The Charity Commission's statutory inquiry into Revelation Foundation was opened on the 8th of September 2014. Their statement, dated the 7th of November 2014, outlined the following concerns:
“In March 2014 complaints were received from members of the public alleging the charity was being used for private advantage. A subsequent scrutiny of the charity’s accounts by the commission identified regulatory concerns which include potential significant loss of charitable funds, trustee benefits, conflicts of interest and connected party transactions.” {1}
According to Howard Conder, the Charity Commission's report was due to have been submitted just before Christmas last year. However there has been a delay and it is not yet available. Conder has questioned the information given him by the CC that the Interim Manager has not yet submitted his report, and once again he did not hold back in lambasting them and casting aspersions on their integrity - publicly accusing them of dishonesty, lying and partiality!
On the programme R-Mornings (29th January) Conder blamed the CC for the temporary cessation of "text giving" to RTV, which has been vetoed by their SMS donation provider until the investigation is completed. Conder reiterated his oft repeated mantra, proclaiming RTV's innocence of any wrongdoing. He then proceeded to vilify the female in charge of the CC investigation, whom he referred to as "Mrs..... you know" concluding with the slur that she is "a Jezebel" on air!!! For the benefit of those who are not conversant with Christianese, to call someone a Jezebel is no small matter; it is another way of saying that she is a wicked, scheming, demonically inspired woman. Jezebel is the epitome of evil in the Bible. {2}
Conder: "Mrs..... you know..... the woman in charge is a real Jezebel..... If you know the story of Jezebel, this lady is such a person..... out to get us."
From approximately 49:40

I thought that Christians were directed to love their enemies, but, as usual, the gospel of Conder differs from the scriptures significantly! This is just the latest in a long line of insults directed towards those Conder defines as his enemies, that would be anyone who points out the truth. Conder has now added the "Jezebel" slur to the previous abuse he has hurled at the CC, whom he characterised as "despicable" and "thick" last year. {3}
In his warped mind, Conder believes that RTV are being persecuted because, in his own words: "RTV stands for biblical truth." I nearly fell off my chair when he said this! On the contrary, many would argue that the real reason for RTV's dilemma is that they are con men who are provably preaching and promoting a false gospel and making rather a lot of money in the process.
RTV's schedule for January 2016 included well known apostates Joseph Prince, 700 Club (Pat Robertson), It's Supernatural (Sid Roth), Joyce Meyer, Deliverance Outreach and Jesse Duplantis to name but a few. I notice that on February 4th they aired Adventists in Conversation (Seventh Day Adventists)... "Kirsten Oster-Lundqvist explores the basic questions of Christianity with Patrick Johnson, senior pastor of the Newbold Adventist church in Berkshire and invited special guests." {4}
Conder depicts himself as a "modern day Elijah" thanks to a false prophecy given by cult leader and false prophet Jonathan David, during an ecumenical meeting in 1994. {5}
Like many a false prophet/cult leader before him, Conder is playing out his "Elijah" fantasy to the hilt, and very sadly he appears to have convinced his gullible followers that his so-called "ministry" is authentic. He claims that his supporters, Church Without Walls, are the equivalent of the 7000 who did not bend the knee to Baal (1 Kings 19:18). Now that Conder has found his "Jezebel", the delusion seems to be almost complete, apart from calling fire down from heaven and disappearing in a whirlwind that is! Ironically, Jezebel was known for pressing the cult of Baal onto the Israelite kingdom, a role more applicable to Conder et al I would have thought! (1 Kings 16:31, 21:5-15, 2 Kings 9:30-7). If it were not so very serious, Conder's delusional "Elijah Ministry" would be hilarious! RTV is about as far from Elijah and the faithful remnant as you can get.
"And as they still went on and talked, behold, chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven." (2 Kings 2:11) |
Just a reminder..
Howard and Lesley Conder own a private TV company called 21st Century Television Ltd which sells Revelation TV’s airtime. If you take a look at the Revelation TV Programme-Guide from their website you will ascertain how many non-Revelation TV programmes they air. In January 2015, a conservative guesstimate on the assumption that everyone purchasing air time paid the lowest rate (£250 for 28mins = £500 per hour) 60 x £500 = £30,000 per week =
£1,560,000 per year.........
These monies do NOT appear on the INCOME/EXPENDITURE pie charts presented by Gordon Pettie. This is very misleading to viewers who are under the impression that Revelation TV are desperately in need of donations. {7}
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)

"RTV stands for Biblical truth"; Isn't that the prerogative of every so called Bible 'believer' to say something like that? If Conder were to say; "I am a snake and only interested in feathering my own nest" the donations are hardly going to come in thick and fast, are they?
ReplyDeleteHis deplorable name calling of the Charity Commission boss (is she not likely to be watching RTV?) will not serve his best interests, it will cut no ice with them, and make him out to be a crank. You rightly say that Christians should be above such name calling. Whether Conder likes it or not, she is only doing her job. Let us hope and pray she does a good and thorough job of it, leaving no stone unturned. Let the truth be revealed.
Conder's abuse of others brings the gospel into disrepute.... as does his airing of known apostates and constant harping on about money. In my view, Conder and RTV are thorougly cultish and should be avoided at all costs. As you say Anonymous - "Let the truth be revealed" .. and also let them be exposed as the wolves they really are.
ReplyDeleteGod bless tx
And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. (2 Peteer 2:2)
Neville Stephens volte-face in respect of Conder and Revelation TV is truly astonishing. It's almost as if Conder has paid him off or something (which incidentally, wouldn't surprise me) I am not even going to bother to try to work out the reasons for this egregious hypocrisy, a scan down his increasingly bizarre blogs and those of his respondents suggest to me that the plot has been well and truly lost.
ReplyDeleteAnd where do you suggest he get his help from?
ReplyDeleteTreena, The debate raging on Stephen's blog between him and someone who calls himself Ichabod is astounding. It is littered with disgusting obscenities, and the two appear to relish goading each other, like children in a playground. How either of these two men can claim to be Christians is beyond me. Stephens may need help of some sort, Ichabod needs a jacket that fastens up the back and a room with soft walls!!
ReplyDelete"Astounding" is but an understatement! It beggars belief that a 'Christian' blog site could harbour some of the foulest language available anywhere on the internet? William is correct when he says that they "relish goading each other, like children in a playground." Sincerely, I believe Neville is doing all this because he is like a little child who constantly craves attention, and will do almost anything to get it.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, Neville, like Howard Conder, so I believe, is a football fanatic. I remember Howard always going on about the team he supports-Arsenal. As with my first 'pastor', football seemed to be the common denominator that would attract worldlings through the door; going on about football-it was a 'blokie' thing to do! Hey-we're not your usual dull Christians! He would do anything to attract men and women into his church, it became a social club where the true gospel of Christ was never preached. As a young child I absolutely worshipped Chelsea football club, I had posters all around my bedroom of the players, Bonnetti, Cooke, Houseman, Hollins, Hudson, Osgood, Hutchinson, and the rest of them! Now, I absolutely couldn't care less about them! (if you know what I mean?) Read 1 John 5.21; "Little children keep yourselves from idols. Amen."
God bless.
Treena,
ReplyDeleteStephens has launched an attack on me now on his blog, although the childlike nature of it is so laughable I am not even going to bother responding to him, except with a simple Q.E.D in respect of my previous views. As well as being a steaming hypocrite, he is quite clearly lacking in intelligence and his ramblings betray a remarkable cognitive dissonance. As for "Ichabod" the less said about him, the better.
Noney, money, money.
ReplyDeleteThe CC aren't investigating RTV's 'heart', they're looking at their financial conduct and I hope they do a thorough job of it because I know of more than one individual who has given and given and given their cash not only to them but also to those who use their services. Let the CC do their job, even if they seem to drag their heels about it. There IS a lot of money at stake.
Where The Church can and should pipe up however, is in regard to RTV's stance [or stances] concerning doctrine. They're not a church, even though they describe themselves as one without walls, but as such, whatever programming they allow is an endorsement of said programming. There can be no amoral disclaimer for a christian enterprise that claims to be propagating the Gospel. However, with the exception of a few dissenting voices, the church is either very quiet, or even quieter still.
Not only is the church very quiet, but there is a significant lack of backbone among some. RTV isn't preaching the gospel. RTV is making money by broadcasting programmes made by people who pay them handsomely. Nevermind the content. Nevermind the error. This being the case, they're a business and not a ministry and as such they shouldn't have charity status.
If they can allow anyone who can afford their airtime fees, to broadcast whatever they want to, then RTV has no conscience.
The world may be looking at their financial conduct and character, but the church has to look at the theology and doctrine they allow and are paid to do ...and therein lies the problem.
Thank you David.. As you say, doctrine is the domain of the church, whereas the Charity Commission addresses finances and the law. It is a pity that some people cannot differentiate between the two. God bless
ReplyDeleteVery wise words!
ReplyDeleteSadly Neville seems incapable of "engaging in theological debate" as you put it. I did glance at his blog site tonight, but couldn't see your mug-shot anywhere; maybe he is tweaking it a little? But more than this, this whole debacle is now becoming more than a little tedious.
It is all very sad this; I believe that you speak with conviction from what you believe the Bible to clearly teach. And if you see someone broadcasting a doctrine that you believe is not clearly taught in God's word, then you will explain (as best as you can) from God's word why this is the case-should you not have the liberty to do so? Not according to Mr Stephens? He does indeed have a popish mind-set on this?
I have just read your latest post tonight-and have a thing or two to test you on in due course!
God bless you.
There seems to some misunderstanding as to what the very duplicitous Neville Stephens is doing. All he has done is make friends with Kelly, Parsons, Taylor VOUK and whoever else-he has just decommissioned THAT one blog-that is all! He now calls them Christians, (I assume by that he means his brothers in Christ?) and he now says that he is INCREASING his blogging activities!
ReplyDeleteHe is now going to actively promote RTV!
How long will it be before he tells us that Copeland, Hinn, Mayer and Co are true Christians as well?
Truly a very confused man.
I wouldn't trust Stephens as far as I could throw him-about half an inch!
I also should add that even Stephens had the brains to know that he couldn't keep all that disgusting foul language from the pit on his site for a moment longer?
ReplyDeleteIf that is true it is very sad Anyonmous.
ReplyDeleteStephens has restarted his anti-Kelly blog again; dis-fellowshipped him after just ONE weekend! They were practically kissing and cuddling each other, and now this!
ReplyDeleteIs he for real? Can any sane person take a blind bit of notice of ANYTHING he says anymore? He is now posting Kelly's foul language again-a man like Mr Stephens is therefore not fit and proper to lecture us about how wonderful RTV are (which is the subject of this particular article of yours).
God help us all.
There are too few of Christ's Watchmen bringing to light, the fact that personal gain has become the norm among TV Evangelists, who change Scripture to justify money.
ReplyDeleteThank you & God bless you dearly.
God bless you Mariam x
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing all that you have on this site. This now gives me a good reason to send this onto the Charity Commission today as it plainly demonstrates just how malicious unfounded judgment is born and spread through sites like this. signed Howard Conder
ReplyDeletePS you are the second site I have come across this morning in preparation for my email to the CC which I intend to send to them outlining reasons why the CC needs to bring their investigation to a conclusion once and for all.
Hi Treena!
ReplyDeleteWhen all is said and done, Mr. Conder is as sad a man as he is a disgraceful one. He cannot bring himself to take ownership of the very real issues of concern, seeking only to paint himself whiter than white (to cover the shades of murky grey) and to make those who ask awkward, legitimate questions of him and RTV the problem, rather than himself and his acolytes on this heavily compromised channel.
Let him write to the CC complaining about your, or Sarah's, or my articles or anyone else's if that's what he wishes; he just might find that such an action will backfire on him. He shows himself up, without any help from us! And even if the CC should eventually rule that there has been nothing illegal in his activities, the questions of just how right and moral those activities have been in a Christian context will most certainly remain!
With best wishes in Him,
Rob.
Thank you Rob. I endorse everything you have written above.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Amen to Rob's comment above.
ReplyDeleteCan't figure out why Mr Conder bothered commenting at all really, what has he got to gain from it? nothing!
I shouldn't think that the CC are concerned one whit what you, Rob, me and whom ever else, think or say about RTV:
It is ONLY their financial chicanery that they will be concerned about!
As a family we donated money to RTV (many years ago now) and I really would like the CC to conclude the matter.
God bless.
You make a good point Colin thank you. I will send an email to the CC. I think that those who donated to RTV in the past deserve an explanation and closure.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The CC's reply to my query:
ReplyDeleteDear Ms Gisborn
Thank you for your email submitted on 11/03/19.
The Commission has an ongoing statutory inquiry into the charity, and we have previously published statements upon our website confirming the opening of the inquiry and the appointment of an interim manager to the charity.
The purpose of a statutory inquiry is to examine issues in detail and investigate and establish the facts so that the regulator can ascertain whether there has been misconduct or mismanagement; establish the extent of the risk to the charity’s property, beneficiaries or work; and decide what action needs to be taken to resolve the serious concerns, if necessary using its legal powers to do so.
We do not enter into correspondence about action that we may intend to take or provide updates on the progress of our investigations whilst they are ongoing. However, our publication CC46 - Statutory Inquiries into Charities: Guidance for charities (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/statutory-inquiries-into-charities-guidance-for-charities-cc46), although aimed at trustees, contains information about our regulatory role and the framework within which we carry out investigations which you may find useful. Our approach to dealing with complaints about charities is explained in our publication CC47 – Complaints about Charities (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/complaints-about-charities).
It is important to note that our statutory inquiry is ongoing and as such, we’re unable to comment further at this time so as not to prejudice the outcome of our investigation. As with all cases, we recognise the interest in this inquiry, and we are mindful of the impact on those affected, however it is important that we are able to thoroughly investigate issues of serious regulatory concern in the public interest. Unless exceptional circumstances are found to apply, we report publicly on our findings by issuing a statement of results of inquiry which is published on our website.
I hope this information is of some assistance to you.
Yours sincerely
Brian Wilson

It turns out that the Revelation Foundation appealed to the Charity Tribunal last October to have the case dropped, but then withdrew the case before it was heard:
