is being led by John McGinley Vicar of Holy Trinity Church and organised by Tim Stratford who is the Archdeacon of Leicester. This ecumenical event will replace Christ in the Centre on what is erroneously referred to as the date of Christ's crucifixion. Good Friday falls this year on the 18th of April.

Leicester@theCross is yet another instance of the ecumenical prostitution of the churches in Leicester. It is being supported by Knighton Evangelical Free Church, Trinity Life Church and no doubt others who claim to be “evangelical”. The organisers promise “a fresh approach......uniting traditions – new and old together in a clear act of witness."   A clear witness to what though? The organisers are not giving much away except to say that the events will be told through music, drama, and singing of Easter hymns.

THE DEFINITION OF ECUMENISM

While presenting itself as owning the very name of Christianity, ecumenism is a vile heresy which poses the gravest threat to Biblical Christianity. As the poison takes hold, the lie is perpetrated that spiritual unity is more important than truth – this is the spirit of Antichrist which seeks to supplant genuine faith in Jesus Christ as the only way to the Father (John 14/6).

Ecumenism involves promoting unity between Christian denominations and churches previously separated by doctrine, history and practice. These initiatives are often referred to as interdenominational. Ecumenism is aimed at worldwide unity and a single church. This involves unity between orthodox Christians and Roman Catholics who are engaged in idolatry and who have a different gospel..... it involves syncretism and unity with those denominations who have compromised with doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4/1). Examples of this are liberal church views on interfaith, homosexuality, gay marriage, evolution, Chrislam and replacement theology (the belief that the church replaces national Israel) etc.

Ecumenism is also linked to interfaith or multifaith pluralism which promotes worldwide unity among religions through greater cooperation and improved understanding. They tell us that truth is relative rather than absolute and that we must embrace all beliefs as viable truth, but this is not what the Bible teaches. Are we pleasing men or God by giving validity to pagan religions whose beliefs are detestable to God and whose deities are referred to as demons in the Bible? What accord has Christ with Belial? (2 Corinthians 6/15)

.....what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? (1 Corinthians 10/20-22)

For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive, but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. (1 Thessalonians 2/3-4)

The prophet Amos asks a very critical question: Can two walk together unless they are agreed? (Amos 3/3) The answer to that question is a resounding NO! No matter what banner of “Christianity” we profess, if we do not agree with the Holy Scriptures which are the inerrant Word of God then we have no part of Jesus Christ. Ecumenism directly contradicts the command of scripture to be of one mind (Philippians 2/2). Ecumenism is to bring faith down to the lowest common denominator and by doing so it negates biblical truth. The apostolic teaching is to be of one mind and one body by believing, speaking, and doing all the things that have been handed down to us by Jesus Christ and the apostles. True unity in the spirit is to be united by biblical beliefs, being perfectly joined together of the same mind in accord with Christ Jesus (Romans 15/5). Not through any human agency: For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? (1 Corinthians 3/4)

…..complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. (Philippians 2/2)

John 17 is quoted by those who seek to pursue the false oneness of ecumenism. However what John 17 says is that unity is conditional upon truth as given by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. (John 17/17)
