The lethal "futuristic" interpretation of Revelation Chapters 2-3 by Randy White

Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand. (Daniel 12:10-11)

Randy White became the pastor of a small congregation at Taos First Baptist Church in New Mexico in 2015 following his previous possition for 12 years as pastor at the First Baptist Church in Katy TX. He has created the Dispensational Publishing House based in Taos to become the "go to" source for dispensationalism. Surprisingly for such a claim, he fails to define dispensationalism in any detail.{1} 

I do not intend going into the complexities of the various strands of dispensationalism in this post, but I do wish to identify a very serious problem with Randy White's article: The Seven Churches of Revelation: A New Look in which he states " .....the letters to the seven churches of Revelation 2-3 are entirely future, only directly relevant to seven congregations of Jewish believers that will exist after the rapture of the church and unbelievers!"

Randy White: "I think it is worthy of consideration that the seven churches of Revelation might be future congregations of Jewish believers living in the renewed age of the Law (the final seven years which has been decreed but never fulfilled, Daniel 9:24-27). If read in light of the Law, we would not directly apply them to the church today (just as we would not apply the Old Testament or even the Gospels to the church). If this change of focus is made, the seven letters become a message to seven groups of Jewish believers in the Day of Jacob’s trouble, giving new light and relieving us of some challenging exegesis." 

The above statement places Randy White firmly in the camp of extreme dispensationalism, a dangerous teaching which has a number of variants e.g. Hyper-dispensationalism, Mid-Acts Dispensationalism, Ultra-Dispensationalism, Bullingerism etc. Dispensationalism originated in the nineteenth century with the Father of Dispensationalism, John Nelson Darby (1800-1882). Darby's dispensational theology evolved out of the controversial pre-tribulation rapture theory which he claimed as his own, although actually there is strong evidence that it originated with the the Irvingites.{2} Dispensationalism has gained widespread acceptance within evangelicalism mainly through C.I. Scofield's Reference Bible (published in 1909). The "new" teachings of John Nelson Darby were marked as heretical by many well known church leaders and scholars of his time, including Charles Spurgeon, George Muller, Samuel P Tregelles, R.L. Dabney, and L.L. Warfield. Benjamin Wills Newton went as far as voicing his concern that Darby was working for the Jesuits!{3} 

Modern scholars and leaders of note, such as Joe Schimmel, John Haller, Dave Macpherson etc. also castigate the extreme views of Darby. The DVD by Good Fight Ministries, Left Behind or Led Astray is an excellent well researched presentation of the pre-tribulation rapture history.{4}   

Hyperdispensationalists and ultradispensationalists emphasise that Israel and the "mystery church" i.e. the Body of Christ are two mutually exclusive groups with two different gospels and two distinct ways of salvation. They view the four gospels and the gospel preached by Peter in the early part of the book of Acts as a works based gospel relevant only to the Jews. Only the Pauline epistles are relevant to the church because they are the only books that teach that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. As such, most hyper/ultradispensationalists view water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as ordinances uniquely applicable to these early Jewish New Testament believers. Similarly, the books of  Peter, James, Jude, Hebrews and the epistles of John were addressed to the Hebrew church and are not for the Body of Christ. They also teach that the Book of Revelation is addressed exclusively to the Jewish church of the tribulation.

Randy White: "If the letters to the churches are future, then we would not apply the letters to these churches to our own age and our particular church any more than we would do so for the remainder of the book of Revelation, taken futuristically. For example, while it is insightful to know that a coming one-world leader will have an economic system that requires his mark for buying and selling, a believer today who holds to a pre-trib, pre-millennial interpretation will not spend fruitless time worrying about what this mark is or how they will put food on the table. These issues are non-starters for a pre-trib dispensationalist, and the doctrine taught in the book of Revelation is knowledge of the coming 'Day of Jacob’s Trouble,' relating to Israel and the nations of the world during the tribulation." {5} 

The above statement is highly irresponsible and it puts pretribulationist believers in a very vulnerable position during the 70th week of Daniel. The tribulation, the Antichrist and the mark of the beast may be "non starters" for pre-trib dispensationalists living in a fools paradise, but in the real world, these are extremely significant issues. "The Day/Time of Jacob's Trouble" (Jeremiah 30:7) is obviously specific to ethnic Israel. However, it does not follow that believers will not suffer the persecution of the Antichrist during the Great Tribulation. In fact the Bible says that believers definitely will suffer persecution during this time. Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. (Matthew 24:9) This refers to all believers, not just to Israel as the dispensationalists would have us believe. The 70 weeks of Daniel have been decreed for the Jewish Nation (Daniel 9:24), but the 70th week also has repercussions for the Gentile Church who are grafted into the New Covenant made with Israel (Jeremiah 31:31 cf. Revelation 12:17). The "tribulation" is never referred to as a seven year period in the scriptures. The Great Tribulation was defined by Jesus Christ and ties in with the mid point of Daniel's 70th week when the Antichrist will break his covenant and set up the abomination of desolation  (Matthew 24:15-21; cf. Daniel 9:27). The Time of Jacobs Trouble is a term that is related to the Day of the Lord and the Great Tribulation. In other words, the Time of Jacob's Trouble relates specifically to the final 3.5 years of the 70th week of Daniel and not to the final seven years. What is referred to as the "pre-tribulation rapture" is a fallacy that does not find one verse of scripture to support it, even the pretribulational leaders themselves are forced to admit this.

The traditional view of the seven letters of Revelation is that they were written to specific historical churches and are relevant to the universal church in all generations as well as relating to church history at different periods of time. The Jewish Messianic titles and the symbolism describing the seven churches strongly suggests that the letters were written to Messianic Jewish congregations. According to tradition, the Apostle John lived in Ephesus and led the churches in Asia Minor no later than 67 AD. {6} The seven letters do not claim to be prophetic in themselves and there is absolutely no scriptural evidence that they are "entirely futuristic". Randy White refers to Revelation chapters 2 and 3 as proof of his "new" futuristic teaching, but he fails entirely to take any account of the context and undeniable evidence that the seven churches were physical churches in specific locations in Revelation Chapter 1: 

John to the seven churches that are in Asia:  (Revelation 1:4)
John wrote in the present tense to the seven churches in the precise location of Asia (Asia Minor). At that time Asia Minor was a Roman province with Ephesus as its capital. The seven churches ceased to thrive in the centuries of Muslim control. However the archaeological remains of all seven locations currently exist in present-day Turkey.{7}

“Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.” (Revelation 1:11)

How could John send what he had written to the seven churches if the letters are entirely futuristic?

Write therefore the things that you have seen, those that are (present) and those that are to take place after this (future). (Revelation 1:19)

Ephesus: What Are The First Works?

Randy White:“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” (Revelation 2:5).  This message to the angel of the church of Ephesus sounds foreign to anything of the age of Grace.  Further, the angel of the church of Pergamum is told,  “Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.” (Revelation 2:16). The 'sword of my mouth' is seen in Revelation 19:15 and is the same sword by which the wrath of God judges the nations. How can the blood-bought and forever secure church receive the wrath of God?" 

Jesus Christ commended the church at Ephesus for their works in verse 2, but they were not their first works (Revelation 2:2). The letter goes on to reveal that something vital had been abandoned: But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. (Revelation 2:4-5)  When viewed historically these first works are the deeds which were done when the church was first established, deeds done in response to the grace of God i.e. the gospel (Ephesians 1:13). Contrary to Randy White's claim that these verses are foreign to the Age of Grace, they appear to be all about grace and do not concern works of the law (Ephesians 2:8-9).
  
Apart from all his other problems, Randy White also seems to be under the misapprehension that it is not possible for believers to fall from grace. However, the Bible clearly states that such a thing is possible, even as these letters to the seven churches themselves demonstrate! (cf. Matthew 25:12;  John 15:6; Romans 11:19-22; Galatians 5:5; 2 Peter 2:20-22 etc.) 

The Lethal Implications Of Randy White's False Teaching:

The implications of Randy White's manifest errors are hugely troubling. He assumes that during the fallacious "seven year tribulation", Israel will be living in "a renewed age of the Law", but isn't this the domain of the Antichrist?

How will Israel come to accept the Antichrist as their long awaited Messiah (John 5:43)?  The 70th week of Daniel commences when the Antichrist confirms the covenant with many for one week (Daniel 9:27). Since this covenant has some connection with the daily sacrifices being reinstated, theoretically, it may include a confirmation of the Mosaic covenant together with some counterfeit works based version of the gospel, just as the extreme dispensationalists now teach. When the Antichrist breaks the covenant at the mid-point of the 70th week and sets up the abomination that causes desolation, the awful truth will dawn upon Israel and they will flee (to Petra?) to avoid persecution. They will look upon me, the one they have pierced, is a clear reference to the cross. In other words, after the Antichrist breaks his covenant and comes after Israel, they will repent and turn from Law to grace.

And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. (Zechariah 12:10 cf. John 19:37; Revelation 1:7; Joel 2:32) 

.....yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. (Galatians 2:16; cf Galatians 3:24; Romans 3:20-22; Hebrews 7:19)  

Randy White has excluded the entire book of Revelation from the church on the pretext of extreme dispensationalism, a position which cannot be validated by the scriptures. I am unable to account for the reason that so many true believers, and even sound teachers in other respects, stick aggressively to the pre-tribulation rapture theory. It is so flimsy that I cannot imagine anyone in their right mind accepting it blindly without one verse of scripture to validate it. I am not at all sure whether those die-hards who tenaciously hold on to this theory will even realise what is happening during the 70th week of Daniel. Their fixation upon an imminent pre-tribulation rapture is so strong, the danger is that many may fail to recognise the signs of Jesus' return because they will not be watching (Matthew 24:42; 25:13). At some time shortly after the mid point of the 70th week, when the persecution against Christians kicks in, many will quickly fall away (Matthew 13:20-21). Pretribulationism sets believers up for a fall from which many will not recover: And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. (Matthew 24:10)

The groundwork for the falling away has been well laid by the enemy through various false doctrines, not least of which are the charismatic "word-faith" teachings and also the teachings of Darby and his successors. Disturbingly, the evil seeds of dispensationalism and pretribulationism continue take root within the western church. Since many pretribulationists already appear to be under a spiritual delusion, what will be the outcome for them when the arch deceiver, the Antichrist appears (2 Thessalonians 2:11)? The "falling away" (apostasy) spoken of by the apostle Paul, will, I suggest, be due to those who become "offended" due to the unexpected horrors of the great tribulation and the escapist teaching of the pretribulationist teachers (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Tim LaHaye: "If Christ does not rapture His church before the tribulation begins, much of the hope is destroyed, and thus it becomes a blasted hope." {8} Are teachers like Tim LaHaye setting believers up for a fall from which they will not recover when the rapture fails to materialise at said time and false hopes are destroyed? In the words of Joe Falkner: "Is the pre-tribulation rapture theory the blessed hope or blasted hype?" {9}

There are of course differences between the Church and ethnic Israel in the scriptures. In particular we should note that the Jews were dispersed to the ends of the earth in AD 70 in fulfilment of prophecy. Since 1948, they are being regathered in unbelief and have revived Biblical Hebrew as their language. This is a completely unique situation in history for any dispersed and uprooted nation (Isaiah 11:11-12; Ezekiel 37:11-12 ). The church will be raptured after the tribulation, before the wrath of God falls (Matthew 24:29; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8 cf. Revelation 6:16). Once this has happened, Christ will turn his attention towards Israel once again, and - all Israel will be saved.. (Romans 11:26) - to those in Jacob who turn from transgression.. (Isaiah 59:20; cf. Zechariah 13:8). I find nothing about "a renewed age of the law" in the scriptures, except in the plans of Satan. There is only one gospel and one way of salvation, the everlasting gospel which is by grace through faith. (Revelation 14:6; Ephesians 2:8) 

"For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one, and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall." (Ephesians 2:14) 

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance ALL that I have said to you. (John 14:26) 

ALL Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16)
 
The SUM of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever. (Psalm 119:160) 

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:18-22)

Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?" For the third year running, the annual ecumenical Good Friday event Leicester@theCross is to take place at Humberstone Gate at 11am on Thursday the 25th of March. It is being promoted by The Diocese of Leicester (Anglican) and Churches Together in Leicestershire, both of which by biblical standards are heretical organisations.{1} It is also being promoted by Knighton Free Church on their website.{2} John McGinley, Vicar of Holy Trinity Church Leicester is organising and leading this event once again.

Liz Hudson, Spokesperson for the Diocese of Leicester: 
"On a stage in the midst of shoppers, the events of the first Easter will be remembered in a variety of entertaining ways.
"This year we are looking at doing something a bit different to make the event even more inclusive.
"We going to have a Christian rapper, giant puppets, drama and singing.
"It will all add to the witness that churches from across Leicester and Leicestershire, including Methodist and Roman Catholic denominations, bring to this great annual event."
She added: "For the first time, we will have Asian dancers from the Church of the Resurrection, in the city centre.
"Its a bit different and an interesting way to make the event even more appealing." {3} 

Ecumenical is from Late Latin oecūmenicus, from Greek oikoumenikos, from (hē)oikoumenē (gē), (the) inhabited (world).

The two major players in the Ecumenical Movement are The World Council of Churches and The Roman Catholic Church. Their stated aim is to bring about visible worldwide Christian unity in answer to Jesus Christ's prayer in John 17:22: ".....that they may be one even as we are one." Jesus' prayer for the unity of all believers was specific in that he prayed for spiritual unity (John 17:5; 10:30), unity in Truth (John 17:17), and unity in agape Love (John 17:23,26). The difficulty is that in order to "be one" in ecumenical terms, believers must accept "unity" at the cost of truth. In stark contrast the Bible demands spiritual unity in the context of maintaining the purity of the Gospel (Galatians 1:6-9; 2 Peter 2:1; Jude 1:3-4). In other words, subjective faith (one’s personal faith) cannot be divorced from objective truth (the body of revealed doctrine).

In recent years we have seen a massive deterioration in doctrine, not only amongst the mainstream Christian denominations, but amongst so called "evangelicals". Since the publication of Evangelicals and Catholics Together in 1994, there has been an unprecedented push for Evangelicals to accept the satanic ecumenical agenda. The meetings between the Pope and a number of "evangelical" teachers (including Kenneth Copeland, James Robison, Joel Osteen, John and Carol Arnott of Catch the Fire Toronto, Geoff Tunnicliffe, head of the Worldwide Evangelical Alliance etc.) in 2014 were deeply troubling. We heard the deliberate falsehood: "Luther's protest is over" and "division is diabolical" from the Pope's friend Tony Palmer (now deceased) who was a bishop and international ecumenical officer with the independent Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches. Tony Palmer's claim that the Roman Catholic church believes in salvation by faith alone just about sums up the disinformation being promulgated by these deceivers (see Catholic Catechism Ref. Nos. 1265-1271, 1987-1995). The reasons for the Protestant Reformation remain, absolutely nothing has changed, apart from the compromise and collaboration of the Church of England and her harlot sisters in the World Council of Churches. Luther's protest can never be over for true Bible believing Christians unless the Roman Catholic Church repents, and I do not have any hope of that happening. 

CHURCHES TOGETHER

Churches Together in Britain and Ireland: "The Church: Towards a Common Vision (sometimes abbreviated to TCTCV) is a document from the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches (Faith and Order Paper No.214). Published in 2013, it was the result of many years work by representative theologians from Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant, Evangelical, Pentecostal and Roman Catholic Churches asking what can be said together about the Church and how closer mutual understanding might contribute to overcoming the obstacles standing in the way of unity between the divided Christian communities." {4}

Promoters of Leicester@theCross, Churches Together, are ecumenical, interfaith amd interreligious. They actively participate in religious pluralism through "interreligious dialogue and collaboration" - this involves validating different religions and praying with believers of other faiths. The validation of other religions/faiths is a clear departure from the apostolic teaching and is nothing short of open rebellion against God:

The "gods" of other religions are defined as demons in the Bible.

No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. (1 Corinthians 10:20)

For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. (Psalm 96:5)
   
Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. THE FALSE TEACHINGS OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

The Catholic Church is the one true church (CCC 2105), Infallibility of the Catholic Church, (CCC 2035), Only the Roman Catholic Church has authority to interpret Scripture (CCC 100), The Pope is the head of the church and has the authority of Christ (CCC 2034), The Roman Catholic Church is necessary for salvation (CCC 846), Sacred Tradition is equal to scripture (CCC 82), Forgiveness of sins, salvation, is by faith and works (CCC 2036 CCC 2080 2068), Full benefit of Salvation is only through the Roman Catholic Church (Vatican 2, Decree on Ecumenism, 3), Grace can be merited (CCC 2010 CCC 2027), The merit of Mary and the Saints can be applied to Catholics and others (1477), Penance is necessary for salvation (CCC 980), Purgatory (CCC 1031 CCC 1475), Indulgences (CCC 1471 CCC 1478 CCC 1498 CCC 1472), Mary is Mediatrix (CCC 969), Mary brings us the gifts of eternal salvation (CCC 969), Mary delivers souls from death (CCC 966), Prayer to the saints (CCC 2677), The Communion elements become the actual body and blood of Christ (CCC 1374 CCC 1376). {5}

If anyone comes with another doctrine, do not receive him....for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds (2 John 10,11).

The apostle Paul warned of such a time as this when sound doctrine is downplayed and even vilified:

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions..... (2 Timothy 4:3) 

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (Ephesians 5:11)

DO THE ABRAHAMIC FAITHS WORSHIP THE SAME GOD AS THE POPE IMPLIES?

The Abrahamic faiths may have some things in common, but they differ in one critical aspect, THE IDENTIFICATION OF JESUS CHRIST AS THE SON OF GOD - THE MESSIAH. It was Peter who confessed Jesus as the Christ, that is the promised Messiah (Matthew 16:16; Luke 9:20), the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). The Koran teaches that Jesus Christ was a prophet and that God has no son. Similarly Judaism rejects Jesus Christ as their Messiah. The sad truth is that Judaism, Islam and Christianity are irreconcileable no matter how many nice interfaith meetings take place between them.

And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him.  (Mark 8:27-30)  

For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. (2 Corinthians 1:4)

THE ANGLICANS

Justin Welby's position on many doctrinal issues is nothing short of scandalous:

• The Church of England has embraced paganism as a bone fide "religion" and is creating a Pagan church to recruit members: "Ministers are being trained to creat new forms of anglicanism suitable for people of alterntive beliefs." {6} 
• Welby has affirmed Buddhism in his statement that Prince George is "perfectly entitled" to become a Buddhist later in life!
• Welby supports homosexuality!
• Welby has removed "sin" and "rejection of the devil" from baptism! (infant baptism is unbiblical anyway).
• Welby doubts even the existence of God!

Justin Welby: "Anglicans and Roman Catholics have, since 1966, been in serious and prayerful dialogue with each other, to seek the unity that Christ wills for his church in the world," {7} 

Holy Trinity Leicester: "We believe in the power of God made available to us through the Holy Spirit and his word the Bible. These two precious gifts will be at the centre of all that we do."  {8}  

Just like the Pied Piper, John McGinley continues to lure his congregation towards spiritual death. Holy Trinity Church continues to indoctrinate its members with various false teachings, including The Alpha Course, Contemplative Prayer, Sozo (Bill Johnson Bethel Church Redding) and the ruinous teachings of Mike Breen. revelation tv: the ecumenical spirit of antichrist

Consider the people of Israel: are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar? What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. Revelation TV (RTV) continues to draw controversy due to the compromised position of Howard Conder and his associates who peddle many false Word Faith money teachers for filthy lucre (1 Timothy 3:8). The apostasy of RTV goes much deeper than the Word Faith teachers however. The above passage makes it clear that idolatry is connected with the demonic and that heathen gods are in fact demons. The ecumenical movement was always the thin end of the wedge. These days the ecumenical movement goes beyond uniting Christians throughout the world; it actively seeks to connect Protestants, Roman Catholics and non-Christian faiths through "interfaith dialogue" or "interreligious dialogue". Involvement in ecumenism necessitates a denial of the uniqueness of Jesus Christ and the Christian faith. Those involved in ecumenism must ignore the scriptural commands to maintain the purity of the gospel (Galatians 1:6-9; 2 Peter 2:1; Jude 1:3-4). RTV's ecumenical connections both abroad and within the UK make a complete sham of their profession of faith in the one true God of the Bible. RTV state on their website that there is only one God, the living and true God and that the Word of God, as revealed by the scriptures of the Holy Bible is infallible. {1} In light of RTV's clear defection from the Word of God, what do their hypocritical statements about the exclusivity of Jesus Christ really amount to?

Revelation TV publicly endorses Premier Christian Radio's shocking list of the 60 most influential so called Christians on their website. Below are just a few of the names included on the list. {2}

Insight and 20/20 Vision with Hugh Osgood 

I now turn my attention to Hugh Osgood, who has strong links with Howard Conder and a twice weekly slot on RTV.

Hugh Osgood holds a number of national and international positions within the ecumenical movement, many of which are interconnected. He is the Free Churches Moderator and a President of Churches Together in England, as well as being the Co-Chair of the UK Charismatic and Pentecostal Leaders’ Conference and serving as the founding President of Churches in Communities International. Hugh Osgood helped launch UK Christian TV Ministry (with God TV and Revelation TV). He is also the founder and senior minister of Cornerstone Christian Centre {5} The Cornerstone Christian Centre is where the so called “Elijah prophecy" was given to Howard Conder from Malaysian cult leader and proven false prophet Jonathan David in 1994. This false prophecy has given rise to Conder's delusional but persistent portrayal of himself as "a modern day Elijah" who will bring a confrontation of TRUTH of all things! {6} Conder may very well find himself on the reverse side of his so called "Elijah prophecy" since he clearly has more affinity with the prophets of Baal!

It is troubling to note that Hugh Osgood appears to be at the very epicentre of the web of activity being orchestrated by the spirit of antichrist aka the ecumenical movement:

Churches Together in England (CTE) is the successor body to the British Council of Churches. It is known as the formal "ecumenical instrument" for the agenda that the churches in England have committed themselves to in order to achieve false unity between apostate churches based on Jesus' prayer for unity (John 17:20-23) CTE member churches includes the world's largest pseudo Christian cult, Roman Catholicism. It is critical to note that Jesus' prayer for unity was conditional upon truth (John 17:17-19). Unity in the faith is impossible without being sanctified by the truth of God's Word! (Ephesians 4:14-16; 2 Timothy 1:13-14)

Free Churches Group (FCG) is an ecumenical association of Free Church denominations and Church groups who are engaged in public ministry. {7}  Many FCG churches are also CTE members. {8}

The UK Charismatic and Pentecostal Leaders’ Conference is part of Churches Together. {9}  

Churches in Communities International, (CiC International) is affiliated to Churches Together {10}

Hugh Osgood's ministry is facilitated by Charis Communications where he holds the position of Executive Chair. {11} Charis Communications have worked with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, Churches Together, Revelation TV, Assemblies of God UK, Billy Graham Mission, the Evangelical Alliance and many others. {12}

Hugh Osgood is also Patron of Inform (Information Network on Religious Movements) which is involved with the Church of England, the Greek Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church, the Free Churches Group etc. {13} 

"Hugh's responsibilities now extend across London, the UK and, through the work of Charis Communications and Churches in Communities he provides oversight for churches and charities in Africa, Asia, America and the UK. He is an Apostolic Teacher of the Word and we are grateful to have regular access to his wisdom and insight." {14}

Just a reminder..

The Charity Commission's statutory inquiry into Revelation Foundation was opened on the 8th of September 2014 and is yet to release its findings.

"In March 2014 complaints were received from members of the public alleging the charity was being used for private advantage. A subsequent scrutiny of the charity’s accounts by the commission identified regulatory concerns which include potential significant loss of charitable funds, trustee benefits, conflicts of interest and connected party transactions. These concerns are primarily in relation to the production and broadcasting of television programmes from Spain as well as the trustees’ decisions to transfer significant charitable assets and funds from the UK to Spain." {15} 

Howard and Lesley Conder own a private TV company called 21st Century Television Ltd which sells Revelation TV’s airtime. Revelation TV's Programme-Guide from their website displays many non-Revelation TV programmes they air.  In January 2015, a conservative guesstimate on the assumption that everyone purchasing air time paid the lowest rate (£250 for 28mins = £500 per hour) 60 x £500 = £30,000 per week =
£1,560,000 per year......... 

These monies do NOT appear on the INCOME/EXPENDITURE pie charts presented by Gordon Pettie. This is very misleading to viewers who are under the impression that Revelation TV are desperately in need of donations. {16}

Share International is the organization promoting Maitreya, the so-called impending "Avatar for the Aquarian Age" via his envoy, "futurist" Benjamin Crème who makes the following claims: 

"Many now expect the return of their awaited Teacher, whether they call him the Christ, the Messiah, the fifth Buddha, Krishna, or the Imam Mahdi. Millions now know that the one who fulfils all these expectations, Maitreya, the World Teacher, is already living among us and is gradually emerging into full public recognition.

Maitreya is the Teacher for all humanity – those of all spiritual traditions, and those who follow no particular faith. He does not come as a religious leader but as an educator in the broadest sense.

Maitreya has not come alone, but with a group of wise men, the Masters of Wisdom, who have long worked from behind the scenes as the inspirers, teachers and guides of humanity. They are returning to the everyday world to help us solve our most critical global problems." {1}

Universalism is the belief that all world religions lead to God and that all men are predestined for salvation. Crème's theology is very appealing in that it eliminates the necessity of making a decision about the exclusivity of one particular doctrine as encompassing truth. However, this view is completely at odds with the Bible which claims to be the only source of truth that people can rely on. Pilate asked Jesus Christ: "What is truth?" - it is speculated that he asked the question in contempt and did not wait for an answer (John 18:38). In fact, Jesus Christ declared himself to be objective truth to the exclusion of all others (John 14:6). He said that all who came before him were thieves and robbers.. (John 10:8). Going even further, the scriptures associate pagan gods with demons, and they are further referred to as strange gods, foreign gods, abominations and idols (1 Corinthians 10:20; Psalm 95:5;  Deuteronomy 31:16; Leviticus 17:7).

False christs and false prophets were wholly anticipated by Jesus Christ and the apostles, hence the explicit warnings about those proclaiming a different Jesus, a different spirit and a different gospel (Matthew 24:24; 1 John 2:18; 1 Timothy 6:3; 2 Corinthians 11:4). For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11). Antichrist not only means “against Christ”, it also means “in the place of Christ”. The Bible prophesies an ultimate satanic deception of global proportions in the last days culminating in the man variously known as the man of lawlessness, the man of sin, the son of perdition, the Antichrist, with accompanying signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9). Maitreya, the so called “Christ”, perfectly fits the predictions of this charismatic individual who will appear on the world scene, initially as a supreme political leader and accepted by many as "saviour", until he removes his mask.

Maitreya is the "Christ" figure within a satanic "trinity" of supreme beings, Sanat Kumara “Lord of the World” being the “Father figure” and Lucifer being the LOGOS, the third Ruler. Underneath this counterfeit "godhead" are a hierarchy of wise men, Masters of Wisdom aka Ascended Masters. Benjamin Crème's theology is directly linked to the works of confessed Luciferians Helena Blavatsky and Alice Bailey whose writings were dictated to them from various Ascended Masters. Christians are directed to test all things throughout he scriptures (1 Thessalonians 5:21), it can easily be shown that these so-called "Rulers" and "Ascended Masters" are in fact fallen angels. Incidentally, the scriptures warn of a satanic hierarchy of rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers over this present darkness, spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).

Benjamin Crème proclaims himself the messenger of Maitreya in much the same role as John the Baptist, the messenger who prepared the way for Jesus Christ in the scriptures (Malachi 3:1; Isaiah 40:3; Matthew 3:3; 11:10). Crème has been promoting the appearance of the so called World Teacher, Maitreya, through Share International since 1975. He travels extensively as a speaker and lecturer promoting Maitreya, claiming to be in direct telepathic contact with a Master of Wisdom who gives him access to up-to-date information on Maitreya's emergence. Crème has been a lifelong student of the writings of Helena Blavatsky and Alice Bailey, both of whom were Luciferians.

Share International dismisses the Biblical account of Lucifer or Satan and his relationship with human beings as a complete misinterpretation. Lucifer is described as a great Angel of Light:

"Lucifer is the name of a great Angel, not an upstart in heaven who revolted against God and was put down into the nether regions as the Devil. That is a complete misinterpretation. Lucifer means light, and comes from the Latin lux, lucis, meaning light. It is the name of the Angel Who ensouls the human kingdom; every person, therefore, is a fragment of Lucifer. According to the esoteric teaching, the human souls individualized 18-and-a-half million years ago. Lucifer, the Oversoul, diversified itself, and each fragment became individualized."

These individualized human souls descended from the soul plane into incarnation. The 'fall' of Adam and Eve from paradise is the symbolic representation of this event; it has nothing to do with the Devil or with Lucifer as an evil entity but with the divine nature of humanity itself as souls.”{2} 

Both Helena Blavatsky and Alice Bailey claimed to have received teachings from "ascended master" Djwal Khul who is professed by theosophists to work on furthering the spiritual evolution of our planet. Alice Bailey authored twenty four books published by the Lucis Trust (formerly Lucifer Publishing) telepathically through Djwal Khul.

The Great Invocation is a mantra channelled to Alice Bailey in 1937 through Djwal Kuhl. Translated into over eighty languages, it is aggressively promoted by the Lucis Trust and Share International as a New Age alternative to the Lord's Prayer. Share International describe the Great Invocation as a daily potent technique of invoking the energies which would transform the world and prepare for the coming of Maitreya, the Christ.{3}

Alice Bailey: "This new Invocation, if given widespread distribution, can be to the new world religion what the Lord's Prayer has been to Christianity and the twenty-third Psalm has been to the spiritually minded Jew."{4}

World Invocation Day aka the Christ Festival/The Festival of Goodwill has been observed every year by millions of people since 1952 on the day of the June full moon. This year it will be held on May 21st. Those participating in this day are encouraged to use the Great Invocation as a vehicle to lay the groundwork for Maitreya's coming: "The Great Invocation was given to humanity by Maitreya the Christ as a potent technique of invoking the energies which would transform the world and prepare for his coming." {5} Light is a major theme of the invocation, a reference to Lucifer (Hebrew helel) meaning "shining one, light bearer" (Isaiah 14:12). This is consistent with Paul's description of Satan as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Lucis Trust: "It (the Great Invocation) is an instrument of power to aid the Plan of God find full expression on Earth." {6}

Alice Bailey: "Prepare men for the reappearance of the Christ. This is your first and greatest duty. The most important part of that work is teaching men—on a large scale—to use the Invocation so that it becomes a world prayer and focusses the invocative demand of humanity." {7}

H Blavatsky: “Lucifer is divine and terrestrial light, the 'Holy Ghost' and 'Satan,' at one and the same time... And now it stands proven that Satan, or the Red Fiery Dragon... and Lucifer, or 'Light-Bearer,' is in us: it is our Mind -- our tempter and Redeemer, our intelligent liberator and Saviour from pure animalism..." {8}

Alice Bailey: "It is these Mysteries which Christ will restore upon His reappearance..... thus reviving the churches in a new form, and restoring the hidden Mystery." {9}

The above quote by Alice Bailey is very alarming when we consider that ecumenism, New Age Eastern mysticism and Gnosticism are flooding most Christian denominations, including the evangelical church at the expense and neglect of the Word of God.

"Share International Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) in association with the Department of Public Information at the United Nations." {10} 

Benjamin Crème: "Through the Masonic initiation and certain esoteric groups will come the process of initiation. In this coming age millions of people will take the first and second initiation through these transformed and purified institutions." {11} 

Albert Pike: "LUCIFER, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light…Doubt it not!" {12} 

Interestingly, Crème states that Maitreya will not be a "religious leader".  The biblical description of ten horns and seven heads indicates that the Antichrist, aka the beast, will be a political leader. He will achieve worldwide control through his plan for "peace". The false prophet, the second beast, will be a religious figure however, giving supposed "authenticity" to the first beast through signs and wonders (Revelation 13:13). The Antichrist will demand worship and he will set up the abomination of desolation halfway through a seven-year treaty with many (Israel).  (Daniel 9:27; 11:31; Matthew 24:15; Revelation 13:12-15). This will mark the beginning of the great tribulation halfway through Daniel's seventieth week (Matthew 24:21).

Maitreya calculates to 666 both in Hebrew and Greek. In fact all seven variations of the spelling of Maitreya in the Hebrew calculate to 666.

Maitreya’s official logo incorporates a central swastika and supposedly symbolises the uniting of all the major religions, with the hexagram representing the foundation of this unity. Incidentally, the hexagram is one of the most powerful satanic symbols.

Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666. (Revelation 13:16-18)

British-born American Raj Patel has been singled out by Crème as a candidate for Maitreya following an announcement of Maitreya's first public appearance in January 2010. In some ways Raj Patel does seem to have the right credentials for Maitreya, though I would not hang this diabolic label on him as others have. Patel is an award-winning writer, activist, and academic with a formidable CV. He has been employed by the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, and the United Nations.{13} His itinerary includes speaking events at various academic institutions including The Whole Earth Summit about Love, Purpose, & the Food Movement {14} Patel's book Stuffed and Starved is said to be: "The product of a brilliant mind, and a gift to a world hungering for justice."{15} Actually Patel has denied being Maitreya - he refers to himself as an athiest Hindu. Oddly enough though, his denial may add to the speculation rather than quell it: He (the beast) will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the desire of women, nor will he show regard for any other god; for he will magnify himself above them all. (Daniel 11:38) Certainly, I can see the reasons for the speculations about Raj Patel, but it is premature to theorize at this point. If he begins to gain momentum in the political arena, and in particular within the United Nations, then I may begin to wonder. My own view is that the identity of the Antichrist will be revealed by Christ to the faithful believers before the prewrath rapture. (2 Thessalonians 2:3). 

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. (Matthew 24:3-5) 

The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2 :9-12) 

This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:11-12) 

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

beware of brian gemmell's deviant pre-tribulation rapture heresy

This post is a refresher of one I previously wrote in 2013 which warned about Brian Gemmell's eschatological (end time) rapture theory.

Brian Gemmell (BG) was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1950. His family background is from the Exclusive Brethren going back to his grandparents.{1} He now describes himself as a full time itinerant Christian teacher with a particular interest in end time events. {2} 

Alarmingly, BG not only promotes the pre-tribulation rapture theory, which in my view is false, he goes one step further in that he promotes a deviant pre-trib eschatological doctrine based on the teachings of Paine and Ware.

BG: "Jesus will be with the bride on earth for a period of time, 10 days before the collective gathering together in the air." {3} This very serious error is based on an unbalanced obsession with chronology and numerology at the expense of the clear teaching of the Bible. It originated with Paine & Ware in the early part of the last century. Ware made the prediction that the rapture would take place on June 12th 1933, when this failed he revised his chronology and decided that it would happen around 1945.

The scriptures make it clear that believers will meet the Lord in the air, not on the earth. 

Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

Biblically the rapture will happen in an instant, in the blink of an eye: 

.....in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:52) The Bible gives no indication whatsoever that there will be a time lapse of ten days before believers join the dead in Christ.

The implications of BG's theology about the rapture are very dangerous, as Pastor Bill Randles of Believers in Grace Ministries explains: 

Brian Gemmell Teachings Removed ~ 2013 
"It is with a heavy heart that I must distance myself, for the time being, from Brian Gemmell's teaching ministry. Although I count him as a dear friend, Brian has propagated a teaching about the rapture that I would consider erroneous. In his series, "Order, Order, Order!", he teaches that Jesus will return ten days before the rapture, to appear among the churches giving us a chance to "get our houses in order". This denies the imminency of the rapture, and the fact that we don't know when our Master is coming. Furthermore, and perhaps most troubling, Brian teaches that the "dead in Christ will rise up at that time and there will be the chance for them to 'settle' unsettled accounts with the saints". Myself and Jacob Prasch have been working to restore Brian, whom we count as a dear friend, so we covet your prayers. Sincerely, Pastor Bill Randles."  {4} 

Philip Powell, Christian Witness Ministries: "It is with sadness, careful consideration, and humility that we write that Brian Gemmell has adopted a serious and fundamental error and poses such a danger to the people of God. In his DVD, "Order, Order, Order!", Brian teaches that Christ will return ten days before the catching away of believers in the same human form in which He appeared after His resurrection and before His ascension....."  {5}

Jacob Prasch has also rejected the teaching of Paine & Ware as: - "A false eschatology that is plainly heretical, potentially cultic and ultimately lethal." {6}

PWMI: "We therefore warn our readers against the teachings of Ware & Paine as we did 80 years ago and beware of those who peddle them. Let us remember that 'no man knows the day or the hour-only our Father in heaven'." {7}

The Bible warns us that false Christ's will appear but that we must not go after them:  

And he said to the disciples, “The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or ‘Look, here!’ Do not go out or follow them. For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. (Luke 17/22-24; Matthew 24/24,26)

BG also questions the omnipresent nature of Jesus Christ:

“He is forever a man. He has divested himself forever of a particular attribute. He will always have his omnipotence and his omniscience. But his omnipresence he has limited because he is in a body, forever in a body and he will express his presence through this great body, the body of believers.” {8} 

We cannot say that Christ has divested himself forever of the attribute of omnipresence - this is a very serious error. Jesus Christ's human nature is not omnipresent, but his divine nature is. It is the one person of Christ who shares both natures (communicatio idiomatum) and it is the one person who is omnipresent.

The following quote shows that BG's eschatological view is not based on the scriptures but on "the Math". 

February 3, 2011 at 10:37am: 

"Excellent dear brother. Not much longer to wait now. The night is far spent and the day is at hand. Some watchers in the UK are convinced that the rescue of the Chilean miners was a sign of the coming Resurrection, particularly with the many biblical numbers associated with the event ,not least 33. The Lord Jesus was 33 at the time of His resurrection. A symbolic number of the church at the beginning of her life at Pentecost was 120…the no. in the upper room. Symbolic number at the end of the age when the Bridegroom returns and our “fast” is broken but the “net” is not… John 21 is 153. You do the Math!! In Jesus, Maranatha, Brian Gemmell" {9}

BG promoted The Restored Vision by A.E. Ware on the 17th of May 2013: 

"The Greek word translated 'week" is in its Anglicised version " sabbations" which is itself the Hellenised Hebrew word Sabbaths. Note that this is in the plural, hence weeks. The reference is to the first day of the Feast of Weeks, the 7x7 weeks ( 49 days) between Firstfruits and the 50th day, Pentecost.

Lev 23 outlines the festal calendar and this covers the whole period of the barley and wheat harvest. At Pentecost 2 loaves are waived before the Lord signifying the completion of the harvest and offering the Lord the first finished bread. A fuller teaching is contained in "The Restored Vision" by A.E. Ware. (Available from me for 8.50 + P&P).” {10} 

In 2013, I contacted the General Director of the PWMI, Colin Le Noury, for clarification - he replied:

“Brian Gemmell's ministry is NOT acceptable within PWMI and all Branch Secretaries have been advised not to book him. I have told Neville that if he insists on booking BG then it must not be under the PWMI banner. Yes we do stand opposed to Ware & Paine teaching and have done for 80 years...... Brian Gemmell's ministry is no longer acceptable and he has been removed some time ago from our Recommended Preachers List........ 

We actually removed BG two years ago (I think we were ahead of everyone!).” 

At that time Neville Stephens was the Newport Branch Secretary of the PWMI. There was clearly a conflict of loyalties in his promotion of BG, hence the above missive. Nev Stephens  has since informed me that BG's visit was not advertised under the banner of the PWMI:

NS: "He (Colin LeNoury) had no control over me to arrange and publicise 'Bible Prophecy Meetings' in my region, and this I did with his full knowledge. He did not like it, but as long as I did not have these people speaking under 'a PWMI banner' he tolerated the situation."

Nev Stephens is a personal friend of BG and is the administrator of his website. He continues to recklessly put the Body of Christ at risk by promoting BG, preferring the friendship of a heretic rather than the clear teaching of Jesus Christ! (Matthew 10:34-39) Nev Stephens no longer represents the PWMI.

ORDER, ORDER, ORDER: The Sequence And Structure Of The Rapture. This is a four message study DVD given by Brian, and this provoking and challenging ministry asks Christians to examine and test the traditional held view of the sequence of events leading up to the Rapture of The Bride Of Christ to heaven. A thought-provoking and very intriguing study of the end time events on the calendar of the Lord. {11}

I received the following comment on my previous post: 

"I have been a personal friend of BG for some 38 years. But I had to stand on the truth of Scripture above friendship and I and some close friends challenged Brian on these issues back in May last year. 
I had first become aware of problems with Brian, not because of doctrine, but because of some very ungodly behaviour. I refrain from going into details as we feel that this has been detailed enough now to those who are concerned more closely with BG, mainly those on the council of Bible I was personally denounced by BPF (British Prophecy Foundation).
It should be noted that because of the growing controversy over Brian that BPF had to officially remove Brian from the council and that all mention of Brian removed from their website, except in the links page. However, Brian has informed me personally that he is still attending BPF council meetings. From what Brian has told me personally it appears that Brian is still as much involved with BPF as ever Two council members resigned over the fact that the rest of the council would not make a stand against Brian's heretical teaching.
Brian's heretical teaching is not just limited to the 10 days before the rapture. His teaching on Numerology verges on the occult. I have spoken to Brian about this. I did also advice him that his sources for numerology were at fault. 
Not only is some teaching doctrinally wrong, But he makes claims that are false on some of his recordings, basically he is prepared to lie to make something sound more sensational.
Brian lives in York and belongs to no Church. Though I have heard reports that he falsely claims to attend a certain Church I am quite familiar with. 
Brian can be a very charming and convincing man. But that is just a front. Ultimately he is a man seeking to promote himself and his "ministry", he is seeking his glory rather than to glorify God.
It is sad to see such bad behaviour among Christians. I was the one who started the challenge against Brian Gemmell. A few close friends in discernment ministry taking the lead from the information I provided.
The response we received included personal denouncements, threats of legal action (not against myself), lies and malicious emails. A host of dirty tricks. We may not have all handled things in the best manner, but we did not deserve the nature of the attacks that were made against us.
It is tragic that those who call themselves Christian and run Christian ministries, pastor Churches can behave in such an ungodly manner
I have gone as far as I am able with Brian. I would though ask that you continue to watch the news of BG. I am leaving all in the hand of the Lord. I doubt that there is much else I can do...." {12} 

I have been contacted by Nev Stephens today (16th February) with regard to some of the links on this post being "obsolete". When I posted this article, just a few days ago, the links were tested and active. I now begin to understand the difficulties of xxxxx when he referred to: ".....personal denouncements, threats of legal action, lies and malicious emails. A host of dirty tricks."

Brian Gemmell - 10 days

So what I’m seeking to show you from the Scripture, something that Roger Price in a tape surprised me with, what does he mean, and it’s that chance remark of Roger Price’s on a tape years ago that got me on to this inquiry when he said ‘Jesus owes us nine days’. When in fact, it is 10 days, nine complete days and a part-day no doubt. Jesus will be with the bride on earth for a period of time, 10 days before the collective gathering together in the air. How will he be? What form will he take? Well he will only take the same form as he is because He is the Lord Jesus Christ. He’s not some kind of spiritual chameleon. He is forever a man. He has divested himself forever of a particular attribute. He will always have his omnipotence and his omniscience. But his omnipresence he has limited because he is in a body, forever in a body and he will express his presence through this great body, the body of believers. Of course when you look at his appearances in the 40 days, the Lord Jesus is only ever in one place at one time, he appears to the disciples and he disappears, he appears and he disappears, he appears and he disappears.
In the next couple of sessions when we want to learn something about the occurrences of what actually happens and what is the purpose of these 10 days, one of the dramas that we will look at will be the 40 days of his walking post-resurrection here on the earth because what he will do in the 10 days to complete that period will of course be continuous with what he did in the previous 40 days – speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God, giving instructions and so on.
Of course there’s something interesting to consider, we noted in Hebrews 12 [v22-23] … and now listen … This is an event that has to take place at the end of the church age because it’s to the general assembly of the church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven. It is absolutely inclusive. And the general assembly of all those registered in heaven can’t yet take place because there are still some people who are being and who are to be saved and thereby registered as part of this body.
And so Jesus leaves early on the disciples on the 40th day and not on the 50th day. Time is split and it’s split for the dispensation of the church to begin. There’s a duration of a set length known only to God. We know there is a set length because concluding it will be a judgment and God has said he has set a day, Acts 17. God has set a day that is a terminal appointment set. And all that has to happen prior to that including going out of the Gentiles of people for his name and taking them away will take place within a set period from the Pentecost date when the church began to a date predating the set appointment for judgment. There’s gonna be a handover from the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit will hand the Bride of Christ over to the son. You see that beautifully in the story of Isaac and Rebecca where the servant takes her on the camels over the desert. It happens to be a 10 day journey, we’ll look at that on another occasion. And then when Isaac appears on the field, he says ‘This is my master’ and he directs the bride to the master as he has done throughout the whole of that wonderful story and drama as the holy spirit has done to the bride of Christ, not speaking of himself but always directing to teach all thing of Christ to the believers. And in this Gentile world he has called out this unique gathering of people, he has put them on a basis in Romans 9 tells of basis of the Hebrews Scriptures, the Father, the covenant and the Jewish Messiah. The Scripture tells us clearly Acts 15 v 14…[-17] Of course that is beautifully seen in Ephesians 5 that this gathering people that God has called out is uniquely fashioned S(1.16).
Sequence and Structure of the Rapture, Disc 2 (1.6.26-)
Israel, they are the nation with whom he will deal nationally in the tribulation period and whom he will save. There must be witnesses to what happens. Everything that God does when he gives testimony there’s always at least a double witness and the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses is a thing established. We have in the tribulation a witness to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, a witness to the disappearance from off the place of this planet, of millions and millions of believers in the Lord Jesus.
And also a witness to God’s righteous defence of Israel and the works that he would do on behalf of Israel, some of which we would see expressed in Ezekiel 38, when God comes to the deliverance of Israel at a time of invasion from the north, from Russia, Iran, Lybia and so on. There will be witnesses, they would have seen and heard and they expressed. There is a triple witness in the tribulation. There are the 2 characters of Revelation 11, who if they are not actually Moses and Elijah, actually are in the spirit of Moses and Elijah. They are characteristic of Moses and Elijah. And then there are 144,000 Jewish men, 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel and again they’re witnesses. We tend sometimes to colloquially to call them 144,000 evangelists because they do seem to have an evangelical mission. But they are to witness to the truth. They have seen it, they have heard it. They are saying this is the truth.
It is my belief that during this period when the ecclesia is packing up and getting ready to depart permanently, well until they return with the Lord Jesus, but permanently from this dispensation, that witnesses must be left behind. It is interesting of the 144,000, I think they will have to go by 2. The Lord Jesus sent the 70 or 72 out 2 by 2. It is interesting that 2, you divide 144,000, that’s 72,000 of course and the choffar, that trumpet, that word is used 72 times in the Scriptures. It’s an interesting number. But they’ve got to go out with a testimony and with a witness. And I think it is very likely that one of the things that many of our believing brethren in the land of Israel and no doubt elsewhere, but particularly in the land of Israel, would have to do is prepare those folks during those 10 days to take up this baton.
It would appear that some would have already been prepared. We know of contacts with the orthodox community in Israel where there are people who at least cerebrally and intellectually are accepting that the Lord Jesus Christ was Messiah. Now there are variations. I know personally of an Orthodox rabbi who was visiting Northern Ireland for various reasons a few years ago and attended a church where my friends attend and he came out of there. He went there out of politeness. He listened to most of it. When it came to the Lord’s supper he went and just stood outside. As they were going back with my friend who was doing him some favour so he was trying to be nice. But I believe he was absolutely genuine when he said with some shock, ‘The Spirit of the Lord was there.’ Partially blinded, partially hardened. A preparatory work is already under way.
And I would ask you, a slight smile on my face, where are you going to find 144,000 Jewish, male virgins in the hedonistic society of Israel? Where are you? It is going to have to be within the orthodox community I believe, both there and in Europe and the USA, that these tribes folk will be brought together and given their commission.
So wondering what’s going to go on in that period, then there is the handover/takeover, just in the same there was a period of transition in the New Testament, in the book of Acts we can see it, we see the disciples of John right up into Acts 19. Everything was set up by John the Baptist, for the Lord Jesus, made ready. And in that making ready, a people were prepared who eventually became the disciples of the Lord Jesus. And so at the close of the age, we have a similar role, to hand over the baton of witness and testimony and the good news of the saving power of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ to another group. And I think too, there is a personal role for each of us in this handover. In many ways someone is going to pick up where Israel left off in 33 AD when the handover was to the church. And so we’ve got a situation developing in the church today, where there is within the body of Christ, a large number of believers who can reach out in an unthreatening way into the Jewish community. How valuable these brethren will be and frequently it is those who have an awareness of the nearness of the Lord’s coming. It was how I got into the end times business in the first place, reading things on Israel, and coming to an understanding about Israel, reading Lydia Prince’s book on Israel had a formative effect on how I think and lead me towards end times. And so it is with this access into these Jewish communities throughout the world, that in that 10 day period, this most shocking and revolutionary message can be given and it will be proven to be true within 10 days.
But what about you? What about you? There isn’t time for us to look extensively at Enoch. I mentioned in the last session folklore that relates his birth and his translation to Pentecost. But very clearly, Enoch is a man, a single individual who walks with God, he knew what was happening, representative of the body of Christ, taken off the face of the planet before the coming judgment, the flood. He knew about judgment, he knew about the second coming, he knew about the flood because he names his son Methuselah, it will happen after his death. He knew about the second coming. We know that from the book of Jude. Enoch the 7th from Adam, prophesied about these men, about the apostates, about all the ungodly things that they had done in an ungodly way and in ungodly manner they had spoke against him and the Lord is coming and judgment of the thousand and thousand of his saints. He knew about the second coming. He’s a real classic picture of the body of Christ. And I love what the dear Chuck Mister says, it just so endears me. They were walking together, and God almighty and Enoch, and God said to Enoch, will you come home to my place, and Enoch said, yes please. And I add my little bit, and put the kettle on. Wonderful union and remember they walked together for 300 years. He knew God well and God knew him well. A lovely picture of the era of the church.
But he left behind a testimony. Have you? Get it ready, don’t wait till the 10 days. Write letters, have them ready for posting, make DVDs, make CDs. Warn and inform your friends now. Tell people about the rapture now. Leave behind a testimony that when you’ve gone the area in which you use to inhabit, the space that is now vacated still has the aroma and scent of the Lord Jesus and a witness. My wife and I and my children have a box full of letters in our house, ready to be posted during that 10-day period. I wrote them before I understood about this 10-day period and in fact I earmarked one of my previous employees with certain promises that he would inherit. My real collection as it happens. He would post these letters for me, his services, if he had gotten saved or does get saved and that is needed, will be replaced by someone else. But I suspect they would be redundant in the light of my understanding now.
So Enoch left behind a Methuselah statement. There was which he had done in his life that did not come to fruition until after he had been taken away. The lineage of Noah that got through the tribulation in the ark and we need to make sure that our lives are savoured and flavoured with the Lord Jesus Christ and the next big event that Jesus Christ will do is return for the church and the subsequent events. And it will take faith and blushing and embarrassment to tell people because some people will think you’re mad. You’ll get more resistance from Christians, and pseudo-Christians and back-sliden Christians than you will from worldly people, that I will tell you. There is an opening. I’ve been privileged to lead a number of people to the Lord Jesus who are now pressing on with these messages by telling them about the Second Coming and then coming to the point by saying, You have heard enough about that, you need to come to Calvary’s cross. Are you leaving behind a Methuselah? Have you got a lineage of activity that will result in those when they come to the point in the tribulation, of getting into the ark, an understanding about Israel.
Tell people, warn people, you will be unpopular. But tell and warn people. Do no ill to Jewish people. Stand by Israel. Warn them about the mark of the Beast, warn them that the whole world will be against Israel. But may they be those who find themselves amongst the sheep who did good for his brethren, who looked after the Jewish people and stood by them. Their faith in that tribulation time will be Messianic. You will not be able to be a believer in the Lord Jesus in the tribulation without having a clear link with Israel, her king Messiah and the people. Leave behind a Methuselah and a Noah message with your life and start today to get it ready. Immediately this DVD comes to conclusion, do something, write a letter to an unsaved friend and write a letter to an unsaved family and do one everyday until you’ve completed the whole of your circle.
Now we need to turn to 2 Kings 2. This is where Elijah ascends to heaven. It’s another picture. And I only want to highlight a couple of things. That is that on the day the Lord Jesus ascended, he clearly told the disciples, ‘I’m going’. And they visibly watched him. On the day that Elijah ascended, a number of people knew, those who were prophetic, those who had an eye for spiritual things.
I have been very interested in the last few weeks here at the end of 2008, in a number of Jewish people, rabbis, including a liberal lady rabbi, not exactly the kind of person I would expect to hear this from, who are anticipating the coming of the Messiah shortly. There are going to be people in this world today, within Israel, within the Jewish community, hardened in part, blinded in part, now being softened and prepared. And what are they understanding? They are understanding things about the temple. They’re understanding that it is the Messianic era, when the numbers despite poor advertising, the numbers of temple faithful expecting 500,000 at the very most, were almost overwhelmed when 5,000 people turned up because of the messianic expectancy. There is a prophetic expectancy.
The Lord Jesus warned the disciples. We will have warning that we are going and we can see this with Elijah. Elijah knew it was time to go, running alongside him was Elisha. And Elisha was told and the prophets and the sons of the prophets knew what was going on. And they visibly watched him go, Elisha did. And as a result of seeing that departure, he got the garment, he got the cloak, it fell on him, it became his responsibility. Further more, he had a double portion of the Spirit that was on Elijah, the Spirit of the Lord that had graced Elijah came upon him and his miraculous events under the power of the Spirit of God were doubled with that of Elijah.
In that 10-day period, there will be, I believe, an opportunity for believers particularly in association with the Jewish people, to convey to them the witness and truths of the Scriptures that are absolutely necessary for them to continue throughout the tribulation with the salvation message. And just as the proof of the rapture would take us at the end of a set period, so they can enter into this excruciating time of judgment. There will never be one like it before, there will never be one like it after. They will know that just as our conclusion was to the glory of God and to our redemption and salvation, so they can hold on until the end. Remember, Elisha saw it. Some are going to witness what goes on.
We already mentioned about the apostle Paul and the spectacular events that surrounded the visit of the Lord Jesus Christ to this planet to set up the order, sequence and structure of the Church. Paul says when he’s talking about the rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4, he doesn’t tell us where it happens and exactly when but he tells us very specifically that he says this, ‘by the word of the Lord, God the Lord Jesus Christ had spoken to him’ and given him an advance warning. This advance warning brings order and we can see that we can be setting on an order that we can continue after our departure. It has to be like that. It always has been. God doesn’t use magic wands and cartoon figures. It’s all very, very practical.
Now I want to read a verse from Revelation 19:7. I want to relate that back to Ephesians 5:25-27. The Lord Jesus means what he says, and he says what he means. We see in Revelation, the bride making herself ready. Those of you who have been married and this particular lady who I am looking at to me, spend a lot of time getting ready and for various events still does. The bride makes herself ready for the groom. Now here, we’re not talking about a physical readiness but a moral readiness. At the level of our spirits, we are washed with the blood of the lamb. On the daily tramp through life, our souls and to a certain extent even our bodies gets sullied, and we have the washing of the water of the word which needs to be throughout the whole of our salvation of the soul-lifetime-experience. We press on, it says in Hebrews, of those to the salvation of the soul, we are not those who fall back but those who press on to the salvation of the soul. That our whole personality and being, our self might be made like Christ. And of course we are fitted and saved, made ready for heaven by the blood of the Lord Jesus, by his finished work on Calvary, not by our works. Nothing that is sinful can enter heavenly presence. Nothing that God would disapprove of can be seen before him and so all our sins are washed away. And at that moment when we are caught up in the air and no doubt stewarded, and ordered, in we go, I don’t know if our new names will be in badges or what I don’t know but we will be stewarded and ordered into the realms of glory and then a series of events will take place there. And our sins are washed away. And our relationship with God the Father, through the Lord Jesus Christ is absolutely crystal clear and pristine and beautiful.
Ah but what about our relationships with one another? What about the broken relationships, the sins against one another, the sins against those who have probably passed on before? What about the sins between those who passed before? There is a glorious opportunity in that 10-day period for the bride to make herself ready so that having washed her with the word, when he presents her to himself a glorious Church, he does so without spot, without any sense of impurity, without any wrinkle, without any weariness or ageing, the result of fears or trials, or any such thing. And so we read about the bride making herself ready. And this of course is absolutely vital. Because we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus and put right with God, through him, through the Lord Jesus Christ. A relationship with God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ is without shadow, is absolutely clear, beautiful and pristine. There’s nothing between us and God. Right now there isn’t and there won’t be on that glorious day.
But what about the things that are between us now? What about the things that are between us and those that have passed on? Or even between those who have passed on, between them that were never resolved before the grave? There is a glorious and wonderful opportunity for the bride to make herself ready in that 10-day period to get ready for meeting the groom, absolutely perfect, to put on the veil as Rebecca did before Isaac. So that when he presents her, having washed her with the water of the word which should be our daily experience, having washed her with the water of the word, then he can present her to himself a glorious Church. Glorious, received up into glory which we will be on that wave-offering day, the completed bread loaves. Not having any spot of impurity in our relationships, nothing that is within us that cannot go in to glory. No virus, no infection of this world, no wrinkles, no weariness, nothing which has aged us nor worn us down in relationships, those relationship that have ground on day in and day out, that made you weary, need to be put right or any such thing. So that when she is drawn into his presence, it is with completely without blemish.
[Ephesians 5:28-29]. The Lord loves and cherishes the Church. He is going to present her to himself free of everything. There are some things that have to be left behind here on terra firma. So he comes to the field, and she puts on the veil and then he takes her up to Sarah’s tent. All of this is for our blessing, a time to put things right on earth before our translation to the general Assembly of the Church of the firstborn register in heaven. No spots, no wrinkles, holy and without blemish. And that’s not just because of the blood of the Lamb and our relationship with him but because of confession to one another.
Jesus will he visit everyone? Well, I think I’ve already dealt with that. There is going to be a sea of activity. The precedent of course is in the 40 days. The Lord Jesus did not appear to everyone who was his disciple or who would become his disciples in that 40-day period. It was selective. And the bulk, all that we’re intended to know, the bulk of it of course is in 1 Corinthians 15. Who were the over-500 at once, it’s not catalogued for us. But there were considerable numbers. But that’s given as evidence of the resurrection and I’m using it to show you that there was selectivity based on divine sovereignty. But over 500 at once is a spectacular number, that’s a goodly number. And if that is repeated on a regular basis, of gatherings of God’s people, it won’t be long in that period, with the technology that is available today, for this information to wheel around the world within 2 or 3 days.
I suspect there will be 3 days because the 10 seem to be split on occasions into 3 and 7. I suspect and I’m here honestly being I hope biblically inspired to be speculative in a holy manner. I’m being speculative but I suspect there will be 3 days of fearsome and ferocious activity from cell phones to internet, to landlines, you name it. It will just fearsomely go round the world with great joy and excitement. And then 7 days of pensive settling and obedience and service before we’re caught up to meet the Lord in the air.
I pointed out that the Lord Jesus was never seen in 2 places at once in that period of time of the 40 days and I do not expect that that will be the case. He is in a human body. However, many saints were raised and they visited many. And I think they will be recognised and they came with testimony and such a thing could be true today. It will only be the saints because it is only the dead in Christ that will be raised. And so they will have testimony of the truth and can go round as representatives of what has happened and of resurrection, handing out to us the implied and certain promise of our translation at the end of that period.
Some people are worried. Could we not be deceived? Satan can appear as an angel of light. Yes, he can but Satan cannot raise the dead. Nor can he blow the divine trumpet which will affect at the deepest level of your spirit, quiver through your soul and shake your body, bones and all when that trump sounds from heaven. Read at Sinai what it did to the people. They wanted it to stop. It will be an earth-shattering event to those who are spiritual. The spiritual man discerns all things and is discerned of no-one. There will be church-going people, Evangelical churches, Pentecostal, Charismatic fellowships, there will be people in there who will not hear because tragically with the diluted Gospel message so-called that has been propagated in the late 20th and early 21stCentury, there are many who sit in Evangelical pews or Pentecostal seats or in Charismatic fellowships on comfortable sofas who have not known the Saviour as personal Saviour and Lord. They have not met him at the cross. Beloved, there are a lot of evangelicalised pagans in the public Evangelical church. They will be some of those who will be most greatly and painfully affected in that 10-day period. I’m sure there are some of them or maybe I should say some of you who in that 10-day period will wish, wish, wish that you had received Christ before but will grasp him with both hands at that time and will hold on to a faith that may well cost you your physical life and protect you from taking the mark of the Beast. And you will have to continue and hold till the end. But there will be in that 10-day period the opportunity for the believer in the Lord Jesus, having dealt with other things to conclude his evangelism, having to change it because it is you who will go to Jesus when you die. It is you who will be washed by the blood that was shed on Calvary’s cross but you can give no message of the rapture. The resurrection that they will experience will be the very concluding part of what we know as the first or the primary resurrection and that will be at the end of the tribulation. But we will be able to give them sufficient help and instruction for them to continue and maybe even practically for them to lay aside such material goods as they conceive they will need to get them readied for the coming tribulation.
So will Jesus visit everyone? No, probably not. But there are the dead in Christ. And there are those of us who are alive and remain when we’ve heard the message and before we’re taken away. And we can hear the message and believe it now. And if I’m right, and you don’t believe it now no offence, beloved, no offence but if I’m right, you will believe it then and you’ll get out, and tell people ‘We will be departing’. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and it’s the day to go.
If the Lord Jesus is alongside his church, he is ordering and preparing. He is presenting her to himself a glorious church, holy and without blemish. That’s in order. Everything that is a blemish is a disorder. Everything that is unholy is joined to the world and not separated in an orderly way to God. That’s what the whole temple system and Levitical order tells us: order, order, order.
1 Peter 1:13, at the unveiling of the Lord Jesus. There’s some point he enters your drawing room or your church sanctuary or wherever you might be and he comes alongside you and unveils himself. It is that you might be loved and inspired by him that you might then at that closing moment put things in order that you might be told the things that you have to do in order for your departure to be most effective as a witness to others. And he wants you to abide in him that when he shall appear you will have confidence. He does not want you to be ashamed.
Beloved, get as much done in being right with the Lord Jesus Christ and with your brethren now. So that those days of waiting upon him might truly be 10 days of all. Days of waiting, of prayer and supplication in preparation for the kingdom of God. Eagerly await him now so that at his second appearing, you will see him and you will be with him.
You may not believe me. I began by saying I have no other agenda than to bring what I believe, a final and concluding extension to our understanding of the rapture. There’s probably more. I cannot believe that until we are finally removed from the planet, that every truth that there is, in this amazing and wonderful book has been mined and has been taken out and put on the body of Christ for its consumption. We will press on and we will continue to examine what the Bible has to say and see if we can learn anymore. One of the greatest hindrances, yes I quoted this earlier, you know to learning and understanding the truth is the assumption that we have it all already.
I would ask you to go over these DVDs again, I will ask you to blindfold such reactions as you may have, your prejudices, your feelings, your fears and to do your best to examine this biblical material objectively. You may not believe me but you have heard me. And when the shout and the trumpet sounds and you don’t disappear up through clouds, up through the ceiling into the clouds, and you’re still seated here, a quiver, get on the phone to your brethren. You’ve found out it’s happened to all of them. Tell them it’s 10 days and counting. And be ready for great-aunt Maud who went to be with Jesus 10 years ago to knock on the door. He is coming soon beloved. Whether this teaching from the Scriptures is a fantasy and an imagination or whether it’s exposition of the word of God in a more detailed way than you’ve heard before, you must as a good Berrian judge that yourself. But what is without any shadow of a doubt true is that our Lord Jesus Christ who loved us and gave himself for us will not leave us here much longer. Soon and very soon we are going to see the King.{13}
