BEWARE OF CHANNELLER SIMON BRAKER: SCHOOL OF THE SPIRIT LEICESTER

For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. (2 Corinthians 11:4).

I have now spent some time listening to NAR "Prophet" Simon Braker in detail. It seems appropriate to unravel some of Braker's highly dangerous occult teaching that is being foisted onto various congregations in the UK in the name of "another Jesus".

Firstly it is important to recognise that the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is an aberrant and unbiblical movement that is infiltrating many denominations by stealth. The success of the NAR is due either to deliberate compromise or ignorance on the part of many church leaders, whose role is to protect the flock. (Acts 20:28). These leaders should know better and they will be held to account! (Hebrews 4:13). The shocking result is that many Christians are being lead away from the truth of the scriptures into occult practices. I have previously written in some depth about gravesucker and NAR "Apostle" Bill Johnson of Bethel Church in Redding. Unsurprisingly, Johnson/Bethel are ecumenical and are openly involved with the Roman Catholic Church. Simon Braker is another clear example of the wave of occultism literally sweeping so called "Christian" denominations through the spirit of error. (1 John 4:6).

I have directed my attention to Braker's performance at Revival Night Ministry on the 14th October 2017 at Living Waters Foursquare Church London: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQxeq42b-34&t=879s

Braker announced almost straight away that he had been "drunk" for two weeks.. he described himself as "..an experience addict.. I want as many experiences as I can get.."

Braker: "Revelation without experience is not revelation.. it is impotent.. it doesn't produce anything. If the Bible says God is love, I want to experience His love. If the Bible says 'be filled with the Spirit', I don't want the theological knowledge that we are filled with the Spirit, I want the experience of being filled. If the Bible says that He revives, I want to experience the power of revival and resurrection. If the Bible says that God will do abundantly more than we can ask or imagine, I want to experience the more than we can ask or imagine.."

I want, I want, I want, I want, I want!!!   (Matthew 6:10; Luke 22:42; Acts 21:14).

Braker assumes that those of us who abide by the scriptures never experience the love and presence of God. This is a lie from the pit of hell! Certainly the "drunk" experience, together with the hysterical laughter, the jerking, the twitching, the blowing, the strange sounds and "impartations" that Braker manifests are alien to the scriptures. In my own case, I have "experienced" the love and presence of God, and I have received many confirmations and revelations from the Lord minus these unscriptural manifestations . ..for we walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7). Whether we get the fuzzy feelings or not, we need to trust that the Lord is faithful to His Word! Jesus promised PEACE, not experience!

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27).

For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling.. (Isaiah 30:15).

And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. (Isaiah 32:17).

Braker: "The way you enter the world is through a push.. if that is the way we enter the natural world, then why would we believe that that would not be the way that we breakthrough into the spiritual world.." I don't want to insult anyone, but have to wonder if Braker's audience was a bit dense. The way we enter the natural world is not through our own efforts or "push" at all! (John 15:5).

Braker: "It is time for the fire to start burning again, and the sound of the fire is in this room... the sound of heaven is in the room.."   (the sound of heaven?)

Braker proceeded to call out the young guitarist who was leading the worship. "This is what I heard the Lord say while you were leading worship.. 'Stop singing inside the lines of other people's songs.' I tell you, when you were leading prophetically you were releasing the sound of the nation... you have got the tuning fork, you know how to match the sound of the lands to heaven... God is going to use you to build the bridge.. every move of the spirit has got its own sound.. (really!!)  So I speak to your spirit and I say release the sound.. Jesus wreck him, mess him up, do something.. etc. etc." The young man by now was doubled up and started laughing hysterically along with the congregation.. (28 minutes into the video). This is what I refer to as "puffing up" i.e. giving individuals false ideas about their supposed influential "destiny". Braker then got the whole worship team to stand up and announced: "A sound is going to be released".

Braker: "John the Baptist was drunk from conception."  (verse?)
Braker: "The colour of grace is green.."  (verse?)

The whole bizarre scene continued for some time with various rantings and personal prophecies in the first person of the Lord. The meeting concluded with Braker claiming to see an angel: "..the angel of the Lord's presence.." Thus ended the Simon Braker show!

School of the Spirit:

In essence, Braker's School of the Spirit is all about channelling, which is another word for mediumship through familiar spirits. Channelling can be accompanied by various phenomena, some of which are manifested by Braker e.g. jerking, twitching, hysterical laughter, "drunkenness" etc. as already mentioned above. Those most at risk from Braker and his ilk are gullible individuals who are ignorant of the scriptures. The scriptures specifically forbid mediumship and all occult practices. (Deuteronomy 18:9-12). False teachers leave a trail of spiritual devastation in their wake e.g. spiritual deception, bondage, demon possession, unhealthy dependency, exploitation, mental/emotional issues and breakdown, physical harm, shortened life etc. The hidden strategy of the powers and principalities behind these false teachers is to gain the confidence of those who are ignorant of the scriptures, the final aim being their spiritual ruin. (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Braker teaches the diametric opposite to the scriptures. He teaches budding "prophets" in his School of the Spirit: "It is not about getting it right, it is about taking a risk and being prepared to get it wrong." {1} Braker does not mention that the real apostles and prophets in the Bible were 100% correct, which is why we talk about inerrancy. False prophets seduce people away from the Lord. The scriptures admonish us to "test the spirits" due to the unavoidable danger of "many false prophets".

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1).

But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22).

Signs and wonders are no guarantee of authenticity:

“If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.." (Deuteronomy 13:1-5).

Braker: "Do not worry about whether this fits into your paradigm." In other words, do not worry about doctrine (the teaching of Jesus Christ and the real apostles and prophets) and the safeguards clearly laid out for our protection in the scriptures. (1 John 4:1). It is all about the "experience".

These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.” (2 Peter 2:17-22).

False "Prophet" Simon Braker and false "Apostle" John McGinley operate from Holy Trinity Church in Leicester (CofE).

  1. Simon Faker (er, Braker) may be laughing now, but he and his assorted charlatans, frauds, and pretenders will be crying and screaming in the future - count on it! They should have foresight and live on property containing rocks so that if they haven't repented of their apostasy they will be in position to cry for the rocks to hide them from the wrath of the Lamb!

  2. It is strange that the eventual fate of false prophets doesn't put them off Irv. I have often wondered how they can live with themselves, let alone the thought of facing the wrath of God at the end. God bless.

  3. Certainly these wolves are preaching "another gospel" Galatians 1.6-7, which is also "another spirit" 2 Corinthians 11.4.

Have a look on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiritualism under the sub section "Comparisons With Other Religions Protestant Christianity" and read the "1865 Broadsheet" with the images of the witch of Endor, Satan & Saul.

How far removed are Johnson, Braker & Co's activities from what is described there?

    God bless.

  4. I agree Colin.. those attending Braker's meetings might just as well attend spiritualist meetings. It did occur to me that Braker makes it up, but on the other hand, the occult manifestations indicate that spiritual entities are involved. Either way he is to be avoided. God bless.

"I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive." Romans 16:17-18
