JACOB PRASCH MORIEL MINISTRIES: THE METATRON HERESY

Prasch sinks further into false teaching and heresy, recently referring to the Metatron as Jesus Christ on YouTube: Jacob Prasch -The Metatron.{1} This is one of the most convoluted teachings I have heard from Prasch, probably deliberately so in order to confuse his hearers.

The Metatron is described as an angelic being in the Babylonian Talmud, in various other mystical writings and in the apocryphal books of Enoch. In these writings, it is said that after Enoch's translation (Genesis 5:24), that he was transformed into the angel Metatron. The Greek Meta+Tron translates Beyond+Matrix. The Metatron is referred to as "Lesser YHVH" in a version of the Talmud by the Karite scholar Kirkisani. Jewish myths are condemned in the New Testament - as such Christians should completely avoid such teachings:

Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, not devoting themselves to Jewish myths and the commands of people who turn away from the truth. (Titus 1:13-14 cf. 1Timothy 1:4; 2 Timothy 4:4).

Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God. (Colossians 2:18-19).

A warning from Compelling Truth:

"Metatron is at best a legend, and at worst, a deception—there is no reason to believe he exists. The Bible never mentions him, and the descriptions of Metatron in the mystical writings do not agree with the biblical descriptions of angels. The Bible tells us not to pursue 'godless myths and old wives' tales' but to instead train ourselves in godliness (1 Timothy 4:7 NIV). Furthermore, the worship of angels is associated with asceticism and false visions, and is opposed to the worship of Christ (Colossians 2:18-19)." {2}

In fact this is not a new heresy from Prasch after all! He referred to "the Metatrone" as "the Lord Jesus" four times in his book 'Harpazo' (2014) (pages 11, 135, 271, 357).

Prasch:"As no one can see God and live, (Ex.33:20), God would therefore appear in a human form as a 'Christophany', often as 'The Angel of the Lord' or Ha Malach Adoni (known as the Metatrone in Judaism). This is the Lord Jesus." (emphasis mine). {3}

  3. More confirmation (if more were needed!) of the cult that is Moriel Prasch. All cults go astray from the Holy Bible; Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Baha'i...

  4. Hi Treena. I heard a few messages by JP a while back in which he cited Metatron as being the pre-incarnate Christ. I found them disturbing as I found much of his Mishnah teaching. (DTW has an article on the latter.)Knowing now that he has always been a "wannabe Jew" passing as Jewish makes such teaching all the more suspect.
One does not need to go to fantasy characters from the Talmud (a book full of slander about Jesus Christ) to comment on the one-time Jewish speculation that God is a united being. Michael Heisler in his books and YT videos teaches that during the Second Temple era, Jewish sages such as Philo were teaching that there were two powers in the Godhead (not that they used that term), one of which they identified as "the Logos". Once the Christian era began, they backed off from this completely and labelled it heresy. There is a book written by a Jew about this.
    Excellent article. Mike

  5. Here is a link to a book dealing with this one-time Jewish speculation, which was very close to the doctrine of the Trinity :

  7. Hi Treena, I have read a few of your articles on your views of Jacob Prasch's teaching. reminds me of when I was a new christian. I thought some pretty wacky things then, and later in life when you really begin to understand the complexities of the bible, and the wisdom from which it is contrived. Some times when trying to understand something very difficult, you start reaching, and that's when you get in trouble. Jacobs teaching on the restrainer couldn't be more wrong. The one that's letting work is the Devil, he's Gods most Perfect in all his ways until INIQUITY was found in him, he is the cause of iniquity, the father of it. When he is cast to the earth by Michael and his angels, he is taken out of the way. The Devil is the one that's taken out of the way, NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT?

I also have been looking at the two powers in heaven teaching which I again believe is false. It appears it leads to teaching there are two Yahweh's has claimed by someone posting on Prasch's Metatron teaching. Is this not what Muslims accuse us of, that we believe in more than one God? This stuff seems to lead down some rabbit trails!

    2. Hi Treena, thanks for your work exposing Mr Prashant. I know you have put yourself in the firing line,. You are in our prayers.

Not wanting to give you information overload, but here is a video of a Mormon teaching Metatron and the two Yahweh's. This would fit right in with Mormonism as they believe in multiple God's. Hope this is helpful. Maybe Jacob learned this teaching off of this gentleman 😀.

  9. I have not looked in detail at the Two Powers teaching of the temple era, but Michael Heisler simply refers to it as evidence that the Jews had some notion of plurality as regards God at the time of Christ. John by the Spirit, even used Philo's term "the Logos" in John 1:1,although I believe Philo and others had a distorted concept of this second power. Nonetheless, the claims of Christ caused the Jewish rabbis to label the doctrine heretical and act as though it was never a common speculation. I find it most interesting that this was being thought about at the time when the Incarnation revealed the Godhead to both Jews and Gentiles.
Yahweh is translated as Lord in the KJV. Psalm 110 says "The Lord said to my Lord.." & it is my understanding that the original Hebrew has Yahweh for both, but the Jews often substitute Adonai for the second one. In Genesis 19:24 it appears that two Lords are involved in destroying Sodom (a good point to bring up for those who think Christ was non-commital on the subject of homosexuality). Also, in the shema, the word used for "one" is not the word for a singular being/thing but for a corporate being/thing.
The Trinity is a mystery but if the oneness of God is overstressed it leads to Modalism. Likewise, if the plurality of God is overstressed, polytheism is the misguided result. The Father, Son and Spirit are all Yahweh/Lord and united in a way that it is beyond the understanding of a finite mind. However, they are not so united that One of them cannot take on human form and struggle to submit His will to that of the others on one famous occasion and sit on a separate throne etc. The misunderstandings of unbelievers should not hinder us from presenting the revealed facts of scripture regarding the unity and plurality of the Living God.

  10. A YT channel, JESUS IS MY GOD has a couple of videos exposing JP and his Metatron doctrine, which is from the Kaballah, I think. It is pointed out that after spending an hour "exposing" Amir Tsarfati for teaching that Christ is Michael (an error he recanted of soon afterwards) Prasch himself calls Christ this fictional angel which is in fact Satan in disguise. Theresa, the host of this channel, says there are other Talmudic Jews who pretend to be Messianic who teach this doctrine. She does not seem to have heard that JP is a fake Jew as yet. There are some interesting videos on the Noahide laws and the agenda of Chabadic Jews which seem to tie in with the coming anti - Christ ruling from Israel. She is prolific and thought-provoking and has some unusual videos from other channels which she comments on. I do not agree 100% with her but her exposè on JP is pretty spot on. Best way to find these is to go to her channel and search under Prasch.

  11. My view Mike.. Prasch's expose of Amir Tsarfati was a ploy to cover his Metatron heresy.
I have done a little research on the Noahide Laws and I will post something at some point.
    Thank you for the information.
    God bless.

  12. I would encourage people to pray for Prash he is seriously not right in his mind. And I’m not a doctor so I do not know where the confusion stems from. His argument is a non-argument because of the conflicts in his own statements. I have never seen such strawmen used ever. No wonder I couldn’t find it! It still doesn’t say meta, though.”Proof check him when he states that the Old Testament and the New Testament use Metatron. Its a jumbled bunch of nonsense and you can even hear it in his voice. Use the Holy Spirit and scripture, You do not need to know the Koran to evangelize Muslims You don’t need to know the Kabbalah or Zohar to witness to the Jews. That’s a lie. Use the Holy Spirit through scripture. And after listening to this video (and I watched the whole thing). Jacob excuses people that do not agree with him as ignorant. He is confused and stumbles all over the place. This guy is a false teacher and Prasch, Moriel and ALL their affiliates need to be avoided. Jacob wants it both ways. If the Metatron is in the Old and New Testament why not just use scripture? And the Metatron is not in scripture. Jacob is trying to have it both ways and he still gets it wrong. And none of this explains the 4 Harpazo quotes using the Metatron that do not site the Zohar or the Kabbalah. Fact check and make up your own mind.
Sharing the gospel through the scriptures is powerful enough because we have the Holy Spirit. Using the fact that Paul quoted some pagan authors is pure proof text. And excuse boosting Jacobs error. The scriptures do not teach to use the false to reveal the truth. If you are a saved Christian you have the Holy Spirit. It’s not about arguing someone into the kingdom. We can’t save anyone anyway. It’s about loving people, being nice and sharing the gospel from there. The Holy Spirit does not need our help. Do your part, be loving share the gospel and then let God work.

Prasch refers to occurrences of meta (middle) in Isaiah 5 - saying that it is "middle of God's throne".
Isaiah 5:2 The vineyard of the Lord.. " I built a watchtower in the MIDDLE.." = μέσῳ This refers to the "middle of the vineyard". Israel is the Lord's vineyard I believe. It does not refer to the throne of God at all! The other occurrence of meta is Isaiah 5:25 "Their carcasses were as refuse in the midst (μέσῳ) of the streets."

  14. Tim says "Its a jumbled bunch of nonsense..." I most certainly agree!
He also strongly stresses in his last post that you cannot convert anyone be he a Jew, Gentile or an atheist, unless the preached Word comes with God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Truly God's Word is a "hammer" Jer.23:29! He WILL convict!
With this in mind, as Tim was once heavily involved with Moriel Prasch, would he care to confirm whether or not Prasch said that Christians shouldn't use Scripture or use religious sounding arguments when using the "Daniel Project" as a witnessing tool? I believe that he did, but stand corrected if wrong.
I don't want to add to the lies and deceit.

    God bless.

  15. Hi Colin: The Daniel Project was a really well put together documentary. Probably one of the best ever filmed. Jacob never spoke to me about the Danial Project much and he never said to me "Christians shouldn't use Scripture or use religious sounding arguments when using the "Daniel Project:. Lister was the one who spoke to me about the Danial Project and he just griped that they never had enough of the free ones to sell and give away. Your question would be better answered by Deborah Menelaws if she even is aware of this. Sorry . Blessings in Jesus-Tim

  16. Tim,
    Thank you for that.
I did just look up the Daniel Project, and Studio Scotland say of this project: "Our first challenge was how to present it. There were plenty of (often very poor) religious attempts to do so...secondly, we didn't want it to be a Big Preach..."

Now, I believe that Prasch went along with this stupid line of reasoning. Studio Scotland, Prasch and whoever else were trying to evangelize without "religious attempts"! Who are Studio Scotland to judge what is a "very poor" witness? God's Word is a "hammer"! The 'poorest' witness from Scripture is a zillion times better than our OWN reasoning; is it not? And what of Studio Scotland's not wanting the Daniel Project to be a "Big Preach"? What crass thinking! The Bigger the Preaching the better!
    God bless.

  17. Lest any should think otherwise, I don't doubt for one minute that "The Daniel Project was a really well put together documentary..." as Tim says. I did watch various trailers, but never felt led to buy/watch the whole thing. Studio Scotland are a professional outfit, they know how to put a production together.
The point I am making is that we err greatly by thinking it is through our professionalism, putting a 'perfect' well oiled production, sermon, teaching (you name it!) that will be the catalyst for bringing a person to Christ-not so! It is the sole prerogative of God's gracious Holy Spirit as discussed above.
God will bless the mutterings of a stammering 'half-wit', if he quotes Scripture faithfully!
    God bless.

  18. I have followed Yacob Prasch for years. For about 6 months now I have been following his disciple Joshua from Servus Christi because he does a good job outting some very bad false teachers and heretics.

However when he sent me an email "correcting" me last night for commenting on his you tube why don't you ever talk about the heresies of Jacob Prasch he wasn't very happy and he deleted my comments on his youtube channel for the second time.

Does Jacob/Yacob think that everyone is so stupid that we can't tell when someone is speaking heresy?

Granted some of us over a long period of time have had to do a lot of trial and error in learning Greek and Hebrew. Especially challenging when the Jewish leaders have never obeyed God's direction in Deuteronomy to teach the nations. They have hidden the feasts and festivals from us. They have lied about and hidden Jesus birthday. They have withheld cultural facts that would be very helpful.

Despite most Orthodox Jews hatred for our savior and us Goyim, we are still to pray for them.

Jacob Prasch's "Answers to do you teach Kaballah" was comical or at least would be if it hadn't been so sad and disturbing.

Really you use the Babylonian Talmud and Zohar to teach Orthodox Jews about Jesus? They call Yeshua Yeshu and spit after saying the insulting name. They call Jesus the bastard of Mary the whore.

Would any real bible believing Christian use the writings of the lunatic Charles Manson to bring his followers to Christ? Would you use the writings of Buddha or Confucius to lead Budhists to Christ? Please Yacob fall on your knees before the throne and confess your sins to the Lord and ask him to forgive you.

This video of Yacob teaching about Metatron at a church and then afterwards being interviewed by Joshua from Servus Christi trying to cover his tracks and try to make it look good to say Metatron is Jesus is very sad.
