FALSE CHURCHES IN LEICESTER

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (Galatians 1/3-5)

Following on from my recent posts about Trinity Life Church (TLC) in Leicester and the recent visit of false prophet Benny Hinn, the level of response from those who share my concerns has been encouraging. It has been suggested that some of us meet together for an exploratory forum to discuss ideas about how we should proceed, with the possibility of setting up a regular group of like-minded people. By “like minded”  I mean those who believe that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God and that EVERYTHING must be tested by the scriptures. My hope in facilitating this forum is that Christians will turn back to apostolic Christianity and by-pass the heresy that has infiltrated every area of the so called “church”, not least neo-Pentecostalism, Toronto, Pensacola, Benny Hinn, God TV, Charismania, deliverance ministries that focus on generational curses such as Ellel and Derek Prince, The Welsh Outpouring, Ecumenicism, Dominionism, Replacement Theology, the Purpose Driven agenda, Monasticism, the Emerging Church etc. etc. A little leaven (sin) leavens the whole lump (1 Corinthians 5/6) These type of “ministries”  have leavened (infected) the body of Christ with sin and have brought countless Christians into error and bondage rather than freedom in Christ Jesus.

They make night into day: ‘The light,’ they say, ‘is near to the darkness.’ (Job 17/12)

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5/20)

How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10/29)

....and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
Therefore go out from their midst,
and be separate from them, says the Lord,

and touch no unclean thing;
then I will welcome you,
and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6/14-18)

Many are not free because they do not know the truth, they have been given a mixture of truth and error by false teachers. God hates the mixture of truth and error (Deuteronomy 21/11; 1 Thessalonians 2/3-5; 2 Peter 2/1 ) It is not God's will for His people to receive contaminated water, only the pure water of the Word i.e. the Word of God = Christ Jesus will bring God's blessings:

....that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. (Ephesians 5/26-27)

..let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10/22)

You will know the truth and the truth will set you free (John 8/32)

As we get nearer and nearer to the tribulation period, I believe that God is calling His true followers to leave apostate churches. False churches and those associated with them will not be saved because they are not the bride of Christ.  The end time false church is referred to biblically as a spiritual prostitute:  And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.”  The apostate church will compromise with the Antichrist and commit spiritual adultery (Revelation 14/8; 17/5). Indeed this is well underway even now as we see TLC going along with secular equality values for lottery funding; Holy Trinity Church participating in eastern mysticism, monasticism and ecumenism; Knighton Evangelical Free Church introducing the false teachings of Bill Hybels and annihilationism. Furthermore TLC, Holy Trinity Church and All Nations Church all validate wolf in sheep's clothing Benny Hinn...... this is just the tip of the iceberg!  These things have nothing to do with Jesus Christ and true Christianity.

For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them."
(2 Corinthians 6/16)

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; (Revelation 18/4)

What I seek to facilitate is the worship of Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth (John 4/24). It is not just about saying that God's word is authoritative - many churches say this, but in practice they do not do it. It is actually believing this truth and testing whatever ideas we might have against scripture and submitting to God's Word in every situation, even when it is difficult. I do believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit biblically practiced and tested by the scriptures are valid. However, I am also aware that there is a danger of overemphasis on gifts that would distract from true worship and degenerate into charismania. Paul's first letter to the Corinthian Church is a warning about this.

Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith (πίστιν) on earth? (Luke 18/8)

The Greek word πίστις means faith or faithfulness. Jesus Christs question is very relevant for our own time. Will there will be true faith or faithfulness when Jesus Christ returns?

EZEKIEL 34

The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord GOD: Ah, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep. The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the injured you have not bound up, the strayed you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them. So they were scattered, because there was no shepherd, and they became food for all the wild beasts. My sheep were scattered; they wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, with none to search or seek for them.

“Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: As I live, declares the Lord GOD, surely because my sheep have become a prey, and my sheep have become food for all the wild beasts, since there was no shepherd, and because my shepherds have not searched for my sheep, but the shepherds have fed themselves, and have not fed my sheep, therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: Thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require my sheep at their hand and put a stop to their feeding the sheep. No longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. I will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.

“For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. There they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice.

“As for you, my flock, thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and male goats. Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the rest of your pasture; and to drink of clear water, that you must muddy the rest of the water with your feet? And must my sheep eat what you have trodden with your feet, and drink what you have muddied with your feet?

“Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD to them: Behold, I, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. Because you push with side and shoulder, and thrust at all the weak with your horns, till you have scattered them abroad, I will rescue my flock; they shall no longer be a prey. And I will judge between sheep and sheep. And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. And I, the LORD, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. I am the LORD; I have spoken.

“I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild beasts from the land, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing. And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land. And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them. They shall no more be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the land devour them. They shall dwell securely, and none shall make them afraid. And I will provide for them renowned plantations so that they shall no more be consumed with hunger in the land, and no longer suffer the reproach of the nations. And they shall know that I am the LORD their God with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Lord GOD. And you are my sheep, human sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Lord GOD.”

  1. Oh dear !!

Seriously, you are very bitter and angry, two words that should never e used to describe a true believer. You may feel that your theological understanding is right but there appears to be no love.

I pray for you daily Treena because your soul is in as much peril as the people in many of the churches in Leicester that you would suggest need to leave and join you and others like you.

In fact I am sure Jesus would have some words for you, one being repent and love.

  2. Are truth and love mutually exclusive? If you do not have the truth then you do not have love. (John 5/24; 8/51) Jesus Word is Truth! If you can prove me wrong biblically then by all means do so and I will be the first to repent. Do not resort to name calling and personal remarks if you can't win the discussion biblically. You have assumed that I am bitter - I am not at all bitter actually. It is not wrong to be angry when God's name is being blasphemed and misrepresented. Was Jesus Christ bitter when he confronted the money changers in the temple? Was Paul bitter when he confronted wrong doctrine? I do not compare myself with these, but I am concerned and angry at the way that God's name is being blasphemed by false teachers. The reason that the churches are in such a mess is that hardly anyone has pointed these things out before. Keep on praying for me - and next time please give your name - it is not good to criticise anonymously.

  4. Hey 'Anon One'..there's absolutely nothing wrong with anger..provided it is righteous! I think in order to assess whether a person is bitter or not, you need to meet them and talk it through. It is very hard to assess from the written word. Treena has written you about the anger thing, and I identify with her on that 100%. I too am angry at the way the 'churches' in Leicester do not represent in significant ways, the NT pattern. I focus on structure, whereas Treena focuses more on 'Spirit'..and I respect her for that. I would give you this humble advice...if you wish to praise, by all means be anonymous..but if you wish to make a point, or be critical, do not be afraid to use your name..personally I never accept any word of rebuke from an anonymous source...just so you know!
