When "Discernment" is Dishonest: Is Ruslan KD Really "Evil?"

A question for Steve Kozar: What is an ad hominem attack?

Ad hominem: A criticism directed against a person rather than against what that person says.

To my knowledge, none of Ruslan KD’s critics have engaged in ad hominem attacks. The concerns have been directed at his relentless pursuit of money—identified in scripture as greed and love of money—which Ruslan himself has articulated in the most disgusting terms. (Hebrews 13:5; 1 Timothy 6:10; Luke 12:15). Chris LaSala notes: "Ruslan KD has always planned to make merchandise of his followers. He has tried to monetize everything from prayer journals, Christian concerts, t shirts, therapy sessions, upper tier Patreon subscriptions, and more. This man is not a Christian, he is a lover of money and he is a friend of the world. He also promotes cigar smoking, tattoos, carnal hip hop artists, and he green lights women wearing yoga pants. He is also a free gracer disguised as a repentance preacher."1 

Kozar and Long have responded by attacking Michael Grant, Sean Christie (Revealing Truth), Jordan Riley, and others, asserting that Ruslan’s critics are "lying and taking him out of context". That is an exceptionally strong allegation and is demonstrably false. 

Ruslan's damage control: "When I came onto YouTube the objective was not to be a public Christian."2 

Anyone who chooses to operate on YouTube is functioning in a public arena. Ruslan’s claim that he was a full‑time musician who was “a rapper who was Christian, not a Christian rapper” is a distinction without substance. 

The monetisation‑focused statements now circulating online originate from Ruslan’s own recorded material, largely between 2018 and 2021, during the period in which he was advising aspiring Christian creatives on building financially viable platforms. In a recent interview he accused his critics of participating in “cancel culture” and claimed that his intent was merely to motivate Christian artists, not to address ordinary believers. The difficulty with that defence is obvious: at what point does a Christian supposedly remove the “Christian” hat and replace it with an “artist” hat? What framework of values is he communicating to Christians who identify as artists? Scripture does not permit compartmentalising the Christian life. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.. (Colossians 3:23).

Kozar and Long's claim that Ruslan has "repented" is absurd. Ruslan has recently reaffirmed his own monetisation‑focused statements: "But we went back and particularly looked at 'how do I monetize people' and 'stop pussy footing around, you want to build a business around your art  and not a ministry'. And I stand by those 100%."

Ruslan > I want.. I want.. I want .. 

"I want to be free so I got zero overhead.. I don't want no bill.. I don't got to pay mortgage.. I want to be part of a church plant and be able to give and help.. I want to live in southern California, I have to.. I am going to live in Southern California. I have to figure out how to get into a million dollar home and pay it off.. I need seven figures.. I would love to be in a position someday where I just have F.U. money." His manner of speaking aside, the substance is clear: he wants to participate in ministry while exempting himself from the ordinary responsibilities and obligations that other people must carry. He has expressed a desire for income levels far beyond what most people will ever attain. 

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one.(1 Corinthians 5:11 cf. 2 Thessalonians 3:6; Romans 16:16-17).

Only blatant deceivers and narcissists would consider charging people for “meet and greet” access to so‑called "celebrity preachers". The pricing for Ruslan’s March 2026 Bless God Summit — including a $75 meet‑and‑greet ticket — speaks for itself. The broader pattern is even more egregious offering an additional $450 for a celebrity meet‑and‑greet, and children being charged $422 to meet a “celebrity preacher.” This commercialisation of alleged religious figures is indefensible.  All Christians are obligated to uphold consistent Christian values and to serve as public witnesses to Christ. No believer should even mention or be speaking about "F.U. money"  and "monetizing people" in any context. 

Ruslan's financial compromises alone warrants rejecting this ministry outright. But the wider problem is structural: the entire Bless God Summit genre is theologically unsound, commercially driven, and ecumenical in substance. It is not Christian ministry in any meaningful doctrinal sense.

Although Ruslan disputes Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox structures and practices, he still treats both traditions as doctrinally aligned with the gospel and draws no substantive line between their teaching and what he considers biblical truth. He refers to "Our respective streams of Christianity.. I love my Eastern Orthodox and Catholic brothers and sisters.. We (Protestants) believe that you have a valid church and a valid communion."4

The heart of the ecumenical heresy is soteriological. Bible believers who trust that we are saved by grace through faith alone are at complete odds with Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. The Roman Catholic/Eastern Orthodox premise is that we are saved by faith plus works. Although they share our vocabulary, they load those terms with different theological content. Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy diverge from one another in various aspects, yet they stand together in treating the sacraments as efficacious channels of grace and as necessary components of salvation. This is another gospel and is anathema biblically. (Galatians 1:8-9).

Ruslan's questionable list of speakers at his ecumenical summit included Mike Winger, Gavin Ortlund, Sean McDowell, Wes Huff, Michael Knowles, Lila Rose (Roman Catholic) and other dubious characters. He consistently elevates some of the most destructive influencers operating in the church today—Carl Lentz, TD Jakes, Gabe Poirot, and the self‑styled “demon slayer” contingent: Mike Signorelli, Isaiah Saldivar, "Apostle" Alexander Pagani, and Vlad Savchuk.

I can only describe Steve Kozar and Daniel Long's response to Ruslan's critics as deranged. They fail to articulate even the most basic definitions, and the claim that Ruslan has “repented” is demonstrably false. Ruslan’s own recorded statements are sufficient to indict him without further analysis. Their reaction warrants serious scrutiny: at minimum, their discernment should be questioned, and the motives behind issuing blatantly false claims of this nature should be examined. These two self-appointed "discerners"  are already in serious error due to their Lutheran commitment to baptismal regeneration—a significant deviation from sound biblical soteriology—the pattern is predictable. (Isaiah 5:20).

Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. DANIEL LONG AND STEVE KOZAR "DISCERNERS" WITHOUT DISCERNMENT

Long & Kozar love & appreciate the Ruslan KD podcast?

These two self‑styled “discerners” appear to have abandoned all sense of humility and proportion. Steve Kozar, in his characteristic arrogance, now suggests that he and Daniel Long represent the initial “snowball” of resistance to NAR and charismatic deception, and that their influence is prompting charismatics to follow suit. This claim is baseless. The fact that many believers have discerned and exposed false teachers without any reference to Long or Kozar is attributable solely to the sanctifying work of God in their lives; the example of those two figures has no theological relevance to that outcome. (Galatians 6:3; 1 Corinthians 8:2; Proverbs 3:7).

Long and Kozar behave like superiors patronizing their inferiors. Long: "We do listen to these guys, we take what they say, we appreciate them." Do they realise how patronizing they sound? More concerning is their demonstrated lack of discernment in endorsing Ruslan KD and Mike Winger, both central figures in the so‑called “Evangelical swamp” aka the “Christian YouTube Establishment”. Kozar’s nodding and tacit approval places him at the same level. I hold no regard for either of these Lutherans, given their commitment to baptismal regeneration — a substantive deviation from sound soteriology.

Ruslan’s pursuit of “F.U. money” and his stated intent to monetize Christians should not receive approval from anyone. This pattern of conduct aligns precisely with the forms of ungodliness scripture warns against. (Matthew 6:21,24; Proverbs 23:4-5; 1 John 2:15-17).

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

Paul's example for believers to imitate. 

Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate. For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. (2 Thessalonians 3:6-12).

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. (1 Timothy 6:10; Matthew 6:24; Hebrews 13:5).

His endorsement of Ruslan, his alignment with TPUSA, and his claim that false prophets can be rehabilitated into ministry are all fundamentally incompatible with any serious reading of scripture.

Ruslan refers to "Our respective streams of Christianity.. I love my Eastern Orthodox and Catholic brothers and sisters.. We (Protestants) believe that you have a valid church and a valid communion."1  

The sobering reality is that while Ruslan and his associates elevate themselves, generate substantial revenue, and engage in ecumenical theatrics at an upscale resort, their conduct ultimately undermines the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 7:20).

I found Michael Grant’s recent video on election and predestination profoundly disturbing. Can it really be that God does not want us to clearly understand soteriology? The comments on this video are disabled, which is unsurprising given that it likely attracted substantial criticism.

Michael Grant routinely critiques what he calls the compromised “Evangelical swamp” or the “Christian YouTube Establishment”—figures such as Mike Winger, Wesley Huff, Melissa Dougherty, Ruslan KD, Sean McDowell, and Allen Parr. Yet he appears unaware that he replicates the same pattern in his treatment of John MacArthur and RC Sproul. By affirming, platforming, and refusing to confront their Calvinism, he grants them the same uncritical legitimacy he condemns in others. Functionally, he is participating in the very dynamic he claims to oppose.

MacArthur’s exchange is a textbook example of rhetorical self‑contradiction. He affirms unconditional election, irresistible drawing, sovereign preservation, and a fully predestined soteriology—“all sovereign, all established”—and then immediately affirms universal invitation, divine displeasure at judgment, Christ’s grief over impenitence, and full human responsibility. When pressed to reconcile these mutually exclusive claims, he concedes that he cannot: “You are asking too much of me; I am not God."

Michael Grant presents this as if it were clarifying, yet it functions as epistemic destabilisation. Believers are left with the conclusion that, on his account, we cannot meaningfully know anything about salvation. MacArthur’s bifurcated presentation is not harmless; it is doctrinally disorienting. I have heard him preach full blown Calvinism, and the inconsistency here is not incidental but in my assessment deliberate.

It is vital to note that the claim that "regeneration precedes faith" places a person on the edge of serious doctrinal error. It introduces a soteriological model that is not merely problematic but ventures into heresy. The question of how we are saved is foundational: scripture presents salvation by grace, through faith—not by regeneration imposed prior to faith. (Ephesians 2:8). Both RC Sproul and John MacArthur explicitly taught that regeneration precedes faith. Given that commitment, it is difficult to see why anyone would treat them as reliable guides for sound soteriology. I have observed that Michael Grant frequently speaks inconsistently (as demonstrated in his comments about Charlie Kirk). This underscores the need for clarity in doctrine rather than reliance on sources that are theologically unstable and have no place in sound teaching.

Ephesians 1:4 is one of the most cited “proof texts” in Calvinist (Reformed) theology, but it is also a central point of contention with non-Calvinist interpreters. While Ephesians 1:4 does not mention “foreknowledge", Romans 8:29 and 1 Peter 1:20 show that God’s knowledge of individuals and His redemptive plan existed before creation.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:3-6).

Calvinists, following John Calvin and later Reformed theologians, read “he chose us in him” as an assertion that God eternally selected specific individuals for salvation before creation, without reference to any foreseen faith, conduct, or human response. In this framework, “in Him” designates Christ as the ground or medium of the decree, while the election itself remains an unconditional, individual, pre‑temporal act. This interpretation functions within their broader system of unconditional election and, for some, including MacArthur and Sproul, double predestination.

Critics of the Calvinist reading argue that the text does not teach an eternal, individual choice apart from faith: They note the phrase “chosen in Him” means that God chose those who are in Christ — i.e., believers — before the foundation of the world. According to this view, the “us” in verse 4 is the same “us” in verse 19: “you who have believed” (Ephesians 1:19). The choice is corporate and conditional on being in Christ, which itself comes through hearing and believing the gospel (Ephesians 1:13). Thus, the verse describes God’s eternal plan to bless believers, not a pre‑temporal selection of a hidden “elect” group apart from faith.

Scripture is unequivocal: regeneration is the sovereign act of God in which He imparts His own life and nature to the believing sinner. (John 1:12–13; Titus 3:5). The surrounding debate typically centres on the TULIP framework—total depravity, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace, and the perseverance of the saints. A key point of contention is the order of salvation: does faith precede regeneration, or does regeneration precede faith? Closely related is the question of repentance—whether it must occur prior to salvation. These are precisely the areas in which Calvinist theology often entangles believers, producing confusion rather than clarity. Numerous passages indicate that regeneration is inseparably linked to repentance and faith.

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.” (Ezekiel 18:30-32).

When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life. (Acts 11:18).

But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. (1 Timothy 1:16).

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. (James 1:18).

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (Romans 8:29).

Many people underestimate how calculated and intellectually deceptive these individuals are.

Do not let anyone destabilize you from your secure position in Christ with clever‑sounding arguments. (Colossians 2:8 cf. Ephesians 4:14; 1 Peter 5:8).

Daniel Long and Steve Kozar have produced substantial historical surveys of early Pentecostalism, particularly in their treatments of figures such as John Alexander Dowie, Frank W. Sandford, Charles Fox Parham, and John G. Lake. Their material is serviceable rather than original. Even so, I hope their work provides clarity for sincere believers who may be unknowingly drawn toward NAR theology, and that their videos function as an early warning mechanism for those not yet entangled in charismania.

Steve Kozar: "I want people to trust me, but more importantly, I want people to trust the content that I am giving them."

Kozar's content is accurate as far as it goes, BUT his theology is stunted, and it is incumbent that believers should test the spirits rather than blindly trust any teacher or influencer. (1 John 4:1; Acts 17:11).

While no one with a morsel of spiritual discernment would argue that the NAR is not corrupt at its foundations, Long and Kozar overlook several significant issues. They consistently elevate Mike Winger for exposing “cover‑up culture” and calling out obvious false prophets. Yes—Winger has exposed wolves like Benny Hinn, Shawn Bolz, Todd White, and Che Ahn. But at the same time it is troubling that he has publicly described Bill Johnson as “saved", “sincere” and “someone he would fellowship with.” He has also claimed that Todd White is “saved". Even after reviewing roughly sixty hours of White’s material, Winger claimed he did not see a false gospel. Winger’s underlying premise—that false prophets can be restored to ministry, and that institutions like Bethel can be reformed—is completely alien to my reading of Scripture. False prophets are predators (wolves), not candidates for restoration. Scripture instructs us to mark and avoid them, not rehabilitate them. (Romans 16:17–18).

Winger's exposure of cult leader Steven Koko, the so-called "predator of Panama", involved close collaboration with hypercharismatic false teacher Torben Sondergaard, founder of The Last Reformation.1 Sondergaard is a "thus saith the Lord" leg puller and demon slayer who hijacks people into false repentance. No bona fide Christian "influencer" should collaborate with false teachers like Sondergaard > the means do not justify the ends.

Mike Winger throws up one red flag after another!

Winger appears unable to recognise the ecumenical drift or the overtly worldly tone of the Bless God Summit and TPUSA. At the Summit, he shared a platform with Ruslan, Gavin Ortland, Wes Huff, Sean McDowell, and Roman Catholic activist Lila Rose, among other questionable teachers who are effectively reintroducing elements of the Galatian error. In addition, Ortland, Huff, McDowell, Ruslan and others have expressed sympathy toward Kirk Cameron’s heretical annihilationist position. Cameron recently convened Ortland, Dan Paterson, Chris Date and Paul Copan for ‘Hellgate’, a two‑and‑a‑half‑hour discussion centred on the nature and duration of hell.2 

Although he is praised for exposing false teachers, Winger aligns himself with individuals who are actively eroding the faith — and his own involvement contributes to that erosion.

Winger is part of a loose, self-reinforcing ecosystem of Christian YouTubers who:

• appear on each other’s channels

• endorse one another’s content

• share platforms at conferences and livestreams

• cross‑promote each other’s books, interviews, and debates

• shape what becomes “acceptable” or “mainstream” in online Christian discourse

This creates a de facto establishment — not official, but influential.

Michael Grant refers to this as "one big swamp that needs to get drained".3

The other person Kozar praised in this video is Justin Peters. Like Long and Kozar, Peters is accurate in his exposure of NAR false prophets. However, my huge concern is that he is a Calvinist. Limited atonement (TULIP) is unsupported by scripture and poses a spiritual danger on par with the NAR. It undermines the heart of the gospel by redefining soteriology itself. Those who promote Calvinism will be held to account for how they excluded vast numbers of people by insisting that Christ’s saving work was never intended for all who believe, but only for an exclusive elect.

Lutheran theology also retains serious doctrinal errors with profound implications for soteriology. The absence of the full counsel of God is evident in three key areas: baptismal regeneration, consubstantiation, and eschatology. (Acts 20:27). These positions remain rooted in Roman Catholic tradition rather than biblical authority. Ultimately, no defence will stand for those promoting these deviations from scripture. (Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10; James 3:1).

BLESS GOD SUMMIT> RUSLAN / MIKE WINGER / MICHAEL GRANT

This is the second year of the three-day Bless God Summit organised by Ruslan KD hosted at the luxurious Seabird Resort and Oceanside Amphitheatre in California. According to the publicity, the summit aims to "encourage, empower and inspire attendees to live a life that blesses God".1 However, the summit has drawn controversy due to VIP tickets that include an additional $450 for a meet-and-greet with the speakers. The summit is ecumenical and includes Roman Catholic, Mormon and atheist speakers. Michael Grant has quite rightly spoken out in protest and has been rebuffed by Ruslan, Mike Winger and Mellissa Dougherty.

This summit should revulse genuine believers on a number of levels. The summit marginalises and dishonours the poor; its price tag alone ensures that anyone without substantial means is effectively excluded. Christ’s care for the poor is consistent, regardless of who attempts to corrupt it with status markers or commercial values. The choice of a luxury resort raises further questions about whether the event honours God or simply mirrors the culture it claims to critique. It gets worse. VIP access and paid meet‑and‑greets introduce distinctions scripture explicitly rejects and violates the second commandment to love your neighbour as yourself. Matthew 22:39 and James 2 both condemn partiality. The elevation of “celebrity speakers" and the monetization of proximity to them should trouble any believer committed to the teachings of Christ. 

My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if  a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,”while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court? Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which you were called? If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. (James 2:1-9).

Ruslan's obsession with money reveals where his treasure really is. (Matthew 6:21,24; Proverbs 23:4-5; 1 John 2:15-17).

"You will grow your audience, and then you've got to find a unique way to monetize them."

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:25-33).

Although Ruslan disputes Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox structures and practices, he still treats both traditions as doctrinally aligned with the gospel and draws no substantive line between their teaching and what he considers biblical truth. He refers to "Our respective streams of Christianity.. I love my Eastern Orthodox and Catholic brothers and sisters.. We (Protestants) believe that you have a valid church and a valid communion."4 

The heart of the ecumenical heresy is soteriological. Bible believers who trust that we are saved by grace through faith alone are at complete odds with Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. The Roman Catholic/Eastern Orthodox premise is that we are saved by faith plus works. Although they share our vocabulary, they load those terms with different theological content. Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy diverge from one another in various aspects, yet they stand together in treating the sacraments as efficacious channels of grace and as necessary components of salvation. This is another gospel and is anathema biblically. (Galatians 1:8-9).

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that three of its seven sacraments are directly “redemptive” in the strict sense of imparting saving grace for the forgiveness of sins. These are sometimes referred to as sacraments of initiation or sacraments of healing, depending on their function. The core contention of the RCC is that Baptism, the Eucharist, and Penance (Reconciliation) are the sacraments explicitly tied to redemption—meaning they apply Christ’s saving work to the believer in a direct way. This sits within the broader RC understanding of the seven sacraments as “efficacious signs of grace” instituted by Christ. 

The motto of the Reformation is encapsulated in the five solas: "Sola Fide" (faith alone), "Sola Gratia" (grace alone), "Solus Christus" (Christ alone), "Sola Scriptura" (Scripture alone), and "Soli Deo Gloria" (glory to God alone). These principles emphasise that salvation is achieved through faith in Christ alone, through grace alone, according to Scripture alone, and for the glory of God alone. When sacraments are added to the gospel, then the lethal error of works salvation is introduced. 

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2: 8-9).
For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11).

Speakers at the summit include Mike Winger, Gavin Ortlund, Sean McDowell, Wes Huff, Michael Knowles, Lila Rose (Roman Catholic) and many others.

Mike Winger concerns me greatly. Despite his exposure of several false teachers within the NAR and "cover-up culture", inexplicably, he apparently fails to discern the threat of ecumenism or the blatant worldly values of this summit. His support of Ruslan, TPUSA, and his premise that false prophets can be restored to ministry are all alien to my understanding of the scriptures.* 

Gavin Ortlund's stance on Roman Catholicism and the gospel aligns with Ruslan's view. He acknowledges that Roman Catholics are Christians and affirms their place within the Christian faith. As such, he is another dangerous teacher to mark and avoid. (Romans 16:17-18).  

I don’t agree with Michael Grant about a number of things, but in this instance, I fully support his protest and his exposure of Ruslan and the Bless God Summit. The sobering reality is that while Ruslan and his associates are raking in money and engaging in ecumenical theatrics at a swanky resort, their actions ultimately betray the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Following Mike Winger’s exposés of Shawn Bolz, Todd White, and Benny Hinn, the wider pattern of unreliable NAR‑aligned prophetic ministries has drawn massive attention. The resulting fallout has prompted a number of believers to distance themselves from charismatic churches, citing disillusionment with dishonest practices, unbiblical standards and false teaching. Churches shaped by unsound teaching and dishonest practices inevitably generate damage to the body of Christ.

I have written several posts warning about One Church in Leicester (formerly Trinity Life Church), going back to 2007 when David Hind's controversial appointment generated huge problems within the congregation. One Church is part of the charismatic Assemblies of God denomination, whose historical record proves difficult to defend when subjected to serious scrutiny.*

Susan Hind's "sermon" begins with a lie: "I am a pastor". There is no such position as a female pastor biblically. If a church has a female pastor, it is completely outside the will of God.  

Susan Hind continues with a story by CS Lewis. Lewis held several convictions that sit well outside biblical orthodoxy, earning him the reputation as a foundational voice of ecumenism. For instance, his Narnia narrative portrays salvation as accessible to those in other religions who remain unaware of Christ. Lewis dismissed "Penal Substitutionary Atonement" and embraced a "Christus Victor" reading that removes divine wrath from the cross entirely. These are substantial doctrinal departures.*

The Hinds have a subtle way of making believers feel perpetually deficient. There’s always another "breakthrough", another layer to “go deeper”. In reality, they replace the role of the Holy Spirit by creating functional dependency, implying that spiritual growth requires their personal intervention. While Christians should desire a deeper walk with God, this pattern is dangerous, particularly when it relies on subjective experience above scripture. The Hinds polished façade of spiritual maturity is only a mask, and their “prayers” are the last thing true believers should seek. A sincere pursuit of God doesn’t require chasing novelty; God leads His people into truth without the manufactured intensity others try to impose. (John 16:13). Scripture calls believers to pray for one another as a mutual practice, not a one‑way channel reserved for so‑called leaders (James 5:16).

Characteristics of NAR churches

Bethel Music: Mind-numbing, unbiblical mantras. Bethel Music serves as a Trojan horse for the NAR, introducing hazardous and unbiblical teachings into churches. Bethel’s own leaders acknowledge that their music is designed to bypass critical thought, creating openness to ideas people would otherwise reject if presented through direct teaching. They openly describe their songs as a strategic vehicle for spreading Bethel Church’s theology and practices into congregations around the world. For many, the music becomes the entry point into the wider New Apostolic Reformation—drawing them into events, conferences, and ultimately the movement’s doctrinal framework. This pathway often leaves individuals and families grappling with deep spiritual confusion and long‑term harm.

False prophecy: David Hind's failed "imminent revival" prophecy on the 1st of May 2022 has failed to come to pass. This is clear evidence that he is a false prophet.

David Hind (1st May 2022): "This is a fulfillment season, an outbreak season." 

(Deuteronomy 18:32; Ezekiel 13:13; Jeremiah 23:16; 2 Peter 2:1-3).

Revival: The revival mantra of false prophets collapses under biblical scrutiny. The New Testament prophesies rampant spiritual deception, apostasy, false prophets, lying signs and wonders, birth pains, and ultimately worldwide spiritual deception under the Antichrist. (Revelation 13:14). We should reject those who consistently prophesy "revival" or "awakening". False prophets tickle itching ears and tell people what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3).

Platforming false prophets: Over the years the Hinds have platformed a number of false prophets, including Benny Hinn and Mark Stibbe. The latest example is false prophet Simon Braker.

Constant Touting for money: False leaders' constant appeals for money for large building projects are often couched in terms of their "vision". Wolves who constantly tout for money will suck believers dry financially and spiritually, given the chance.

Inflated Titles: David Hind’s self‑designation as an “apostolic leader of leaders”, and Susan Hind’s assumption of the title “pastor” and her claim to be “prophetic” represent claims to authority that lack substantive biblical grounding. Their presumption sits uneasily alongside the cautions in Galatians 6:3, Philippians 2:3, 1 Corinthians 8:2, Proverbs 26:12, and 1 Corinthians 13:4 regarding self‑importance and inflated self‑assessment.

Boasting: The Hinds incessant emphasis on their own accomplishments—presented as evidence of divine activity—functions as a self‑promotional pattern rather than as a substantive ministry. Their reliance on these formulas displaces any careful or responsible exposition of scripture.

Eisegesis: The Hinds appalling record of taking verses out of context and their poor exegesis is unacceptable. Men aspiring to leadership positions within the church are unqualified if they lack a sound understanding of the scriptures. (Titus 1:9, 2:1; 1 Timothy 4:16; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). 

Lack of accountability: The Hinds leadership structure is sustained through nepotism and a close circle of associates, creating conditions that largely preclude meaningful accountability. This means that genuine complaints and grievances are likely to be blocked. Grievances at Bethel Church Redding were routinely dismissed under a distorted notion of “honour culture", in which leaders protected one another and left complainants without meaningful recourse. Reports indicate multiple individuals raised serious concerns at Bethel, and the documented cases fall far short of the large-scale claims often circulated.  

Ecumenism: False unity at the expense of sound doctrine. There is solid evidence that David Hind is ecumenical.

One Church ticks all the boxes for the NAR deception. One of their eight trustees is Philip Anthony John, who is also a trustee of NAR false Prophet Simon Baker's Legacy International Ministries.1  Braker is a close associate of false prophet Emma Stark, leader of Global Prophetic Alliance. This is a direct confirmation of One Church's close association and involvement with the NAR cult and is a huge red flag.

Matthew Corbitt: "The Assemblies of God’s structural flaws have fueled decades of instability, moral failure, and shallow discipleship. Rooted in revivalistic traditions, the movement often prioritizes emotional highs over lasting biblical governance. Mike Winger’s recent exposé of Shawn Bolz cuts both ways. It is, on one hand, a precise and devastating indictment of Bethel’s leadership and the wider NAR movement. However, his proposal to "restore" false prophets goes beyond what is written, and that overreach carries its own accountability. (Proverbs 30:5-6). In practice, Winger’s approach gives Bethel Church Redding further cover to draw unwary believers deeper into its theological snare. Those who call out false prophets have no business proposing their “restoration” or reforming the false ministries that enable them. That kind of presumption is not righteous. 

In scripture, false prophecy is not treated as a “mistake” but as a disqualifying act that reveals a deeper corruption of character and allegiance. The Bible gives no category for "restoring” a false prophet to ministry. It consistently treats false prophecy as a disqualifying, covenant‑breaking offence, not a lapse that can be rehabilitated. In the Old Testament, false prophecy is treated as a capital offence, not a recoverable mistake. Deuteronomy teaches that a prophet who speaks presumptuously in God’s name is not merely "misguided”—he is to be removed entirely from the community’s spiritual authority ..that same prophet shall die. (Deuteronomy 18:20). Jeremiah's warning is very apt in the current situation: ..you have made this people trust in a lie. (Jeremiah 28:15).

In the New Testament, false prophets are described as wolves. (Matthew 7:15). Wolves are not sheep (believers); they are to be identified and removed from the flock. The scriptural emphasis is on discernment and protection, not restoration to office. (Matthew 7:15-16).

Peter warns that false teachers ..secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. (2 Peter 2:1). The focus is on their danger to the body of Christ and God’s judgment—not their rehabilitation. There are models for restoring sinning believers to fellowship, but never for restoring false prophets. (Galatians 6:1; James 5:19-20).

Doug Geivett recently drew attention to the definition of "cover up".1 A "cover-up" is a deliberate effort to prevent people from discovering the truth about something bad. In other words, the term “cover‑up” inherently presumes knowledge and culpability. In their statement, Bill Johnson and Kris Vallotton admit to failure, misjudgment, blindness, and folly. What they do not confront is the core allegation itself: that they knowingly covered up Shawn Bolz's blatant sins. 

It should be noted that Shawn Bolz is the tip of the iceberg at Bethel. Chris Vallotton is himself a false prophet. Vallotton insists that he is not a false prophet and refers to his failed Trump prophecy in 2020 as an "inaccurate prophetic word" that he has had to "process".2 Bethel has platformed data-mining fraud Chris Reed, and cold reader Paul Cain, along with many false prophets, including Bob Jones, Ché Ahn, Mike Bickle, Todd Bentley, Ben Fitzgerald, etc. We can add fake glory clouds, fake gold dust, fake angel feathers, fake fire tunnels, as well as Sozo inner healing, grave sucking and all manner of false teaching and lying signs. The evidence is overwhelming: Bethel is a counterfeit church that is incapable of true repentance or restoration. As I heard one teacher say, "Heresy cannot be reformed". 

Vallotton's rapid change of perspective since his manipulative message on the 19th of January is due to an alleged "encounter with the Lord".3 In other words, the backlash was so great that he and Bill Johnson had no alternative but to come clean about their part in Shawn Bolz's spiritual fraud and abuse. Vallotton has already been caught red-handed lying in Winger's video, and he gives us no reason to believe or trust anything he says. It would be naive in the extreme to believe that Bethel's leadership have anything of value to offer the body of Christ. 

Forgiveness does not reinstate abusive leaders. Scripture commands us to release personal vengeance to God, but it never returns disqualified men to positions they have forfeited. Forgiveness may be extended, but fitness for ministry remains a separate matter, and trust cannot be rebuilt on sentiment.

What, exactly, does Winger aim to achieve by claiming a mandate to restore false prophets—a mandate scripture never grants? Some say he has poor discernment, but that doesn't make any sense. One of my concerns about Winger was the missing receipts for his Todd White exposé four months ago. However, he has recently, albeit belatedly, provided that much-needed evidence.4  Further concerns are his collaboration with false teacher Torben Sondergaard5 and also his association with TPUSA and ecumenism. Winger claims he wants us to "think biblically", yet the inconsistencies are impossible to ignore. I remain wary of Mike Winger. 

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. (Romans 16:17-18).

Bethel’s Silence on Shawn Bolz: Carelessness or Cover-Up?

The above is a detailed video lasting almost six hours that exposes false prophet Shawn Bolz. We might hail Winger as the hero of the day for exposing false teachers. However, I have reservations about Winger's ministry for reasons summarised below.

> Winger's attempt to devise a mechanism for reinstating discredited prophets to ministry is unbiblical. At the beginning of this video, he says that he is "hoping to bring positive reform into the charismatic church." Scripture treats false prophecy as a disqualifying act, not a recoverable error, and offers no basis for restoring false prophets to office. (2 Timothy 3:13).

> His attendance at the Charlie Kirk memorial and his further involvement and endorsement of TPUSA and ecumenism.
> His announcement that he was "changing" and was considering involvement in the gospel, combined with political activism.
> His endorsement of NAR heretics as recently as 2022, and his affirmation of Todd White as "sincere" and a "brother in Christ". 

> He has called for the death of Muslims in Nigeria. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? (1 Corinthians 5:12-13).

In Winger’s latest video, the issue of anonymous whistleblowers doesn’t arise; he cites a number of named witnesses. Bolz has already been exposed by several ministries, but Winger introduces additional, previously unheard information, and it is useful that it is consolidated in one place. His platform is sizable, and despite my reservations, there is at least the possibility that this video will jolt sincere believers entangled in the NAR to their senses.

NAR false prophets/teachers Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, Ché Ahn, Patricia King, Heidi Baker, etc., are a pack of wolves. It is well documented that Bethel Redding manufactures fake glory clouds, fake gold dust, fake angel feathers, fake fire tunnels, as well as practising grave sucking and all manner of false teaching and lying signs. Given their previous history, why is Winger shocked that Vallotton lied and is part of the deception and cover-up culture? 

Winger: "This desire Bethel has to restore fallen leaders is itself a good desire; it doesn't play out without cover-up culture. That's the problem."  (03:20 mark) 

Winger's conclusion: "My call for extreme action from Charismatic leaders." (5:39 mark).

"My call to Charismatic leaders is that you have to call them (false prophets) all out.. The one thing that is going to cleanse the world in the Charismatic world is the truth.. I hope there is real change. I hope there is real reform. I do believe it can happen, but it would take such a change of the structure that you guys would be calling out your own foundations as false. That's what it is going to take, and I will champion you if you do that."  

Winger misses the obvious: he is dealing with savage wolves, not wayward colleagues. His critique assumes that false prophet Kris Vallotton and other leaders at Bethel ought to have acted responsibly—exposing Bolz and safeguarding the wider church. But wolves do what wolves do; they are predatory, not protective. Expecting integrity from them, or appealing to a conscience already cauterised (1 Timothy 4:2), is futile. Scripture warns that such figures prioritise their own image over the truth. They cloak themselves in piety and claim divine authority, yet their words mislead, and their influence draws the undiscerning off course. It is not biblical to call for reform in this extreme situation; anyone who is truly saved needs to come out of this demonic environment. Biblically, the only action to take against false prophets and their enablers is to mark and avoid them. (Romans 16:17-18). In the Old Testament, false prophets were put to death. (Deuteronomy 18:20). In the New Testament, believers are commanded to mark and avoid (ἐκκλίνετε) false prophets/teachers. This is not optional; ἐκκλίνετε is a present imperative active verb.

I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears. (Acts 20:29-31).

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. (Matthew 7:15-20).

The popularity of NAR prophets is itself a warning sign. Jeremiah faced the same dynamic with the "court prophets"—men who delivered only the pleasant messages people preferred to hear. The NAR figures who cluster around Donald Trump illustrate the pattern clearly: they tell their audience exactly what it wants to hear. As Paul warned, some will always gravitate toward teachers who cater to itching ears. (2 Timothy 4:3).

Michael Grant argues that the solution is to simply abandon the charismatic gifts altogether—essentially, a full embrace of cessationism.1 The difficulty with that claim is that scripture affirms the ongoing reality of prophecy and other spiritual gifts, while also providing safeguards for their use. The biblical emphasis is not on shutting the gifts down, but on exercising discernment.

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions.. (2 Timothy 4:3).

Those who support the heresy of annihilationism must face the chilling fact that they are directly contradicting unequivocal scriptural evidence that hell is eternal conscious torment.  

And they shall go out and look on the dead bodies of the men who have rebelled against me. For their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.” (Isaiah 66:24 cf. Mark 9:44)

Study Bible: "The 'worm' and 'fire' are metaphors for unending decay and punishment. Isaiah chooses decay imagery to stress unending shame. A maggot-consuming corpse normally finishes its work; here the process 'never' ends. Jesus cites this phrase verbatim for Gehenna (Mark 9:47-48), affirming eternal, conscious punishment.

The incongruity of the two images shows that they are not to be understood literally; but both alike imply everlasting continuance, and are incompatible with either of the two modern heresies of universalism or annihilationism."1

Fire in Scripture pictures God’s wrath (Hebrews 12:29). It is 'unquenchable,' meaning no outside force can lessen or end it (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10).

The permanence of the fire matches the never-dying worm—dual metaphors underscoring one reality.

This affirms the literal, eternal nature of hell, a place prepared for the devil and his angels yet shared by all who persist in rebellion."2

And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:46) .

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Daniel 12:2).

 

The contrast and dual destiny between eternal life and eternal punishment are found in both the New and Old Testaments. It is possible for those who question eternal conscious punishment to use the same twisted logic to question eternal life. As such, annihilationism strikes at the very heart of the gospel itself. Those who view annihilationism as a secondary or even a tertiary issue should think again!

Bengel's Gnomen: "The Bible has no metaphysical distinctions, therefore it has no one word to express eternity; this it expresses by long periods joined with one another indefinitely. Αἰῶνες = עו̇לָמִים, æva: very long periods, which, multiplied indefinitely, give the only notion we can form of eternity. Ὡρα (Th. ὃρος, terminus), a definite space of time: καιρὸς, the time, the fit time: χρόνος, time, in its actuality, marking succession: αἰὼν, an indefinite course of time, without the notion of an end. See Tittm. Syn. Gr. Test. Ἀπʼ αἰώνων = from all eternity, a parte ante. Εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας = to all eternity, for ages, for ever, a parte post. As these phrases are applied to the eternity of God Himself, and as, moreover, αἰώνιος is applied to ζωὴ, which none deny to mean everlasting life, no objections (such as have been lately raised), from the meaning of αἰὼν, will hold good against the everlasting duration of punishment."3

And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Revelation 20:10)

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. (Matthew 25:41).

And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.” (Revelation 14:11).

They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might. (2 Thessalonians 1:9)

“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. (Luke 16:19-31).

As unpalatable as we may find the doctrine of eternal torment, the only way around it is to deny the scriptures. Those who choose this course may find themselves facing the very fate they seek to deny! (Galatians 6:7; Job 4:8; Hosea 8:7; Romans 2:6).

 

Mike Winger: "I'm open to the possibility of annihilationism or conditional immortality."4

Ray Comfort (Living Waters) is a longstanding associate of Kirk Cameron, although strangely, he denies having had any "official involvement" with him for over ten years. Comfort has consistently denied annihilationism, maintaining that the traditional doctrine of eternal conscious torment is the correct biblical view. He has publicly addressed Cameron's recent comments on annihilationism, emphasising that Cameron's views do not align with Living Waters' long-held position.5  Comfort regularly appears on the apostate channel TBN, and he and Cameron hosted a joint fundraiser on TBN last year.6 😞

Cameron previously supported the pretrib rapture view and starred in the "Left Behind" film, which was released in 2000. "Left Behind" pretribulational theology is not biblically accurate and has been widely criticised and debunked by various bible teachers. Cameron subsequently changed his view from pretribulationism to posttribulationism following discussions with Joe Schimmel (Blessed Hope Chapel). Once again, Cameron did not do his due diligence and he failed to recognise the flaws in Schimmel's posttribulational eschatology. (1 John 4:1). More recently, Cameron has promoted a more world-and-life view, focusing on family, history, and cultural renewal rather than "apocalyptic fear". He now claims that the rapture may not happen for millennia.7  This view aligns more with postmillennialism, although Cameron has not formally identified with any particular tradition. Cameron's disjointed history indicates that he is not a reliable source and is unqualified to teach theology. (2 Timothy 2:15). The scriptures state that no one knows the day or the hour, and we should watch rather than speculate about the time of Jesus' Parousia. Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. (Matthew 24:36,42,25:13). Furthermore, the scriptures do not hold out an optimistic eschatological view; in fact, just the reverse. 

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, , unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. (2 Timothy 3:1-5 cf. Matthew 24:12; 1 Timothy 4:1; 2 Peter 3:3; Jude 1:18 ).

I suggest that we take the advice of the apostle and mark and avoid Kirk Cameron. (Romans 16:17-18).

Mike Winger Endorses the Next Crusade | @Mike Winger

Above is a video by E511 Ministries. I am unfamiliar with their theology, and as such, I am unable to endorse them at the present time. The video demonstrates that Mike Winger is calling for the death of Muslims in Nigeria. I find this absolutely shocking! Along with others, Winger has turned away from the gospel in favour of political activism, and he now supports the TPUSA MAGA Trump agenda. 

The original Crusades took place between 1095 and 1291 and were initiated by the papacy to reclaim and defend the Holy Land (especially Jerusalem) from Muslim control. The result of the crusades strengthened papal authority and influenced European politics, trade and culture. In biblical terms, the Crusades were unrighteous and did not align with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Any crusade-style response to the terrible genocide and atrocities committed in Nigeria is tainted by fleshly political manoeuvrings and is unbiblical. Trump is not a Christian, and his agenda is not based on biblical principles. Winger's emotive one-size-fits-all is a gross distortion of the truth. According to various sources, the reality is more complex than simply framing the violence as "Christian genocide". Violence in Nigeria has affected both Muslims and Christians. Much of Nigeria’s violence is Muslim-on-Muslim as well as Muslim>Christian. In northern Nigeria, especially, many victims of Boko Haram, ISWAP, and bandit groups are themselves Muslims, indicating that the crisis is not simply one religion against another.*

Muslims make up approximately 50-55% of Nigeria's population, while Christians make up approximately 45-49%. The Christian population can be broken down into Roman Catholics in the east, and Protestants in the south (Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists and Independent/Pentecostal megachurches: Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Winners’ Chapel, and Christ Embassy are among the largest, with millions of members worldwide. As in other countries, the designation "Christian" is no indication of the true number of bible believing born-again Christians in Nigeria. In fact, the acute corruption in Nigeria is in no small part due to unscrupulous church leaders!

Vanguard: "Abuja — The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has made a shocking allegation that some religious groups in Nigeria are more corrupt than public officials.
Speaking at a leadership conference of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) over the weekend, Olukoyede claimed that the EFCC has recovered millions of naira from a religious organization recently.
'Pastors have made wealth the centrepiece of the gospel, which is far from the doctrine given to us by the apostles,' he said.
Akintunde was reacting to a viral video of a pastor allegedly claiming that God accepts tithes from proceeds of fraud and cybercrime."1 

Church Times Nigeria: "We live in an era of unprecedented religious visibility. Megachurches dot the skylines of major cities, religious broadcasting saturates the airwaves, and social media feeds are inundated with spiritual aphorisms.
Yet, beneath this veneer of vibrancy, a quiet crisis is unfolding. It is a crisis not of attendance, but of substance; not of passion, but of depth.
As noted in recent critiques of contemporary ecclesiology, the modern church is increasingly producing 'two-dimensional Christians', believers who possess a breadth of enthusiasm but a shallowness of understanding.
The prevailing focus on hyper-spiritism and radical prosperity has created a theological vacuum. In many urbanised pulpits, the historic Christian faith, once characterised by intellectual rigour, sacrificial love, and the navigation of suffering, has been repackaged into a “fast food diet” of immediate gratification.
This shift raises profound questions about the sustainability of such a faith and the spiritual legacy being left for the next generation. If the church is to survive the cultural and intellectual storms of the twenty-first century, it must move beyond the populist preachments of success and return to the foundational, albeit challenging, work of theological education and discipleship."2

Punch: "The Lead Pastor of Hilltop City Christian Centre, Lagos, Victor Akintunde, has said church 
leaders also share the blame for the country’s deepening corruption crisis.
In an interview, Akintunde expressed concern that many prominent pastors had veered away from the core message of Christianity, replacing it with an obsession with prosperity and wealth.
'Part of the corrupt tendencies that have bedevilled Nigeria emanated from church leaders.
'Many of us have left the message of Christ and are now fixated on prosperity." 3 

Similar to the UK, Europe and other countries, it appears that the number of true Christians in Nigeria is a small remnant. It is therefore a misnomer to identify Nigerian churchgoers as "our brothers and sisters" or "Christian martyrs". TPUSA, including Mike Winger and others, are in fact exacerbating an already bad situation by inciting violence due to their warped version of reality. I view the current situation as a call to repentance and an opportunity to proclaim the true gospel to both the Muslim population and to "professing" Christians who are not genuine believers. 

Those associated with TPUSA have compromised with a tainted ecumenical gospel, which is really no gospel at all. (Galatians 1:7). I am all in favour of raising strong objections and taking sanctions against the perpetrators of genocide in Nigeria, but this should be done in collaboration with the true gospel, which is the only solution for the world. (John 8:12).

Winger seems to have "forgotten" the clear teaching of Jesus Christ not to endorse violent action against persecutors.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, / that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. / If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same? (Matthew 5:44-48).

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. (Luke 6:35).

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:14-21).

For though we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. (2 Corinthians 10:3).

To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste… (Deuteronomy 32:35,43)

Greg Laurie's insensitively named "Harvest Crusade" recently intersected with TPUSA following the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The event took place on the 16th of November at Utah Valley University, and drew over 10,000 attendees. Laurie is the founder of Harvest Christian Fellowship (HCF) which is yet another mega church experiencing severe allegations of sexual abuse and cover up at the present time. Multiple lawsuits filed in 2025 allege that a former pastor and missionary associated with HCF abused and trafficked children at church-supported homes in Romania in the early 2000's. The suits also claim HCF and senior leaders, including Greg Laurie, were negligent in failing to present the abuse or respond adequately to warnings. There are currently ongoing public calls for Laurie to resign as Senior Pastor of HCF.4 

Many associated with TPUSA should address the plank in their own eye before they presume to inflict their views on others! (Matthew 7:3-5; Isaiah 9:16).

TPUSA: THE LETHAL MIXTURE POLITICS AND CHRISTIANITY

Charlie Kirk: Martyr for the Seven Mountain Mandate

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church (ἐκκλησίαν), and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18).  

Charlie Kirk's interpretation of the above verse is a mandate for Christians to "build my church on this government structure". Kirk falsely claimed that the Greek noun ἐκκλησία (ekklesia) should be interpreted as "government structure". However, Jesus did not call Christians to build on existing government structures; He said I will build my church. Kirk's blatant misinterpretation of this verse accommodates the lethal seven mountain mandate. The lexical interpretation of ἐκκλησία is from a compound of ek (meaning 'from' or 'out of') and a derivative of kaleo (to call (forth). Strongs: "1577 ekklēsía(from 1537 /ek, 'out from and to' and 2564 /kaléō, 'to call') – properly, people called out from the world and to God, the outcome being the Church (the mystical body of Christ) – i.e. the universal (total) body of believers whom God calls out from the world and into His eternal kingdom. [The English word 'church' comes from the Greek word kyriakos, 'belonging to the Lord' (kyrios). 1577 /ekklēsía ('church') is the root of the terms 'ecclesiology' and 'ecclesiastical.']"1 People are called out of the world into the kingdom of God; It is Christ who builds His church, not Christians! Kirk's lethal strategy was to target the young and to shut down any objections without allowing anyone the time or opportunity to test his claims. (1 John 4:1). 

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” (John 18:36).

TPUSA, Dominion Theology, the NAR, and those who believe that secular government and Christians can work together to achieve Christian principles in the world are in serious error. (1 John 4:6). TPUSA is ostensibly a "Christian" organisation, and while they espouse some Christian values, there are red flags everywhere. Charlie Kirk gave his full support to the NAR seven mountain mandate. His divisive rhetoric against the black community was indefensible, and his ecumenism was demonstrated by his endorsement of the Roman Catholic Church and his validation of Mormonism. (2 Corinthians 11:14). On the 26th of September 2025, Vivek Ramaswamy, a Hindu and Republican candidate, faced questions about his faith at a Turning Point USA event. Ramaswamy is a veteran of Charlie Kirk’s “Prove me wrong” campus colloquies. Ramaswamy: “Every religion has its reconciling of the one and the many. And so, in my faith, I believe there’s one true God, he resides in all of us, and he appears in different forms, but it’s one true God. I’m an ethical monotheist.”2 

Politics and Christianity are like oil and water; their source are completely different. Politics is based on worldly governance, which is under the dominion of Satan. Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” (John 18:36).

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” (Matthew 4:8-10).

When Christians seek to infiltrate and influence the political strongholds of the world, they disobey Christ and transfer their allegiance to Satan's dominion. Paul used the terms "powers and principalities" to describe spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12). The apostles were subversives; they were killed because they were opponents of the state. The Christian mandate is to rescue people from the world  i.e. make disciples of all nations, and to preach the gospel to all creation. (Matthew 28:10; Mark 16:15). It is impossible for true Christians to gain political influence in the world without betraying the gospel. The world rejects and hates true Christians. (Matthew 10:22; John 17:14; 1 John 2:15; 2 Timothy 3:12-13). 

If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (John 5:19).

Worldly influence only becomes possible when collusion and compromise are involved. The world is perishing and will ultimately be destroyed. (1 John 2:17; Matthew 24:35). According to the seven mountain mandate, the aim is for Christians to ultimately rule the nations. There is no persecution or cost involved in their agenda. Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.. (2 Timothy 3:12).

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:10-13).

The Antichrist will arise from the political arena. 

And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority. (Revelation 13:1-2). 

Revelation 13:1-2 draws from the four successive beast kingdoms in Daniel 7. Daniel's vision describes four distinct terrifying creatures placed in juxtaposition to the saints and the kingdom of God:‘These four great beasts are four kings who shall arise out of the earth. But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, forever and ever.’ (Daniel 7:17-18). The four beasts are described as the empires of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome, aligning with the vision of the statue in Daniel 2. In biblical literature, the sea often symbolizes chaos, evil, and the nations in turmoil. (Isaiah 17:12-13 cf. Revelation 17:15). 

I will briefly refer to Caleb Corneloup's recent video and his argument for Christians to be involved in politics.3 Caleb refers exclusively to characters from the Old Testament. While these examples are interesting, they are not relevant to the global situation and the nations today. Ancient Israel was a theocracy that was established by God Himself as outlined in the Torah. As such, it was unavoidable that their leaders would be politically active. We cannot compare Old Testament passages about political involvement with today's political activism in His name. No nation today has a covenant with God. Jesus Christ will establish a global theocracy when He returns.

Those who profess Christianity and use politics as a vehicle to achieve their goals inevitably become persecutors. Following Constantine’s alleged conversion to Christianity in 321AD, Augustine of Hippo introduced many heresies and paved the way for Roman Catholicism. Augustine argued that coercion was justified as a method of persuasion and correction. The dark history of Charlemagne, who was crowned Holy Roman Emperor in 800, is beyond doubt. The Roman Catholic Crusades from the 11th to the 13th centuries were a mix of politics, religion, and violence, during which time many atrocities were committed. Both Luther and Calvin made wicked choices when they held political power. Luther compromised when he opposed the peasants' revolt and sided with "the princes". Luther sanctioned the death penalty for Anabaptists, resulting in some of them being "rebaptised" by drowning in the Danube with rocks tied to their feet. Luther's open hatred of the Jews is well known, as is his rejection of certain New Testament books and his attempt to ban them. Geneva became a repressive authoritarian police state under the abuser John Calvin. Michael Seretus was murdered in 1553 for daring to disagree with Calvin. The NAR seven mountain mandate belongs to the same category as its predecessors; the seeds are being sown, and the final result will be the beast empire of the Antichrist. 

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.”And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. (Revelation 17:1-6). 

And the angel said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute.
