PETERS-KOZAR PREMATURE VERDICT ON STEVE LAWSON

Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure—not to put it too severely—to all of you. For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough, so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs. (2 Corinthians 5-11).

The recent Peters–Kozar denunciation of Steve Lawson was issued long before the evidence justified anything resembling a verdict to the point of being irresponsible. They were not grieved as they should have been; rather they relished the chance to show their underlying hostility and hatred towards Lawson. This episode has revealed them for what they are, exposing them as nasty, unforgiving, and unrestrained. They have since moved quickly to erase all record of their vicious remarks.

The suspect post from Protestia: "Lawson briefly appeared as a Conference Speaker along with various women pastors and speakers at the Contending for the Faith Expository Preaching & Teaching Conference, which is presented by the Tennessee Baptist Missionary & Educational Convention (TBMEC), a regional body of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. and was subsequently purged from website."1 Specifically, Lawson was listed as having several workshops on how to prepare a sermon, both on day one and on day three of the event. This generated a spate of protests stating that he is not qualified without anyone even factchecking the source and the information. 

Protestia subsequently published a correction: "We can confirm that the conference organizers advertised Lawson’s participation without his knowledge or consent. They invited him to be a speaker, but before hearing that he intended to decline, there was an internal misunderstanding that led them to assume he would agree. As soon as he found out, he informed them that he would decline the offer, and they promptly removed him from the line-up."2 

The furor began when Justin Peters and Steve Kozar could not wait to stick their knives into Lawson. Their zealous reaction to the suspect news erupted without factchecking the information or thinking about the repercussions of their stinging condemnation of Lawson. These two "discerners" have been left with egg on their faces.. but frankly they could do with a bit of humbling!

Peter's reaction on X: "I was just sent this. Hey, see this is proof Steve Lawson never repented. I wish I could say I was surprised but I'm not."  The post has been hastily deleted.3 

Kozar reposted Peters' post and added: "Steve Lawson, the narcissist, needs to have an audience."

Kozar subsequently posted an update: "I removed my earlier post about Steve Lawson from Justin Peters."4

Comments

Steve Lawson was formally and permanently removed from ministry about eighteen months ago after the elders of Trinity Bible Church of Dallas determined he had engaged in an “inappropriate relationship” with a woman for five years. Following their decision, Lawson resigned from all roles at OnePassion Ministries.5

Various leaders were quick to issue unanimous condemnation and shock reverberated throughout the Reformed camp. Justin Peters wasted no time offering his two pennyworth and weighed in with: "In our camp, you disqualify yourself sexually as a minister, you're done. You can be forgiven, you can be restored to church, but you'll never minister on the pulpit again, ever."

Lawson’s sin was grave indeed and met the biblical threshold for disqualification. Nevertheless, he has complied with every requirement placed on him and he has maintained a low public profile for eighteen months. No one had any reason to doubt his genuine repentance.

Although they have apologised to their readers, Peters and Kozar have failed to apologise to Lawson personally. Assuming that Lawson is a true believer, I wonder how this slander and concealed hatred has affected him personally? (James 4:11; Proverbs 10:18).

"Charismatic "prophets" Mike Signorelli, Joseph Z, Alan DiDio, and others claim they were called to a secret meeting in the middle of nowhere — phones on airplane mode, assumed identities, the works — to be briefed on coming "alien disclosure" and save the church from deception. But what came out of that meeting may be some of the most blasphemous teachings we've ever covered on this channel, including a direct comparison between the Virgin Birth of Christ and fallen angels having relations with women. Justin Peters and Jim Osman join me to expose the secret meeting, dismantle the bad theology behind the Nephilim/alien hybrid claims, address Joseph Z's failed "prophecy" over Joni Lamb, and explain why none of this — biblically, theologically, or even scientifically — holds up. Above is the response from Justin Peters, Jim Osman, and Daniel Long to the recent claim that a “secret meeting” occurred in an Airbnb in Tennessee involving Mike Signorelli, Joseph Z, Alan DiDio, and others. In my assessment, their claim was an attempt at self-aggrandisement and clickbait that happened to gain traction. I agree with Justin Peters that, in their foolishness, charismatic NAR “pastors” often attempt to present themselves as possessing superior spiritual knowledge, in this case, insider knowledge on alleged “alien disclosure”. The accumulated failure of charismatic NAR prophets is sufficient to demonstrate that they are neither credible nor reliable sources of spiritual authority. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. (Romans 16:17-18).

Even so, I found several of the remarks made by Justin Peters, Jim Osman, and Daniel Long disappointing. Both Calvinist and Lutheran traditions hold amillennial beliefs that diverge sharply from the scriptural witness and from the eschatology of the early church. Amillennialism remains confined within an Augustinian Roman‑Catholic inheritance rather than engaging in the whole counsel of God, resulting in an eschatology that is scripturally and historically deficient. (Acts 20:27).

Although I reject DiDio and his associates ' claim of a “secret meeting" it is not impossible that government agencies might share information with certain church leaders. Osman’s categorical assertion that such cooperation would never occur is therefore not especially convincing. One could just as easily ask why Donald Trump includes NAR‑charismatics within his inner circle—an arrangement that many Christians find difficult to make sense of. And if any weight is given to Andy Woods’ testimony, who claims that a government agent approached him in 2024 regarding UFO disclosure.1 

While Peters, Osman, and Long dismiss the prospect of alien disclosure, it is noteworthy that the U.S. Department of War treats the subject with sufficient seriousness to release a growing body of declassified UFO (UAP) documentation.

U.S. Department of War: "In response to President Donald J. Trump’s directive for transparency on U.S. government information regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), the Department of War (DOW), with support from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), is overseeing government wide efforts to expeditiously find, review, identify, declassify and publicly release unresolved UAP-related records and historical documents in the federal government’s possession. This is an unprecedented, historic undertaking that requires coordination between dozens of agencies and the review of tens of millions of records, many existing only on paper, spanning many decades. Given the scope of this task, the Department of War will be releasing new materials on a rolling basis as they are discovered and declassified, with tranches posted every few weeks.."2 

The Gerasene Demoniac discussion

Osman’s treatment of the Gerasene (Gadarene) narrative is methodologically weak. His question—why the demons did not simply relocate to another host elsewhere in Judea to avoid Jesus—is hypothetical. The popular “demon‑slayer” assertion that demons seek human bodies to gratify their own lusts has no textual foundation. Scripture does not provide a behavioural psychology of demons, and responsible exegesis does not fill those silences with speculative constructions. However, Osman’s corrective claim that demons “do not like to be in an embodied form" is inaccurate according to reliable commentaries on Matthew 12:43. The New Testament’s actual data is limited but consistent: demons harm, degrade, and afflict. Their activity is destructive rather than expressive. (Matthew 9:32–34; Mark 3:20–27; 5:9,14–29). Nothing in these passages indicates that demons pursue embodiment to satisfy their own lustful appetites; rather, the pattern is impairment, torment, and attempted destruction.

If Osman intends to correct doctrinal error, the task requires him to remain within the boundaries of what scripture records rather than constructing hypothetical demon behaviour to fill the explanatory gap. This was a weak and poorly reasoned response from someone presenting himself as a pastor, and it reflects a limited grasp of demonology. His inaccuracies and unfounded assertions place him much closer to those he critiques than he seems to realise. The task is to present what is true in order to correct what is false, not to substitute one set of personal opinions for another.     

Bengel's Gnomon: "Matthew 12:43. Ὅταν, κ.τ.λ., when, etc.) Having rebuked and dismissed the interruption of the Pharisees, Jesus pursues those matters which depend upon Matthew 12:30; cf. Study Bible: "The unclean spirit's search for rest indicates its desire for a place to inhabit and exert influence. In the cultural context of the time, spirits were believed to seek embodiment to fulfill their purposes."4

Barnes: "Art thou come hither to torment us? ... - By 'the time' here mentioned is meant the day of judgment. The Bible reveals the doctrine that evil spirits are not now bound as they will be after that day; that they are permitted to tempt and afflict people, but that in the day of judgment they also will be condemned to everlasting punishment with all the wicked, 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6. These spirits seemed to be apprised of that, and were alarmed lest the day that they feared had come. They besought him, therefore, not to send them out of that country, not to consign them then to hell, but to put off the day of their final punishment."5 

Barnes: "Seeking rest, and findeth none - These desolate and dry regions are represented as uncomfortable habitations; so much so, that the dissatisfied spirit, better pleased with a dwelling in the bosoms of people, as affording an opportunity of doing evil, seeks a return there."6  

The Nephilim question

Genesis 6:4 presents the contested identification of the “sons of God”, whether as the Sethite line or as angelic beings whose union with human women produced the Nephilim. The evidence is sparse but adequate to justify inquiry into the involvement of fallen angels. The designation Nephilim—“fallen ones”—identifies them as obscure figures tied to the pre‑flood narrative. 

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. (Genesis 6:4).

And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.” (Numbers 13:33).

The Anakim are identified in Deuteronomy 9:2 and Joshua 11:21–22 as a race of giants, noted for their exceptional size and strength, whose presence in Canaan seriously intimidated the Israelite spies. Their association with the Nephilim suggests a formidable lineage. Archaeological and textual indications place the Anakim in the hill country of Hebron, a strategically significant and fertile region. I am not dogmatic on the matter, but I see no difficulty in understanding the Anakim as literal hybrids rather than merely human“men of renown”. The Old Testament contains sufficient references to the physical disimilarities between the giants and other populations to render this interpretation credible—for example, Goliath (1 Samuel 17:4; 2 Samuel 21:19), his brothers Lahmi, Ishbi‑Benob, Saph, and the six‑fingered giant (1 Chronicles 20:5; 2 Samuel 21:16, 18, 20), as well as Og king of Bashan (Deuteronomy 3:11). Viewed this way, the Old Testament's depiction of Canaan's inhabitants makes the severity of the genocidal conquest commands more intelligible. (Deuteronomy 20:16-17). It also makes sense of Jude 1:6 and the connection with Sodom and Gomorrah and the pre-flood narrative, which is replicated in the days leading up to the Parousia. (Luke 17:26). 

Regarding the argument that when God created everything "after its kind" in Genesis 1:25. This is a descriptive narrative of creation, not a violation of it. The existence of a divine design does not preclude transgression of that design.

The appeal to Matthew 22:30 ("angels do not marry nor are given in marriage”) does not resolve the question of Genesis 6, because the two passages address different categories and different contexts.

Contextual Scope of Matthew 22:30 > Jesus’ statement concerns the marital status of resurrected humans and uses angels as a comparative model. The passage is not intended as an ontological description of angelic capacities but as a functional description of their heavenly mode of existence.

Heavenly Angels vs Fallen Angels > Matthew 22:30 refers specifically to angels “in heaven”. Genesis 6 and Jude 6 describe angels who “did not keep their own domain”. The texts therefore concern different angelic states, and conclusions drawn from one cannot be automatically transferred to the other.

Marriage vs Procreation > The argument assumes that the inability to marry entails the inability to procreate. This is a category error. The text states that angels do not marry; it does not state that they lack the capacity to assume physical form capable of biological interaction.

Embodiment in the Old Testament > Multiple Old Testament narratives depict angels taking embodied form indistinguishable from human males. (Genesis 18–19). These accounts demonstrate that angels can assume physicality with functional human characteristics.

Second Temple Interpretation > Jewish literature of the Second Temple period—including 1 Enoch, Jubilees, Philo, and Josephus—consistently interpreted Genesis 6 as referring to angelic beings. This indicates that Matthew 22:30 was not understood as contradicting that reading.

Jude 6–7 and Boundary Violation > Jude links the sin of the angels to Sodom’s pursuit of “strange flesh”, suggesting a transgression involving sexual boundaries. This intertextual connection supports the reading that Genesis 6 involves an illicit crossing of created categories

Justin Peters and his colleagues' abrupt dismissal of the substantial body of material concerning Nephilim hybrids simply exposes their predisposition to reject anything that even marginally challenges their established worldview. I do, of course, agree that none of this is vaguely relevant to the incarnation of Jesus Christ.

In conclusion, scripture indicates that the closing phase of this age will involve spiritual deception on a scale without precedent. The exact form this deception will take is not disclosed, but it would be unwarranted to dismiss unusual claims outright. The Antichrist will present a counterfeit resurrection, and God Himself will send a strong delusion. Because biblical prophecy is interpreted literally throughout scripture, Revelation should not be treated as an exception. Within that eschatological framework, the range of possible end‑time manifestations should not be reduced or denied through allegorisation. Jesus issued a specific warning so that believers would not be caught off guard: “See, I have told you beforehand.” (Matthew 24:25).

The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12).

Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed. It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people, and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666. (Revelation 13:11-18).

DANIEL LONG AND STEVE KOZAR: HERESY HUNTERS

Daniel Long and Steve Kozar have undertaken substantial historical research on the early Pentecostal movement, particularly in their examinations of figures like John Alexander Dowie, Frank W Sanford, Charles Fox Parham and John G Lake. Their research is genuinely useful, and I hope their videos offer needed clarity to sincere believers who are unknowingly drawn into the NAR. Their work also functions as an early warning system for those who haven’t yet been pulled into charismania. 

Steve Kozar: "I want people to trust me, but more importantly, I want people to trust the content that I am giving them."

Kozar's content is accurate as far as it goes, BUT his theology is stunted, and it is incumbent that believers should test the spirits rather than blindly trust any teacher or influencer. (1 John 4:1; Acts 17:11).

While no one with a morsel of spiritual discernment would argue that the NAR is not corrupt at its foundations, Long and Kozar overlook several significant issues. They consistently elevate Mike Winger for exposing “cover‑up culture” and calling out obvious false prophets. Yes—Winger has exposed wolves like Benny Hinn, Shawn Bolz, Todd White, and Che Ahn. But at the same time it is troubling that he has publicly described Bill Johnson as “saved", “sincere” and “someone he would fellowship with.” He has also claimed that Todd White is “saved". Even after reviewing roughly sixty hours of White’s material, Winger claimed he did not see a false gospel. Winger’s underlying premise—that false prophets can be restored to ministry, and that institutions like Bethel can be reformed—is completely alien to my reading of Scripture. False prophets are predators (wolves), not candidates for restoration. Scripture instructs us to mark and avoid them, not rehabilitate them. (Romans 16:17–18).

Winger's exposure of cult leader Steven Koko, the so-called "predator of Panama", involved close collaboration with hypercharismatic false teacher Torben Sondergaard, founder of The Last Reformation.1 Sondergaard is a "thus saith the Lord" leg puller and demon slayer who hijacks people into false repentance. No bona fide Christian "influencer" should collaborate with false teachers like Sondergaard > the means do not justify the ends.

Mike Winger throws up one red flag after another!

Winger appears unable to recognise the ecumenical drift or the overtly worldly tone of the Bless God Summit and TPUSA. At the Summit, he shared a platform with Ruslan, Gavin Ortland, Wes Huff, Sean McDowell, and Roman Catholic activist Lila Rose, among other questionable teachers who are effectively reintroducing elements of the Galatian error. In addition, Ortland, Huff, McDowell, Ruslan and others have expressed sympathy toward Kirk Cameron’s heretical annihilationist position. Cameron recently convened Ortland, Dan Paterson, Chris Date and Paul Copan for ‘Hellgate’, a two‑and‑a‑half‑hour discussion centred on the nature and duration of hell.2 

Although he is praised for exposing false teachers, Winger aligns himself with individuals who are actively eroding the faith — and his own involvement contributes to that erosion.

Winger is part of a loose, self-reinforcing ecosystem of Christian YouTubers who:

• appear on each other’s channels

• endorse one another’s content

• share platforms at conferences and livestreams

• cross‑promote each other’s books, interviews, and debates

• shape what becomes “acceptable” or “mainstream” in online Christian discourse

This creates a de facto establishment — not official, but influential.

Michael Grant refers to this as "one big swamp that needs to get drained".3

The other person Kozar praised in this video is Justin Peters. Like Long and Kozar, Peters is very accurate in his exposure of NAR false prophets. However, my huge concern is that he is a Calvinist. Limited atonement (TULIP) is unsupported by scripture and poses a spiritual danger on par with the NAR. It undermines the heart of the gospel by redefining soteriology itself. Those who promote Calvinism will be held to account for how they excluded vast numbers of people by insisting that Christ’s saving work was never intended for all who believe, but only for an exclusive elect.

Lutheran theology also retains serious doctrinal errors with profound implications for soteriology. The absence of the full counsel of God is evident in three key areas: baptismal regeneration, consubstantiation, and eschatology. (Acts 20:27). These positions remain rooted in Roman Catholic tradition rather than biblical authority. Ultimately, no defence will stand for those promoting these deviations from scripture. (Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10; James 3:1).

Justin Peters Contradicts Himself on Repentance - Can We Repent or Not? - Calvinism EXPOSED -

The above video contains clips of Justin Peters' perplexing statements about repentance.

On the one hand, Peters claims, "repentance is a work, but it is not our work", while on the other hand, he pleads with non-Christians to "repent and place your trust in Christ". 

Peters: "In order to be saved, we would turn around and tell people they had to repent, which seemed to me to be doing a work...

I thought that repentance was something that I did, I thought it was something that I had to gen up within myself; I had to will myself to turn from certain sins.. 

The fundamental truth and teaching from scripture is that we can't repent on our own.

I want you to be truly broken over your sin, truly broken. I want you to cast yourself onto the mercies of Christ.

If you come to Him grieving over your sin because you understand that your sin grieves God and you understand the weight of the reproach that you have brought upon Christ, and the weight of how many people you have led astray in the name of Christ. If that bears heavy on you, and I hope and pray that it does, come to Christ empty-handed.. He will save you.

Turn from sin and place your faith in Christ.."

The horror of Reformed (Calvinist) theology is the teaching that God arbitrarily puts His mercy on very few people (the elect), and that the vast majority of humanity cannot be saved because they are not granted repentance. This false doctrine is a direct attack on the very nature of God and the gospel.

Peters' strained understanding is that repentance qualifies as a work: "you have to do something". In the scriptures, "work" (ἔργον) refers to action. (Romans 3:27-28; Galatians 2:16; 2 Timothy 1:9). "ἔργον comes from a primary ergo; toil; by implication, an act."1 The verb "repentance" μετανοέω is to change one's mind or purpose. A contrast between work and faith is emphasised in the scriptures. (Romans 4:1-3). Romans 4:5 debunks the false assumption that faith is a work: And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.. Calvinism piles error upon error and contradicts the scriptures by teaching that regeneration precedes faith. (Acts 16:31).

"Strong’s Greek 3340 describes the decisive, Spirit-wrought turning of heart and mind that re-orients a person from sin to God. Throughout the New Testament it is never presented as mere remorse but as a wholehearted response to divine truth that issues in faith, obedience, and fruit worthy of repentance."2 

The scriptures are very straightforward and do not include the convoluted teachings of Calvinism. The Calvinist view of total inability, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace, and perseverance of the saints (TULIP) is presented in a way that appears wise and intellectual, but in actuality is a false ideology based on Augustinian soteriology that is incompatible with the true gospel of Jesus Christ. (Colossians 2:23). Augustine was deeply influenced by his early encounters with Stoicism, Neoplatanism, and Manichaeism. While he initially opposed deterministic ideology, Augustine incorporated elements of these philosophies into his debates with the Pelagians. Predestination and predeterminism became foundational for Augustine's theological development, and his influence on John Calvin (1509-1565) is beyond doubt. Calvin incorporated Augustinian philosophical ideas into his version of soteriology and divine providence. This has resulted in a huge swathe of the church being obliged to perform scriptural acrobatics that many find totally bewildering. Calvinism muddies the waters and puts a stumbling block in the way of those seeking salvation. 

Simply put, the scriptures command all people everywhere to repent.

 

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.. (Acts 17:30).

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.. (Acts 3:19).

This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4).

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. (2 Peter 3:9).

Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? (Ezekiel 18:23).

For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD; so turn, and live." (Ezekiel 18:32 cf. Job 36:9-12; Proverbs 1:23-33; Isaiah 1:19-20; Jeremiah 7:23-24; Deuteronomy 30:15-20; Ezekiel 18:30-32).

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16).

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people.. (Titus 2:11).

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! (Matthew 23:37).

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. (Revelation 22:17).

He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:2).

God is not absent from repentance; the Holy Spirit convicts unbelievers of sin.

And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment" (John 16:8 cf. Acts 2:37).

God does not compel anyone to repent. People can resist the Holy Spirit and refuse to repent. This refusal is due to sin itself i.e. pride, stubbornness, and love for sin, which blinds individuals to the truth and grace offered by God. ..and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 cf.

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. 

Calvinism distorts the basic lexical meaning of Greek words. The verb "grant" δίδωμι (to give in various senses).3 Alternative words are confer or bestow. Irresistible grace is not taught in the scriptures; on the contrary, people can resist the Holy Spirit. (Acts 6:1.0; 7:51-55). When a knighthood is conferred upon someone by the king, they must be willing to accept it. In other words, when God grants or confers repentance upon a person, they must be willing to receive it. (2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:4; Ezekiel 18:23). God does not override our free will. No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5).

WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING: FALSE PROPHETS AND BIBLE TEACHERS IN THE LAST DAYS: JUSTIN PETERS: SEXUAL SIN IS NEVER FULLY BLOTTED OUT - REALLY?

REVELATION TV: SPAIN ~ HOWARD CONDER'S WHITE ELEPHANT

It has recently come to my attention that Revelation TV no longer uses its Spanish-based studio for its RMornings programme. The new daily format of RMornings is now broadcast from Revelation TV's London studio. Howard and Leslie Conder recently announced that Nikki Mills and Yemi Balogun turned down an opportunity to move back to the London studio, and due to Spanish law, they had to be made redundant. So far, viewer concerns and queries about the purpose-built office studio complex in Southern Spain funded by the donations of its viewers have been met with a wall of silence.

It became apparent last February on The Late Show that RTV's Spanish operation was running into difficulties and was not all they hoped it would be. During this programme, it emerged that the main RTV office had relocated to the UK due to staffing problems, issues with Brexit, COVID-19, and technical problems. Gordon Pettie: "We're struggling a little bit.. We've got this fantastic building that the Lord has given us. We acknowledge quite clearly that it was God directed to do that, but now we're saying, 'What really is the purpose of that building?'.. we are beginning to see an increase of programmes in the UK and we have got a dilemma.." (28:00 mark) Pettie made these remarks with a straight face, apparently unwilling to consider the possibility that the Lord had not spoken to Conder about starting Revelation TV.  Even in the face of abject failure, their delusion continues without a thought for those who gave sacrificially to enable the purchase of the Spanish white elephant on the strength of Conder's alleged "vision". Various suggestions were made by viewers, including selling the building in Spain and fundraising for a new London studio! It now appears that the ambitious Spanish project relentlessly touted by RTV presenters was a complete waste of everyone's time, money, and effort. Essentially RTV is back to square one and needs to finance a new London studio! 

Conder: "The prophecies that I got in the beginning.. were so encouraging that gave me a reason for actually going ahead with starting a Christian channel here in the UK.."  

The alleged prophecies that Conder received during the 1990s were from false NAR "Apostles" and "Prophets".

In 1994 Conder received a "prophecy" from proven false NAR "Apostle" Jonathan David at an ecumenical meeting!

NAR "Prophet" Sharon Stone prophesied over Conder in 1999. This is where Conder got the ridiculous idea that he was going to be a modern-day “Elijah”. Ironically, Elijah came against the prophets of Baal, he was not partners with them! (Ephesians 5:7).

NAR "Apostle" Noel Woodroffe's prophecy in 1994 mentions Howard Conder re: God starting Christian TV in the UK.

No doubt the above "prophecies" played into Conder's narcissism during the 1990s and beyond. However, many believers are now becoming more aware that the New Apostolic Reformation is a fake movement consisting of false "Apostles" and "Prophets". 

Pettie: "When we wrote the book 'Broadcasting Christ' we said in it 'Howard, you have had more prophecies that its right, back in 2009/10, to go to Spain and to start the work in Spain.' And it's trying to balance that up with what we can see with our eyes about the situation with Brexit and all the things that are happening at this moment of time.."  

 

Some Background

In 2008 RTV moved its head office to Spain. In 2012 RTV had a permanent television studio base in Spain, but these facilities were deemed unfit for purpose. In 2014 Conder had the "vision" for the Spanish building project. From around early 2015, fundraising commenced for the purchase of land and the building of a new purpose-built television studio complex for the channel in Spain. Following an intense and prolonged period of fundraising, the new Revelation TV studio's "Grand Opening" took place from Friday 21st to Monday 24th of April 2023.1 The new studio 'The Revelation International Centre' was hailed as "A future for the next generation".2 

Howard Conder has repeatedly attacked his detractors for their "false accusations", yet there have been many genuine concerns that RTV has refused to acknowledge. RTV's early compromise with Roman Catholicism and Word-Faith prosperity teachers such as Benny Hinn, Jesse Duplantis, John Hagee, Joyce Meyer, hyper-grace teacher Joseph Prince, ecumenist Hugh Osgood, the 700 Club, and Seventh Day Adventists etc. was not compatible with a man allegedly called by God. Many discerning Christians therefore rejected Conder's claims on the basis that RTV was no better than apostate channels such as Daystar, God TV, and TBN. 

  

Rob Thomas 'Watchman4Wales' May 2015: "It has long been noted that Revelation TV is a very heavily compromised channel, having no qualms about broadcasting the programmes of some of the most grievous wolves in sheep's clothing on the face of the planet. I wrote myself to Revelation TV some while ago concerning their broadcasting of false teachers, an example at that time being their airing of the notorious charlatan Benny Hinn's 'This Is Your Day.' (I had no response whatsoever). Their current schedule includes the likes of Jesse Duplantis and Joyce Meyer, who similarly present "another Jesus... another spirit... another gospel." (2 Corinthians 11:4). It is quite obvious that the channel has learned nothing about unacceptable compromise since Jacob Prasch's departure back in 2011, and the Justin Peters incident the previous year when a live interview with him was taken off air when he dared to "name and shame." They have continued relentlessly along their spiritually reckless way, with wilful disregard as to how their collusion with deadly deceivers brings not only disgrace to the Body of Christ but completely undermines the preaching of the True Gospel, exposing millions of viewers to spiritual mauling and mutilation by hungry wolves who feed off the flock!"3

These days, RTV focuses mainly on political issues, inane chat shows, and regular Bible studies with ecumenist Tim Vince, Anglican John Campbell, and egalitarian Derek Walker (Oxford Bible Church). 

Realistically Conder cannot keep up the delusion that God called him to start Revelation TV. The "God spoke to me" card is wearing very thin with many believers these days!

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1).

According to Sam Storms, a false teacher must deny some foundational truth. He went on to mention some "secondary issues" that he does not identify as false teaching i.e. "differences in eschatology, the mode of baptism, or the role of women in ministry". Storms parameters for false teachers are so broad that he does not identify Benny Hinn as a false teacher despite irrefutable evidence of Hinn's false prophesies, manipulative tactics, prosperity teaching etc. Storms claimed that he has never heard Hinn deny a foundational truth, and on that basis he accepts him as a believer "as far as I can tell". Justin Peters interjected with Hinn's heretical teaching on the nine-member godhead. Despite this Storms was still reluctant to call Hinn out as a false teacher. (22:23 mark) 

Storm's definition of a false teacher is scripturally inaccurate and shortsighted. If it were a black and white issue we would easily identify false teachers and we would not need discernment. (1 Corinthians 12:10). The challenging nature of discernment is to recognize that "lesser errors" bleed into the very gospel itself, and primary doctrines are indirectly attacked and diminished by so-called "secondary issues". (1 Corinthians 5:6). All false teaching is damaging and has repercussions on the gospel itself. For instance, irresistible grace (TULIP)) has massive implications for soteriology; the doctrine of baptismal regeneration misrepresents salvation; false eschatology such as dominionism and pretribulationism will have catastrophic consequences for those who have been mistaught. Eschatological error is likely to lead to catastrophic loss of confidence in Jesus Christ when severe persecution arises at the end of the age. (Matthew 24:10,21). Jesus' command to pay careful attention counters the sloppy attitude of many charismatics to the word of God. (Mark 4:24; Acts 17:11; Proverbs 19:27).

Storms noted that there are only eleven instances of the term "false prophet" in the New Testament and in each instance, the term always applies to non-believers. He neglected to mention that other terms and warnings also identify false teachers. For instance wolves, Acts 20:29; deceivers 2 John 1:7; evildoers and impostors 2 Timothy 3:13 etc. Storms objection that we have no business calling out false teachers to any significant degree because "we do not know their heart" is sentimental nonsense! The scriptures warn that there will be many false teachers/prophets at the end of the age and we are negligent if we do not take this warning seriously. (Matthew 24:5-11; Acts 20:29). The basis on which we are instructed to judge false teachers is to identify their fruit i.e. teaching and lifestyle. (1 Timothy 4:16). Since the scriptures condemn false teachers, we cannot doubt that they are on a calamitous course unless they repent. (2 Peter 2:17). The ultimate fate of false teachers is a matter for the Lord who knows the heart. (Acts 15:8). While we do not want to pick up on every little detail, we are required to be zealous regarding doctrine in order to keep the church pure and to purge evil from amongst ourselves. (1 Corinthians 5:13 cf. Deuteronomy 17:17). The lackadaisical attitude of many charismatics as evidenced by Storms, Brown and other leaders is responsible for the degenerate state of many congregations within that movement.  

The tragic irony is that when Storms had finished rebuking those of us who practice discernment, he went on to give a glowing report of Mike Bickle! (54:00 mark)

Justin Peters: "I believe that Mike Bickle has lied about a number of things, in fact, not the least of which he claims to have been to heaven at least twice. I don't believe that. I don't believe he has been to heaven." 

Storm's: You might not believe it, but how do you know he is lying?  I believe he has..  Everything you have said about Benny Hinn without knowing the man personally, Mike Bickle is probably my best friend in this world. I was in a small group with him and his wife for seven years, on his staff as his Senior Associate, on his staff at IHOP for an additional four years, eleven years. I know this man to the depth of his soul. I can't think of a more biblically orthodox, humble, Christ-exalting individual who lives an incredibly simple lifestyle.. If I hear people say that Mike Bickle is a false teacher it angers me.. because I know the individual. We are not talking about just watching ministry, I know the man personally and he is not NAR as has been claimed by so many..  the stories have been empirically verified.. Bob Jones had a remarkable gift.."

The false assumption that you have to know someone personally in order to critique their teaching is patently false. Clearly, it failed in this instance! Bickle's dubious association and experiences with false prophet Bob Jones has been widely exposed elsewhere. It is impossible to know what these two shady individuals cooked up between themselves, and in light of recent events, we should not believe any detail of Bickle's "prophetic" history. A group of former IHOPKC leaders known as "the Advocate Group" claim that Mike Bickle has been engaged in predatory sexual behavior and pathological misconduct spanning five decades.1 The Bickle debacle leaves Storms credibility and spiritual discernment in tatters!

As graphically demonstrated by Storms, we cannot base our approval for teachers on friendship, personal liking, or any other criteria; our approval must always be based on fruit. If Brown and Storms don't have the time or the inclination to research people like Sid Roth, Mike Bickle, Benny Hinn, Todd White etc. then they are negligent and have no business in the ministry. The mandate for shepherds is to guard the flock, not to support an old boy network! Such appalling negligence is an insult to the Lord and breaks the first commandment. (Mark 12:30 cf. Deuteronomy 6:5).

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. (Acts 20:28). 

NAR Charismatics have not only brought the gospel into disrepute, in many cases they have caused untold damage and ruin to the body of Christ. (2 Peter 2:2). Michael Brown's affinity for Sid Roth is based on the false foundation of personal friendship of almost forty years. Brown absolutely views Sid Roth as a brother and he pleads ignorance regarding his ungodly antics. He claims that he doesn't know because he has only seen "snippets" of Roth's programs. (1:47 mark) Apparently Brown is too busy providing fresh victims for the wolves "Jewish evangelism" that he doesn't have time to test the spirits and guard the flock! (1 John 4:1; Matthew 28:19). As a leader and teacher it is Brown's responsibility to be fully conversant with the antics of the ministries and teachers he defends. God will hold leaders like Brown and Storms accountable for the flock! (Ezekiel 34:4-10).

On the basis of Titus 10:1-14  Brown and Storms are disqualified as leaders: 

    

He must hold firmly to the faithful word as it was taught, so that he can encourage others by sound teaching and refute those who contradict it. For many are rebellious and full of empty talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced.. Therefore rebuke them sternly, so that they will be sound in the faith and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of men who have rejected the truth. (Titus 10:9).

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. (John 10:11-13).

Woe to my worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! Let his arm be wholly withered, his right eye utterly blinded!” (Zechariah 11:17; cf Jeremiah 23:1). 

Pulpit Commentary: "Verse 17. - Woe to the idol shepherd! rather, woe to the worthless shepherd! literally, shepherd of vanity, or nothingness, as Job 13:4, "physicians of no value." The LXX., recognizing that no special shepherd is signified, renders, Ω οἱ ποιμαίνοντες τὰ μάταια, "Alas for those who tend vanities!" St. Jerome, expounding the verse of antichrist, "O pastor, et idolum!" That leaveth the flock. Thus Christ speaks of the hireling (John 10:12). The sword shall be upon his arm, etc. The punishment denounced is in accordance with the neglect of the shepherd's duties. The sword represents the instrument of punishment, whatever it he; the right eye, the severity of the retribution (1 Samuel 11:2). The arm that ought to have defended the flock shall be withered up as by catalepsy; the eye that should have watched for their safety shall be blinded. This is the judgment on the foolish shepherd."2

NAR charismatics and other false teachers should continue to be challenged and their deceptions exposed as commanded in the scriptures. (Ephesians 5:11). Reformed cessationists are not in the clear by any means. Calvinism has massive implications for soteriology and spiritual gifts. Peters and Osman's approval of Martin Luther is very telling and reveals that they are equally remiss. JUSTIN PETERS: SEXUAL SIN IS NEVER FULLY BLOTTED OUT - REALLY?

Justin Peters: "My bible says that sexual sin leaves a wound and the reproach will never be fully blotted out. My bible says that sexual sin is sin that is committed inside the body, not outside the body. There is something especially pernicious and especially injurious about sexual sin that is not true of other sin.. Just because we have been forgiven judicially, does not automatically remove the ugly consequences of that sin, and there is something unique about sexual sin that leaves a wound, it leaves a scar because it is sin that is committed inside the body, not outside the body. The Bible does not 'whisper' about sexual sin.."  (51:00 mark) 

The passage Justin Peters refers to is 1 Corinthians 6 below:

"All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. “Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”—and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (1 Corinthians 6:12-20). But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. (1 Corinthians 6:12-21).

Although I agree with much of what Justin Peters says in this video, and I certainly have nothing but contempt for JD Greear and Ed Litton, it would be tragic if those who have been cleansed from their sin by the blood of Jesus were to believe that their previous sexual sin was not fully blotted out! Where does it say this in the Bible? Justin Peters' sweeping statement applies to a great many believers and it would be tragic if any believer, let alone a great number of believers, were to swallow the lie that their sexual sin was not fully blotted out. Paul referred to himself as "the worst of sinners" ~ he was a murderer and all his sins were blotted out. (1 Timothy 1:16). Ironically Justin Peters' opinion runs counterproductive to his aim of exposing false teachers. His false supposition has the potential to ruin the peace of many believers and is injurious to the very gospel itself! (Proverbs 30:6). Isn't this precisely how false doctrine gains a foothold? 

The Bible teaches that when someone repents of their sin and believes the gospel, ALL their sins are blotted out, including sexual sin. Sexual sin does differ from other sins in that it occurs inside the body. However, it is critical to note that Jesus has blotted out ALL our sins completely.

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.. (Acts 3:19 cf. Isaiah 43:25,44:22; Psalm 51:1,9).

..how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. (Hebrews 9:14).

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all (every) sin.   

Barnes: "The general meaning is plain, that in regard to any and every sin of which we may be conscious, there is efficacy in that blood to remove it, and to make us wholly pure. There is no stain made by sin so deep that the blood of Christ cannot take it entirely away from the soul."

Clarke: "The blood of Jesus Christ — The meritorious efficacy of his passion and death has purged our consciences from dead works, and cleanseth us, καθαριζειημας, continues to cleanse us, i.e., to keep clean what it has made clean, (for it requires the same merit and energy to preserve holiness in the soul of man, as to produce it,) or, as several MSS. and some versions read, καθαριει and καθαρισει, will cleanse; speaking of those who are already justified, and are expecting full redemption in his blood.
And being cleansed from all sin is what every believer should look for, what he has a right to expect, and what he must have in this life, in order to be prepared to meet his God. Christ is not a partial Saviour, he saves to the uttermost, and he cleanses from ALL sin." 

Woods: "Moreover, it cleanses from sin, not merely solely the conscience, but sin (amartias), all sin, whether of thought, word, or deed, rash sins, sins of ignorance, of malice, of omission or commission, sins of the flesh, sins of the disposition, sins of pleasure or of pain, sins of every type and kind committed at any time or place."  1

Justin Peters gives a comprehensive exposition of the Greek phrase ἀνθρώποις εὐδοκία/εὐδοκίας in Luke 2:14. Brian (Faith on Fire) has some very questionable views at times.{1} Even Calvin did not relate this verse to limited atonement. 

Calvin: "Which shall be to all the people Though the angel addresses the shepherds alone, yet he plainly states, that the message of salvation which he brings is of wider extent, so that not only they, in their private capacity, may hear it, but that others may also hear. Now let it be understood, that this joy was common to all people, because, it was indiscriminately offered to all. For God had promised Christ, not to one person or to another, but to the whole seed of Abraham. If the Jews were deprived, for the most part, of the joy that was offered to them, it arose from their unbelief; just as, at the present day, God invites all indiscriminately to salvation through the Gospel, but the ingratitude of the world is the reason why this grace, which is equally offered to all, is enjoyed by few. Although this joy is confined to a few persons, yet, with respect to God, it is said to be common. When the angel says that this joy shall be to all the people, he speaks of the chosen people only; but now that, the middle wall of partition" (Ephesians 2:14) has been thrown down, the same message has reference to the whole human race. [149] For Christ proclaims peace, not only, to them that are nigh, "but to them that are, far off," (Ephesians 2:17,) to "strangers" (Ephesians 2:12) equally with citizens. But as the peculiar covenant with the Jews lasted till the resurrection of Christ, so the angel separates them from the rest of the nations." {2} 

Peters continues to quote John 6:37-39 and he asserts that no amount of hermeneutical gymnastics can deny that God has His elect. At the same time he argues for man's responsibility and accountability in responding to the gospel. Peters does not refer to himself as a Calvinist and yet he does not deny it either.

According to Peters, the teaching that man has no responsibility is only true of hyper-Calvinists. Peters: "Hyper Calvinists are about as rare as bigfoot. I have travelled all over the world and I have met very few, maybe a handful, maybe two or three people that are true hyper-Calvinists.." 

I do not know what planet Peters has been on, but the irrefutable teaching of Calvinism is summed up in the acronym TULIP. Many pastors/teachers promote five-point Calvinism in their churches, including Peters' hero John MacArthur. This aberrant teaching is not limited to "two or three people".

• Total depravity. Human beings are dead in their sins, and they stand justly condemned before God, unable to do anything to save themselves.

• Unconditional election. From eternity, God in his sovereignty chose specific human beings to be saved. That salvation was determined entirely by God, not simply God’s foreknowledge of who would respond to his offer of grace.

• Limited atonement. Also known as “particular redemption,” the doctrine teaches the death of Jesus Christ was intended for the remission of the sins of elect human beings only; in other words, the intention of the atonement and its effects are the same.

• Irresistible grace. Many Calvinists prefer the term “effectual calling” to express this idea—God’s call to salvation will not fail to bring about the repentance and faith of the elect.

• Perseverance of the saints. This doctrine teaches all true believers in Christ will be saved because God grants them faith to persist to the end of life, and God will keep them safe.

Why does Peters think that Calvinism is so very controversial and that it is responsible for causing numerous church splits and pain to countless believers? 

Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” At this, the Jews began to grumble about Jesus because He had said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” They were asking, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can He say, ‘I have come down from heaven?’”“Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus replied. “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:37-44).

Soteriology 101: "There are two basic ways to interpret this passage and it hinges on the words “draws” and “them.” Let’s look at the two renderings side by side:
Calvinists: 'No man can come to me unless the Father who sent me *drags* him, and I will raise up *him who was dragged* at the last day.'
Traditionalists: 'No man can come to me unless the Father who sent me *enables* him, and I will raise up *him who comes* at the last day.'
The Greek sentence structure allows for the author to be referencing 'them' who come, not necessarily all those drawn. For instance if the sentence translated in English were structured in this manner the intention might be more obvious:
'Only those drawn by the Father may come, and I will raise up them (those that come) at the last day..'” {3}

I recently recommended a video by Brian (Faith on Fire) in which he rejected Calvinism. {1} While I agree with Brian about Calvinism, I have a number of concerns about some other aspects of his teaching. In the above video, Brian accuses Justin Peters of preaching "works-based salvation" due to a statement he made about faith plus repentance. I absolutely reject the tenets of Calvinism as outlined in TULIP. Nevertheless, faith and repentance is not a false doctrine. Several scriptures demonstrate that faith and repentance are two sides of the same coin and are essential components of salvation. Those who teach faith alone do not take into account all that the scriptures say on this subject. The sum of your word is truth. (Psalm 119 160).

Justin Peters: "The only way to be saved is to repent of your sin, turn from your sin, and turn to the risen Lord Jesus Christ." (14:00 mark) 

A number of false teachers such as Steven Anderson, Jeff Durbin, Bill Weise etc. teach that repentance is not required for salvation. It is very concerning that Brian (Faith on Fire) has bought into this false doctrine. Faith alone minus repentance essentially changes the gospel message and wrongly divides the word of truth resulting in a different gospel. (2 Corinthians 11:14 cf. 2 Timothy 2:15). People do not come to faith in a vacuum - there is a critical reason why people put their trust in Jesus Christ. It sounds very "spiritual" to categorize repentance as a "work" and to look down on those who teach repentance as legalistic. Works-based salvation is the heretical doctrine that we must do certain good deeds in order to merit salvation. Repentance i.e. turning away from sin involves an inward change i.e. a change of heart rather than an outward observance. 

Strongs: repent = metanoeó: to change one's mind or purpose. {2} 

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10).

And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: (John 16:8).

..and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15). 

So they went out and proclaimed that people should repent. (Mark 6:12).

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17).

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3,5).

..and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47).

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.. (Acts 17:30).

The conversion of the Philippian jailer and his household: "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. (Acts 16:30-33). The conversation did not end at verse 31 .they spoke the word of the Lord to him and his household  i.e. Paul and Timothy elucidated the gospel message in detail to the Philippian jailer and his household, no doubt fully explaining the need for faith and repentance.     

Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. (Acts 2:37-41). 

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.. (Acts 3:19).

God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:31).

When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.” (Acts 11:18).

And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’ (Acts 22:16).

 

And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.. (Hebrews 5:9).

Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.. (Hebrews 6:1). 

Repentance and faith is foundational.

Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. (Matthew 3:8 cf. Luke 3:8). The fruit of repentance is works i.e. the outward actions are the result of the inward reality of repentance. Believers are enabled to do good works through faith by His power. (2 Thessalonians 1:11). Conversely, works done in the flesh are not acceptable to God. 

..but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance. (Acts 26:20. A distinction is made between repentance and deeds that follow repentance. 

But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.(James 2:18). Works are a demonstration of genuine faith and repentance. Repentance and faith lead to obedience. 

Given the scriptural evidence, how can anyone deny faith and repentance?

Repentance is not an optional extra as some teach, it is an absolute necessity. Faith without repentance may be an appealing message, but it produces false converts and is counterproductive. Easy believism refers to the practice of simply praying a superficial prayer to receive Jesus without the conviction of sin resulting in genuine saving faith.

Justin Peters goes into great detail about Benny Hinn's false teachings, his dishonest methods, and the steps he should take in order to truly repent. While I agree that Benny Hinn is a blatant wolf, it is disconcerting that Justin Peters has not bothered to respond to the accusation of dishonesty against himself regarding his association with JD Hall! {1}

Following the ill-conceived discussion between Chris Rosebrough, Phil Johnson and Justin Peters on the 7th of July regarding the arrest and public disgrace of JD Hall, the silence has been deafening. {2} The double standards of these three "watchmen" really is something to behold. Hall was arrested on the 11th of May for DUI, and the later charges of domestic violence with a weapon and embezzlement. Both the embezzlement and domestic violence allegations are under police investigation according to the Sidney Police Department. {3}

In February, Hall declared bankruptcy after being sued for libel by Adrian Jawort, a transgender native lobbyist who alleges that an article about her damaged her reputation. {4} According to his attorney, Hall was discharged from bankruptcy on June 8th. It has also been confirmed that Hall has purchased his estate back for $40,000. It is puzzling how Hall came up with $40,000 considering his reported cash assets of just $24. {5}

The full extent of Hall's empire has been reported in The Montana Freepress:

"The bankruptcy also opened a window into Hall’s otherwise opaque financial world. In documents filed with the court, he reported ownership of Gideon Knox, the umbrella company behind Hall’s business ventures, and “various websites,” a 10% stake in Real Montana News LLC, and total ownership of a federally licensed, appointment-only arms dealer called Black Robe Rifles. He reported owning more than a dozen guns, four cars, an ATV and two trailers. His assets totaled $190,969, against $533,144 in reported liabilities. Fellowship Baptist Church, which owned part of his house in Sidney, paid him a gross salary of $4,250 monthly.." {5}

Justin Peters' dishonesty

Perhaps Justin Peters would like to explain this "discrepancy" for the benefit of those of us who have questioned his impartiality and his ability to tell the truth?

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (Ephesians 5:11).

It is likely that a number of people in Sydney Montana are rejoicing and praising the Lord following the arrest of JD Hall on the 11th of May for DUI, and the later charges of domestic violence with a weapon and embezzlement. Hall is no longer listed as the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sydney, Montana, and he has been removed from the staff of Protestia (originally Pulpit & Pen).

It is difficult to comprehend the attitude of Chris Rosebrough, Phil Johnson and Justin Peters during the above "discussion" dated 7th of July. This video appeared to me to be a blatant attempt to block others from publicly evaluating Hall's "ministry". The seriousness of the accusations against Hall does not warrant the accusation of "gloating" or "gossiping" against those who have ventured to express their views publicly. Does Justin Peters claim to know the intentions of the heart? (Hebrews 4:12). Someone who sets themselves up as a pastor with a public profile should be tested biblically and should be held accountable and publicly exposed. (1 John 4:1). It is pertinent to point out that the discussion is not limited exclusively to Rosebrough and his cronies, and that others do actually have the right to discuss and question Hall's "ministry", particularly in light of recent events. Isn't this precisely what these three "watchmen" do in cases that do not involve their own particular clique? Was Paul gossiping about the problem at Corinth? (1 Corinthians 5:1). The church should operate in an atmosphere of complete integrity and openness, especially when things go wrong. 

Our three "watchmen" described how they had implored and admonished Hall on multiple occasions privately regarding his "pugnacious" attitude. Phil Johnson compared Hall to the infamous pastor, J Frank Norris, who shot and killed an unarmed man in his office in 1927. {1}  Rosebrough, Johnson and Peters obviously recognized how dangerous Hall was, both spiritually and physically, and yet they decided to limit their actions to private admonitions!

In such a dire situation it would have been appropriate to put some sort of plan into place. Although the JD Hall situation did not fit the guidelines in Matthew 18, it would have been wise to set up a meeting and remonstrate with Hall as a group. After that, it would have been appropriate to approach Hall's church elders. I believe that this step would have been futile at that time, but at least it would have demonstrated their concerns. According to Micah Hershberger, Hall fired the elders of Fellowship Bible Church in 2014 as a result of their attempts to hold him accountable following the suicide of Braxton Caner. {2} It appears that during 2014, Fellowship Independent Church quickly degenerated into a church with an unhealthy pattern of leadership. In other words, Hall allegedly appointed yes-men as elders, and FBC was effectually transformed into an autocracy. As such, any attempt to hold Hall accountable would have been futile prior to recent events. 

The last step would have been for our three "watchmen" to warn the body of Christ publicly about Hall on their platforms instead of turning a blind eye and essentially propping him up. Paul did not hesitate to publicly call out Peter, his fellow apostle, when he was in error and in danger of damaging the body of Christ. (Galatians 2:11-14). It appears that different criteria apply to many discernment ministries where their own camp is concerned. Given Hall's aberrant behaviour and his alleged arsenal of weapons, it is clear that the concerns of Phil Johnson that Hall posed a life-threatening hazard to others was no exaggeration. How then can we explain his reticence to sound the alarm? (Ezekiel 33:6).

If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, regard him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. (Matthew 18:16-17).

To add to the reticence of these "watchmen" to publicly expose Hall as an extremely dangerous man, we are also faced with further difficulties regarding the dishonesty of Justin Peters. Peters' rightly exposes all kinds of dishonesty and lies amongst false teachers, but apparently the rules do not apply to him! We now have to try to make sense of his own dishonesty in falsely stating that he had not publicly connected with Hall for "several years". I have given Justin Peters the benefit of the doubt on previous occasions, particularly regarding the Doreen Virtue incident. It should have been clear to both Rosebrough and Peters that Doreen Virtue had no business seamlessly switching her New Age platform to a Christian "ministry", including detailed accounts of her dubious vision of Jesus, both online and in her book. {4} Rosebrough and Peters' managed to bring some correction to Doreen Virtue, but the whole mess could have been avoided if they had done their due diligence and acted wisely instead of making excuses for yet another Calvinist. 

We have heard nothing further from our three "watchmen" regarding Hall since their attempt to close down the discussion on the 7th of July. Does this mean that they will follow the pattern of other hirelings who choose to ignore troublesome issues hoping that they will go away? The sin of partiality is very serious, particularly for those claiming to operate discernment ministries. (Proverbs 24:23). This is especially relevant considering their wholesale condemnation of Word-Faith NAR prosperity teachers and other heretics. (James 3:1). If we can’t take the plank out of our own eye, then we have no chance of addressing the errors of others. (Matthew 7:5). 

But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. (1 Corinthians 11:31).
