DOREEN VIRTUE ~ SERVUS CHRISTI STRIKES AGAIN!

Once again, Servus Christi/Joshua Chavez leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth with his vicious attack on Justin Peters. In the original video (now removed), Chavez repeated the slander that Justin Peters approves of New Age visions and teachings. (2 Timothy 3:3). Doreen Virtue claims to have completely renounced the New Age Movement. {1} Although Chavez's attitude leaves a lot to be desired, his update does bring up some points of concern about Doreen Virtue that are not easily dismissed.

Doreen Virtue Damage Control & Deception
Servus Chrisi ~ 13th May 2020

About Doreen Virtue:
"Doreen Virtue holds a B.A. and M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Chapman University. She is the author of many books, including the daily devotional, “Mornings with the Lord” and “Sweet Dreams Scripture,” and the “Loving Words from Jesus Cards.” Her newest book, “The Joy of Jesus,” is available as a free ebook download at bit.ly/TheJoyofJesus – This book tells the story of why Doreen converted from new age to Christianity. The book is also available in paperback on amazon. Raised in the new age, Doreen had a profound vision of Jesus on January 7, 2017 that led to her getting baptized and converting to Christianity. During the entire year of 2018, she led a daily online Bible support and encouragement group on Instagram Live, and on Vimeo. She is now enrolled in full-time Bible study, as learning and applying the Word of God is her highest priority." {2}

Doreen is a relatively new believer (?) who claims to have come to faith in 2017. Unfortunately she has fallen foul of the grievous error of Calvinism. Assuming that Doreen is a genuine Christian, it is far too soon to be launching herself into the public domain as a person of influence or to consider becoming a teacher.

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. (James 3:1).

Regarding overseers: He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. (1 Timothy 3:6).

I know from my own bitter experience in charismania that it takes time, often years, to rid oneself of the errors of false Antichrist systems masquerading as Christianity, and I include Calvinism in that classification. Calvinism is a form of philosophy that deceptively embeds error into the scriptures. In addition, many Calvinists (e.g. John MacArthur) teach the dangerous false pre-trib rapture doctrine and the "once saved always saved" error. New believers are a vulnerable target for Satan. (2 Corinthians 11:14). Another issue for me is that Doreen Virtue is probably not her real name.* I do not see anyone in the scriptures going by another name. My advice to Doreen: Pull back from what you are doing and study the scriptures independently of the Calvinists. (2 Timothy 2:15).

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— (1 Peter 2:2).

UPDATE:

Both Doreen Virtue and Justin Peters have responded to Joshua Chavez's accusations (links below). These responses appear to confirm that Doreen has renounced anything New Age. I would reiterate that if Doreen is a genuine Christian (?) then she is relatively young in the Lord. As such she should stay out of the public domain until she becomes more mature. It is a humiliating thing to make ones mistakes so publicly, if indeed this was a mistake. I am still unclear why Doreen left certain material on her website that should have been removed long ago. Although I would like to give Doreen the benefit of the doubt, there are some inconsistencies surrounding her testimony that do not add up. I do not endorse Joshua Chavez, but in this particular instance, I have to agree that Doreen Virtue is either extremely confused or that she is a false teacher.

  1. Hi Treena. I agree with you that this situation leaves a bad taste in one's mouth, but in the light of what has followed, for me the unsavoury element is more from Miss Virtue than Mr Chavez.
I am nonplussed by Chavez' tactics on behalf of Jacob Prasch and his blind devotion to him despite his heresies, misrepresentations of himself and others and general ungodly behaviour.
That said, he has produced a few videos which have said some things which needed to be said, eg his exposè on Francis Chan and some of his ones dealing with hypocrisy in the reformed camp. Until this video emerged, I had not heard of Doreen's strange visions and how lucrative they have been for her. I stopped listening to her when she began promoting the false gospel of Calvin, which you accurately define above and which I nearly also fell into after leaving charismania. I admire Mr Peters' stand against the false visions and teachings of mystical Christianity wherever it occurs, but I agree with Chavez that it was remiss of him to fail to research Doreen before appearing on her show and waxing lyrical about her ministry, lending it credibility. If weird visions and the doctrined they present need to be rebuked and corrected in Catholicism and Pentecostalism, then they need to be done so in any camp. It appears that Doreen was getting mileage from her experiential, dubious testimony as recently as seven months ago with no one correcting her, thus influencing many who trust in het "discernment". As she and Peters publicly critique and correct others in error, they should be humble enough to admit that they may need to be corrected themselves at times. I try to stay as open to correction as possible as we can all be deceived by the father of lies if we are not on our guard.
The manner in which Chavez gave the correction may have been unloving in certain respects, but the response of Virtue and het reformed/Lutheran buddies has been reprehensible in my view. While accusing Chavez of slander, she has now said that her vision was most likely false. If so, then in that respect she has been helped, not slandered. Why could she and Peters not have produced a video expressing their opinion on the manner of Chavez' exposè but admitted the areas where he was right? Doreen has taken copyright action against Chavez (which I do not think scripture permits us to do) This is what people such as Paula White do which makes it hard for people to honestly critique their teachings under the Fair Use guidelines. She next appeared with Chris Rosebrough on one of his shows which was clearly meant to whitewash her regarding this situation as mention was immediately made of her errors when she was a new convert, including het vision of Christ. She only pulled that testimony from public view and began describing it as possibly demonic since Chavez' exposè. Rosebrough lent her his credibility and minimised her errors in the same manner he condemns Michael Brown for doing similar spin jobs re Bill Johnson and Jennifer Le Claire.
My opinion on this grievous matter is that Doreen Virtue is behaving like a false Christian who is doing whatever it takes to "protect het brand". I agree with you that she should not be in any kind of ministry so soon after her (possibly false) conversion and that she, like others supporting her publicly, is caught up in the false gospel of the murderous John Calvin. For all his valid critiques of Charismania, Rosebrough teaches infant baptism, baptismal regeneration, no free will on man's part to repent and believe etc ie. a false gospel. He also condemns people who attack him for his use of their videos (eg. Furtick) as Doreen has done towards Chavez.
My hope is that all of these people, including Chavez, will see where they are in error and repent. My best to you, Mike

  2. Hi again, I had to edit my above comment. I meant to include
    (a) I myself had a vision of Christ while a new convert which I had to recognise was false and tell others this who had possibly believed it;
    (b) My conclusion included the statement that this kind of public warring between people who appear to represent Christianity does no service to the cause of the gospel and is saddening and dispiriting to believers such as myself.
My best to you as always Treena, Mike

  3. I couldn't have put it any better Mike - thank you. The way that Chavez finds such relish in tearing people apart is extremely distasteful. However, he has made some valid points. I did go back and revise this post when more details emerged. I think that Justin Peters and Chris Rosebrough were very unwise in their association with Doreen with no checks whatsoever! My other question is - Why haven't Doreen's (albeit false Calvinist) church elders advised her properly? Also we have heard nothing at all from Doreen's husband who should have taken the lead. After conversion, some Christians erroneously think they have an automatic right to a public "ministry".
    God bless.

  4. Well said.
Apologies for the typos. I need to double check!
Laura of END TIME APOSTASY (who is mourning the sudden loss of her sister) has put up an interesting video dealing with this issue and has exposed more hypocrisy from Chris Rosebrough and more questionable connections re Ms. Virtue.
I put a link to this page in my comment under it. Cheers, Mike

  6. That video has been taken down. My guess is that Doreen and her reformed hitmen have struck again. I'm sure there is an old saying along the lines of "If you can't take criticism, then don't dish it out". All very revealing. Some people are not as sweet and congenial on the inside as they apoear to be on their exterior. My best to you, Mike

  7. That is disappointing. Hopefully some saw it before it was taken down.

  8. Yes. Some of it has been preserved on a new video made by the woman who heads up the Understand the Times YT channel. I left comments warning her of what may likely occur.
She had a good video recently dealing with Lordship Salvation and has good articles on Calvinism on her website. My best, Mike

  9. Thank you Mike. It is very telling that the Calvinists are determined to suppress this information. I didn't know that MacArthur had denied the blood of Jesus prior to watching the video. Showing their true colours I think.
    God bless.

  11. Speaking of heretics, there is a bus load of NAR ones doing an online healing conference. Any queries regarding where Francis Chan is at are answered by his inclusion with these charismaniacs. It sounds very toxic. So few escape this AntiChrist counterfeit. I am thankful that you and I and a few others I know have been delivered from it. And yes, it takes years to get it out if one's system!

  12. "For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matthew 7:14. After saying this, Jesus went on to warn about false prophets. It is a total minefield out there Mike.
    God bless.

  13. END TIME APOSTASY on YT also has videos on MacArthur's heresies. I believe he denies that Christ carried His blood into the Heavenly tabernacle, claiming it is figurative. This contradicts the letter to the Hebrews. You have no doubt also heard that he teaches one can take the Mark and be forgiven, another contradiction of clear scripture. His argument is there is only one unforgivable sin. Well, the topic did not come up until AD90+ on Patmos, so the completed canon cites another unpardonable sin, which can only be committed in a particular era. His reformed cronies back him up blindly in the same way folloeers of cult leaders (eg. Joseph Smith, Ellen White, Kenneth Copeland) support them regardless of what scripture states.
Doreen is likewise getting support from the reformed leaders, who it seems are as loyal as Scientologists to each other. I recently heard Addie Miller of Discerning the Drift state that Calvinists always support one another. How fatal to offer such loyalty and devotion to any one but Christ. My best, Mike

  14. They sound like the Freemasons!
I will give some time to studying MacArthur's errors further. I wrote about his "mark of the beast" heresy some time ago, but I didn't know much more than that.
    God bless.

  15. The irony of you trying to point out false teachers, yet you go against the biblical fact of once saved, always saved (for those who are born again)? So many who don't believe OSAS always misinterpret the verses they use to supposedly prove their point. Many of them use Hebrews 10:26-31, when Paul was writing that to UNbelieving, UNregenerated Jews who went back to the law after hearing about what Jesus did. For THEM there is no sacrifice left, for they seek salvation in the law, where there is no salvation. They were never saved to begin with. Paul writes to the Ephesians (chapter 4, verse 30) that they are SEALED unto the day of redemption (rapture), not sealed until they somehow "lose" their salvation. 🤣 One cannot be UNborn again. So many verses I can bring up but I'll have to log into my PC later to show you my OSAS post. In Ephesians 1:4-14, he explains how those who are born again were known by God in eternity, before the world was made. Do you think God would make some born of His Holy Spirit and yet then take it back somehow, even though He knew they'd lose it? That is ridiculous. God does not have abortions. It is disgusting to think people believe that He would. Now we read in Jude 1:24, that God keeps us from falling, and presents is faultless before the presence of His Glory. KEEPS US FROM FALLING. That means Once saved, always saved. What do you think ETERNAL LIFE is all about? Eternity is outside of time, and we who are born again have Eternal Life, therefore we have Life without time -> ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED. ☺️

Rethink your stance on this issue. You've been deceived (as have many others)

  16. The OSAS teaching was not taught by the early church Steve. There are many scriptures that warn believers about falling away from the faith. This is my concern during the great tribulation.. "..many will fall away (apostatize)". (Matthew 24:10). You cannot fall away from something you have never belonged to. The OSAS teaching gives Christians a false sense of security.

  17. So you are supporting Doreen Virtue? yet lets let the true facts speak for themselves:

    1) She has three different salvation testimonies spanning 4 years.

    2) Hidie Baker and Beth Moore both claim similar expierences in different ways yet people are quick to attack them but Doreen is Ok for it?

    3) Her description of the Jesus she saw does not come close to the risen Christ that either the Apostles saw after his death or that of Christ in revelation< If it aint biblical it needs questioned.

    4) She has not removed the vision from her book. Now she claims its publishing related but she as the Author has the rights to the book and priniting.

    5) Doreen still takes royalties from her new age books and cards and other things that she get royalties on and keeps them.

    6) She is saved by her last testimony account for 2 years so she is forbidden in that aspect alone to be in bible college let alone a teacher.

    7) she is a false teacher because she teaches both men and women.

    8) the college she goes too that is in my back yard basically is also one that plays hillsong and bethel music and believes in some light NAR things

so should we be defending Doreen no we should be calling for her to fall in line with scripture

  18. I certainly do not support Doreen Virtue. I thought that I had made that clear in the post?
