MIKE BREEN 3DM PLAYING GOD: HOW TO REJECT SOMEONE AND TELL THEM IT IS GOD'S WILL!!!

3DM PLAYING GOD WITH PEOPLES LIVES:

"What to do if someone is hurt because they weren't 'picked' for your huddle?"
http://weare3dm.com/mikebreen/we-are-3dm/what-do-you-do-if-someone-is-hurt-because-they-werent-picked-for-your-huddle/

I have just been sent this disgusting video by a friend of mine. I found it so astonishing that I had to publish it. By the way, according to 3DM, not every Christian is worthy to be discipled, only the"person of peace" specially chosen by the leader under the so called inspiration of "God" (at least their god)!  Sickening really.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..... (Matthew 28/19)

Count yourself greatly blessed if you have NOT been "picked" to join a 3DM Huddle.  The Lord is very likely protecting you.

Mike Villar has written an excellent analysis below:

3dm Director of Coaching Admits to Causing Division – Part 1

The following is a link that shows Eric Pfeiffer, the Director of Coaching from 3dm, explain how to handle the hurt feelings that are a common occurrence when people aren't chosen for a Huddle in 3dm churches.

http://weare3dm.com/mikebreen/we-are-3dm/what-do-you-do-if-someone-is-hurt-because-they-werent-picked-for-your-huddle/

If you closely listen to the video, you will begin to understand why 3dm is careening down the path of the Shepherdship Movement of the 1980s, if it isn't already there.

First, Mr. Pfeiffer admits that lots of people have their feelings hurt or get “disgruntled” by not being chosen for a Huddle because, according to him, it is a “common occurrence.” He admits that no one likes to be left out. Thus, it is an open acknowledgment that the methodology of 3dm causes division within the body.

Mr. Pfeiffer says first to let the person know that the decision isn't personal and to let them know the process you went through as a “leader.” Tell them that you went to the Lord and spent a good amount of time with Him discovering who He wants to be in your Huddle and not who you wanted. Another way of saying this is that God didn't choose you, so blame Him.

Then Mr. Pfeiffer goes on to what I think is at the heart of the problem for 3dm. He suggests that you might let the hurt or disgruntled person in on the “Person of Peace lens” that you use to pick a Huddle. He starts by saying that this requires “some measure of discretion.” He doesn't say why it requires discretion, but I understand it to mean that he is letting a non-initiated person in on some of the 3dm language, concepts, and methods.

Here's the most unbelievable thing that is said by Mr. Pfeiffer: He says to tell the hurt or disgruntled person what it is that he is looking for in people to choose for a Huddle. What is that you might ask?
Well, Mr. Pfeiffer says that he's looking for people who have three traits:

They like me
They welcome me, and
They serve me.

He suggests that telling the hurt person might actually solicit a Kairos moment in which they discover that they have NOT been a person of peace to him (the leader). Of course, this analysis flies in the face of his prior statement that he spent time with the Lord to determine who to invite. Instead, he looks at people to see how they treat him as a leader, and those that serve him rise to the top of the Huddle list! Then he will place them in a Huddle and make them accountable to himself!

He goes on to suggest to the hurt that they will be successful, but need to understand it isn't personal and not everyone can be discipled. He suggest that they get some books to read and take the time to demonstrate their openness and willingness to “engage in the process” and to observe their “willingness to trust the Leadership.” Ironically, what he says “isn't personal” is in fact the most personal of decisions. It's based on whether he thinks the hurt person likes him, welcomes him and serves him as a leader! How much more personal can the decision get?

It should be self-evident that a system where the Leaders choose their “disciples” based on whether the potential disciples like the leader, welcome the leader and serve the leader is a recipe for disaster. It would seem to me that the Leader should be the one who is serving, not the other way around.

The result of the selection method is that the Leaders are only choosing those people who are already inclined to accept without question the methodology used by 3dm. In short, they are culling from the congregation those people who they feel they can easily “lead” or “manipulate” as the case may be. The person who has hard questions for them or who does not automatically accept what is going on is labeled as a Non-Person of Peace and is left to hopefully experience a Kairos Moment in which he or she realizes that he or she has not been a Person of Peace to the Leader! A “non-selected” person who won't “engage in the process” and who doesn't demonstrate a “willingness to trust the Leadership” is simply relegated to outsider status and will never be selected to become initiated into the language and culture of 3dm and who will never occupy any position of importance in the church.

The system is designed for the leaders and to serve the leaders. It uses terminology that allows a leader to justify decisions by simply saying a person isn't a person of peace, when it really means that a person isn't willing to swallow the 3dm teachings without question. The system focuses on those who are already inclined to accept anything from the leadership. Those who fall in line in the Huddles as Persons of Peace, are promoted within the church. Non-Persons of Peace are simply left behind, while the Persons of Peace can be and are expected to fall in line behind whatever their Leaders tell them is God's will.

  1. Hi, I've heard a lot about 3DM and Mike Breen's ministry. You seem to, obviously, believe him to be a false teacher. Before I got too far into their ministry I'm wondering what your experience is with them and why you feel they are false teachers.

Thank you for any time you can allow.

  2. Where can I start Jason. I have written quite a bit about 3DM on this blog and also on hubpages http://eliora.hubpages.com/hub/HOLY-TRINITY-CHURCH-LEICESTER
I used to attend Holy Trinity in Leicester. Also check out The Schooley Files and read all the comments http://www.schooleyfiles.com/2013/11/mike-breen-and-building-discipling.html
If all that doesn't convince you then I will be very surprised. 3DM is in the church wrecking business. God bless t

  5. Mike what a brilliant piece - I have added it to the main body of the post. God bless you.

  6. Wow, what an interesting assessment of 3DM. I have been invovled with them for 3 years, just finished a learning community, and am going back for the second year for their senior leaders retreat. I don't take what Mike Breen says as gospel without doing the proper vetting. Eat the meat throw away the bones. They are imperfect, fallen people, redeemed by the blood of Jesus doing what they believe God has called them to do. I do not practice nor believe everything they say, but I have never met anyone, author, Bible teacher, popular speaker, who I don't listen to with discernment. And niether should you. What they have done is provide me with some practical tools in teaching the 30 somethings and younger how to follow Jesus. That's what I signed on for......And for that I am grateful.

  7. Michael I completely disagree with you. God hates the mixture doesn't he? We should have the pure water of God's Word without any bones to spit out as you put it. So very many individuals and churches have been hurt by 3DM. We should of course be "critical" in the sense of discerning truth from error. I would strongly advise you to look further into what is being said on this site and on the Schooley Files and to pray about it. God bless you

  8. Mike Breen has just resigned from TOM and, I think, 3DM. Here is a link to his Announcement. After listening to it several times, I still don't really understand the reasons for his resignation. In any event, here is the link:

  10. It appears that The Order of Mission is in a quandary. Their constitution does not address a Senior Guardian stepping aside during his six year tenure. Mike Breen had two years left to serve when he abruptly resigned.

Here's the link to the TOM announcement of their election procedure:

  11. Breen did not even keep to his own Rule of six years, he has been Senior Guardian since he made up the whole silly idea of TOM, since April 2003 in fact - about 12 years. They are trying to create a drama out of it now, rather like immature school boys. Wait for the white smoke out of the chimney with bated breath like they want us to, or ignore their silly game. I say let them get on with it! Sorry Mike but they make me sick.

  12. It has just come to my attention that 3DM has failed as a businessin the USA leaving debts behind and families without jobs.

There are senior members of the Anglican community in the UK looking into what has been going on in this organisation.

  13. Hi there from a UK church

I joined a church a few years ago after moving house, all very friendly and loving and over the last couple of years I have heard words, Up In and Out, missional communities, huddles, and groupd set up with only selected few and others left out. This has cause hurt in the church and subsequently people have left. Everything has been kept vague and not really sure what is going on. There is a big dilution of the Word of God and used in a way that I have never heard it before. It seemed ok at first but something starting to stir in my spirit that there is something very wrong!!! I come from a very strong church background which has grounded me in the Word of God but very unsure about all this 3dm teaching, I have read your information and the warning bells are going up big time but my greatest fear people are accepting it as a new move of God when it clearly is a man made program. I have no idea how we can get it back right except prya that God steps in. I fear we could be seen as the enemy or fox in the camp. Saying that you can clearly see division in the church i.e. us & them and we are family. scary! Yours in our precious Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us! from a child of God.

  14. Thank you Anonymous - I fear that you are going to have problems, and that you may indeed be seen as the enemy if you stand up for the gospel. Have you read the Schooley files? Many more testimonies of 3DM damage to churches on that site also. God bless tx
