ADAM SIMMONDS PCC NORTHAMPTONSHIRE - GOOD GUY OR VILLAIN?

No Mr Bond, I expect you to die!.....

It hasn't escaped my notice that Adam Simmonds has an uncanny resemblance to a villain in a James Bond film! Perhaps his critics could convince him to change career - I'm sure it would be very lucrative and there are many who would say how suited to the role he is! On a more serious note, perhaps Simmonds is not far from playing that role in reality!

Why are critical comments about Adam Simmonds PCC Northamptonshire being deleted from news provider, the Northampton Chronicle and Echo? Not only that, but I find that my own posts about Simmonds are not showing up on search engines as they should!! Last year, Simmonds deleted two of my posts about Trinity Life Church (TLC) in Leicester (Simmonds is the Director and Trustee of TLC which is a Pentecostal Assemblies of God denomination). I had quite a battle trying to prove that the removal of my posts by Simmonds was an illegal action. I believe the reason I failed was because I do not have Simmonds powerful connections!

My complaint against Adam Simmonds was “considered” by the toothless Northamptonshire Police & Crime Panel (PCP). One of the statutory functions of the PCP is to deal with complaints about Simmonds conduct, and yet they have absolutely “no investigatory powers” i.e. they are impotent to investigate any complaints about his conduct. The Government Ombudsman are also toothless since they cannot change the system that exists for scrutiny of a PCC – they can only look at the way the current system has been implemented. The irony of the whole ludicrous facade is that no body set up to hold Simmonds accountable has the power to actually investigate his actions. This makes Adam Simmonds effectively unanswerable!!!

Last year I wrote personally to the editor David Summers exploring certain reasons why my posts had been deleted. I never received a reply. We know from my recent FOIA request that the OPCC has requested removal of content from the said site. I don't believe peoples opinions regarding an elected representative should be censored. Do you?
Over the course of the next few weeks I intend to investigate this matter further, starting with this FOIA request I sent a few days ago:
Under the provisions of the FOIA I would like to request the following information:
1) How many times has the OPCC requested messages removed that were posted onto the Chronicle and Echo on line 'have your say' forum by Justin BROWN?
2) The rationale for these requests if any were made
3) Have the OPCC retained a copy of any such messages? How are they stored and for what purpose?

Like many other folk I have had comments posted onto the on line version of the Chronicle and Echo removed in relation to Adam Simmonds. I have had no notification as to the reason why despite writing to the editor personally seeking clarification. From my previous FOIA request to the OPCC we know Simmonds office has requested the removal of such comments. I have submitted a new FOIA request to the OPCC seeking answers, along with a request to Facebook asking why posts on this forum are now being censored.

This situation is extremely concerning because democracy and freedom of expression are being seriously compromised - BUT WHY? The strength of feeling against Simmonds from many members of the general public is astonishing and Justin Brown's concerns are very valid. The right to freedom of expression and the right to peaceful protest are crucial in a democracy – information and ideas help to inform political debate and are essential to public accountability and transparency in Government. This is something glaringly absent from Simmonds regime in Northamptonshire. What a terrible witness to the people of Northamptonshire who have first hand experience of Simmonds' autocracy and his heretical version of ecumencial Christianity.

Justin Brown is planning to stand for election as an independent councillor at the next local elections (Obelisk Ward). I do hope and pray that the voters of Northampton have enough insight and wisdom to vote for Justin. 
 
From my own point of view, I believe that Simmonds autocracy is a complete scandal and absolutely unacceptable. We are not yet part of the authoritarian New World Order/One World Government prophesied in the Bible, but I am sure when it does arrive, Simmonds will fit in perfectly well with his new boss the Antichrist. He will have just a short time, three and a half years actually, and then it will all be over!!!!! It makes me wonder whether Simmonds and is cronies at TLC have really considered the eventual consequences of their actions (Revelation 17/16).

VICTORY OUTREACH NETHERLANDS UPDATE

I have previously written three posts concerning the questionable regime at Victory Outreach International (VOI) at Arnhem in the Netherlands which was run by so called "Pastor" Wilfred Dijksteel along with his wife Elia. My previous posts focused on the alleged abuse suffered by ex-resident Rene Van Beek. Rene suffered a head injury resulting in brain damage after an incident where he claims that he was thrown down a flight of stairs at the home at Arnhem. Described as an evil cult by many people, VOI at Arnhem closed down about two years ago amid rumours of unpaid bills and doubts about its values and principles.

Things have progressed for Rene since my last post. He now has a solicitor and is taking legal action along with another couple who also claim to have been abused by VOI. Despite all his difficulties, Rene's faith is strong and he is looking to the Lord. I do ask my Christian readers to continue to pray for his full recovery and for closure over the terrible things that have happened to him at the hands of the Dijksteels. These two wolves in sheeps' clothing masqueraded as servants of the Lord whilst exploiting the vulnerable residents of VOI. Rene's issues are very typical of many similar testimonies coming from ex-residents of Victory Outreach UK in Cwmbran Wales. Details can be found on Neville Stephens' website: http://ziontalywain.blogspot.co.uk/ I believe that the inherant weakness of VOI and VOUK is that the managers of the homes have direct access to the state benefits of residents. This situation creates an opening for unscrupulous opportunists and facilitates the kind of abuse we have been hearing so much about. In addition, there does not appear to be any demonstrable accountability of those who run VOI and VOUK, even in the face of many voiced concerns and complaints.

A case in point is Andy Valdez who was the Regional Overseer for Britain and Ireland until being disfellowshipped and excommunicated from VOI on November 24th 2014. Rene has recently been in contact with the son of Wilfred and Elia Dijksteel -Wilfred Dijksteel Junior, who has some very unhappy memories from his childhood and some further details about Rene's belongings. Both Rene and Wilfred Junior have given permission for me to post these details below in their own words. I apologise for the poor translation. I do not know Dutch and Rene is struggling to translate because of his disability. I have not altered the text very much as I do not want to change the original meaning of their words. If there are any readers out there who can translate from Dutch to English I would be very grateful for some help in this respect.

Wilfred Dijksteel Junior: "Most of what you sent I had read on the internet.

I feel very strongly about what happened to you. In fact it is impossible to express in words. I was really shocked when I read it. I did not expect it, but simultaneously I thought it did not sound unlikely and my eyes were opened a little further."

Rene: "I was not allowed to smoke (even outside) and all I did was wear black glasses to prevent being watched. Everything I did I got a scolding and a scripture that they had supposedly received from God about me…..I was told that Satan was involved and I was a big sinner fit for nothing!"

Wilfred Dijksteel Junior: "Story of my life. I was nothing that made their world. Do not smoke, do not drink, no radio, much on TVcould also not be considered, should not rush out, no friends who do not go to church and so on. You become so secluded from society so that you only know their truth. You can see that when newcomers being snatched from their family and friends because they are worldly.
 
We were neglected by my parents and brainwashed. When I was young, I was not aware of the evil behind Victory Outreach. Should it be your mother and father which will do the best for you? not so. I have many scars on my soul from when I was young. I am not placed in an institution such as Esther posted on the internet, but I have sought help."

Rene: "When I said I was pushed off the back they said it was only imagination, because I had just stumbled !!!" 

Wilfred Dijksteel Junior: "Very recognizable. Every time I aked a question of Elia asking for an explanation she replied 'another evil ex-homie or a 'church goer' at the door. Those people are crazy they have many problems. They are sick. They want money.'

I had questions always because we saw the two faces of my parents. Church for me was one big charade. The sick thing is that they seek out the weakest of society as a victim. and just prefer drug addicts with criminal records etc. etc. because who would believe a booty? upright? earlier, an addict or a "church" with beautiful words?"

Rene: "What they can properly print money back and personal belongings."

Wilfred Dijksteel Junior: "I saw your stuff with my parents in the barn and Elia wanted me to throw it all away because it was 'rubbish'. I then looked in the box and saw pictures of you. And thought, this is not a mess who throws good photos away? I have not touched the stuff. You do not personally kennede? or your residence and nothing to do with wanting Hebbe that cult. I said that they themselves but shed but empty up that stuff is not supposed to throw away and to give back to you. I find it really sad that this has not happened.

Not only people in the 'church' word defrauded cunning money. family is simply deceived and manipulated. Father and Mother for me now nothing more than words. The word son never meant anything to them. As a child I saw all the things the homies (residents) had to do - bible, pray, flyers, church setting, and sweeping dismantling weather etc. They were just slaves. The see homies as slaves and income."

Rene: "They somehow had my data applied for benefits."
 
Wilfred Dijksteel Junior: "They managed to bring beautiful things in organizations because they are a "church" and help people. if that fails is just committed fraud.
She has also tried to earn money on my state of mind when the time. (A mental state that was developed by them) they wanted to catch money under the guise of therapy. I do not agree with that.

Rene: "It damn difficult is evident after my complaint to the police ... namely that they don’t do anything."

Wilfred Dijksteel Junior: "I was also there and was aangeken and treated like I'm a moron.
for what can a church do now wrong."

during those "holidays" for the world conference. Elia and Wilfred were getting jewellery from them every time they went to America + -5K. While they are our same vacation just starved. Often forests as children disagree on holiday but had to. because the outward semblance of course had to remain high.
When I was physically strong enough, I got the courage to say that I would not go to church from that day. At that time I was equally pushed/thrown in my room, and I was told that if I did not go out of the house to go to church. I am therefore when I was 18 as the house went out. Since I was only in the outside world. After my whole youth being brainwashed, not how the world really works. With all its consequences.
Every month, there was again a new purpose for which they asked for money in the church. begging for cars so they could move the homies.themselves easier but cars never came. And so on.

Pope Francis' further erosion of the Word of God at the expense of "love and justice".

Pope Francis has lamented the case of Christians who are so attached to the laws that they neglect the concepts of love and justice. The pope reflected on how love and justice are the path to Christ rather than "an excessive attachment to the laws."  He recalled how Jesus described the Pharisees as "hypocrites" for criticising him behind his back after he healed a sick man on the Sabbath. "This way of living attached to laws, distanced them from love and from justice.... They were closed minded men, who knew the letter of the law but were always closing the doorway to hope, to love and to salvation..... The path towards being faithful to the laws without neglecting justice and love is the opposite one, from love to integrity. from love to discernment from love to the laws. This is the path that Jesus teaches us, totally opposite to that of the doctors of the law, and it is the path from love and justice that leads to God. instead the other path of being attached only to the laws leads to egoism, the arrogance of  considering onseself to be always in the right.  Jesus said to these people 'You like to be seen by the people as men of prayer and of fasting' and it is for this reason that Jesus tells the people 'do what they say, but do not do what they do.'"

The definiton of "Pharisee":

1.  "A member of an ancient Jewish sect, distinguised by strict observance of the traditional and written law, and commonly held to have pretensions to superior sanctity."

Jesus Christ's clashes with the Pharisees DID NOT concern the written law; he objected to their man made traditions- they teach as doctrine the commandments of men (Matthew 15/9). The Pharisees oral traditions were at variance with the written law - the Pharisees broke the commandment of God for the sake of their own tradition. The practice of adding to or taking away from the Word of God is expressly forbidden in the scriptures:

You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you. (Deuteronomy 4/2, see also 12/32; Proverbs 30/6; Revelation 22/18-19)

The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever. (Psalm 119/160).

The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; (Psalm 19/7)

The idea that mere human beings can add or subtract anything to/from the flawless word of God is extremely dangerous, and yet this is what many foolish people have done in the guise of "spirituality" throughout history. The Roman Catholic Church are one of the main offenders in this respect; they have added their tradition to the Word of God for centuries - they are infested with tradition! The term "Pharisee" is applicable to them more than anyone!

10 Unscriptural Basic Catholic Doctrines

From the 1994 Catechism of the Catholic Church

• The Roman Catholic Church teaches that it is the only source of salvation for sinners. Pope Francis recently reiterated this lie. The Bible teaches that salvation is achieved by the merits of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
• Roman Catholics are taught that only the Catholic Church can forgive sins. The Bible teaches that forgiveness comes directly from God through faith in Christ, not through church membership or sacraments. 
• Catholics believe the lie that Baptism saves, hence their practice of infant baptism. Water baptism saves no-one. Salvation must precede water baptism.
• Popes are infallible. The truth is only God is infallible, all men are corrupt. 
• Roman Catholic Priests and Leaders are infallible. 
• Roman Catholic Sacraments are essential for salvation. The seven sacraments are baptism, penance, the Eucharist, confirmation, matrimony, holy orders and anointing of the sick (also known as extreme unction). No-one is saved by sacraments, salvation is through faith in Christ alone.
• The Roman Catholic Church is the only correct interpreter of Scriptural doctrine. The Holy Spirit is the only Interpreter man needs. 
• Transubstantiation: According to the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, the bread and the wine used in the sacrament of the Eucharist become (not merely as by a sign or a figure), but in actual reality the body and blood of Christ. This unbiblical idolatrous blasphemy is taken from Babylonian sun worship.
• The Eucharist keeps from sin. Only genuine repentance and faith in Christ takes away sin.
• The Virgin Mary is a co-redeemer and saviour. This hideous blasphemy inserts Mary into the Trinity.

The example Pope Francis gives is the Pharisees objection to Jesus Christ healing a sick man on the sabbath. These sabbath disputes were at the very centre of the Pharisaic hatred of Jesus Christ, because they concentrated the worst puerilities and formalisms around the ordiance of the Sabbath around the Oral Law. Jesus Christ asked the Pharisees the question:“Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?” But they remained silent. (Luke 14/3-4). They could not say it was unlawful because the law did not forbid it.

Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,“Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? (Matthew 15/1-3) 

For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly, holding to the tradition of the elders; (Mark 7/3) 

For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God. You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:

“‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”  

(Matthew 15/3-9) 

Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land. (Deuteronomy 5/16; Ephesians 6/2)
 

Love and Justice were at the heart of the Mosaic law. The law required that a son should honor his parents. This meant among other things that he should provide economic support for parents' when they were old and in distress. Jesus Christ's objection to the practice known as korban (a thing dedicated to the service of God), violated the fifth commandment. In contradiction to the law of God, the Jewish teachers said that it was more important for a man to dedicate his property to God than to provide for the needs of his parents. Their tradition created distress and injustice. The wording "need not honour his father" is a specific contradiction of Exodus 20/12 and Deuteronomy 5/16. This practice encouraged the abuse of the elderly in depriving them of vital support. Paul the apostle also emphasised the importance of caring for ones needy relatives:

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5/8) 

Jesus Christ: "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?" (John 5/47-48)  
It is clear from this statement that the Pharisees did not believe Moses! 

Jesus Christ: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. The Old Testament Law was abrogated by Jesus Christ 2000 years ago through the New Covenant. There should be little doubt about this fact as there are numerous references to it in the Bible: Romans 13/8-9; 3/21; 7/6; 1/:8; 13/10; 2 Corinthians.3/5-6; 3/13-16; Galatains 2/12; 3/2-3; 3/5; 3/10-11; 3/19; 3/23-25; 4/31; 5/2-4; 5/18; Ephesians 2/15; 3/4-5; Philippians 3/8-9; Colossians.2/14; 2/16; 2/20; Hebrews 8/7-8; 10/20.

The Law of Christ: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22/37-40) 

.....yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. (Galatians 2/16)  

If you love me, you will keep my commandments. (John 14/15)

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. THE TEST OF SCRIPTURE IS VITAL

The serpent said to Eve "Did God really say....." (Genesis 3/1) in order to undermine the truth of God's Word. The spirit of antichrist continually seeks to undermine the Word of God and deceive people into accepting a lie. This was Paul's concern for the Corinthian Church: But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. (2 Corinthians 11/3) The Bible is our point of reference; we need to thoroughly to examine all doctrines by the test of Scripture. The Roman Catholic Church miserably fails that test.

Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. (Acts 17/11)

Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5/20-21)

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4/1)

DAVID HIND'S MONTHLY LETTER - ITS ALL ABOUT ME AT TLC! TRINITY LIFE CHURCH LEICESTER

I have written about the Assemblies of God in Leicester more than a few times over the last twelve months and I continue to be shocked and disturbed by the antics of David Hind. I tremble to think what he will do next and I often wonder how low he will continue to sink into apostasy. I now write to focus in on his monthly letter for January 2015 which reads like a transcript of a worldly celebrity A-list event which gives thanks and honour to certain elite VIP’s! EIGHTH - YES EIGHTH on the list God does get a brief mention - absurdly Hind gives thanks to God for “Open Hands” - in other words he gives credit to God for something overtly worldly which has benefited hugely from Big Lottery Funding and which has nothing to do with God at all!!

David Hind’s habit of picking out individual people to publicly honour at the expense of many others in the congregation who are perhaps equally worthy of honour is extremely unfortunate and divisive. I know in the past that this has caused pain to some people. I am surprised that no one has told David Hind how damaging this is, but as far as I am aware no one ever has. When I attended TLC, David Hind used to call particular individuals out to the front to publicly honour and endorse them. If we want to thank and praise individuals then great, but I believe that it should be done in private. Additionally David Hind has a habit of telling everyone what a "wonderful family" he has and how very blessed he is in this respect. I am glad for him if this is truly the case, but here again, he does not think of other peoples situations when he goes on and on about his "wonderful family" - and he does go on and on about them incessantly. This is another area that has caused pain to some members of the congregation, since not everyone is blessed with a “wonderful family". As a man of God (so called) it is paramount to be sensitive to the body of Christ. The apostles said very little about their private family lives. We know that Peter was married and that is all! Is Hind's sycophantic flattery of certain individuals due to insensitivity or is there a darker motive involved? For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. (1 Corinthians 4/5) Hind has built his house on the sand, not on the Rock (Matthew 7/24-27); he cannot expect God's help to support TLC and Open Hands. I do wonder whether he is trying to shore up TLC in the flesh by keeping certain people on board with flattery. If the recipients of this flattery buy into it then they are unwise. Be wary of human praise....(John 12/43)

As in my previous posts, it is important to look at the scriptures and find out what they say about this subject:

…..on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. (1 Corinthians 12/23-25)

David Hind's letter quotes Philippians 1/3: "I thank my God every time I remember you." He then proceeds to take it completely out of context in order to revere certain individuals. IN CONTEXT this letter written by the Apostle Paul is addressed TO ALL THE SAINTS at Philippi:

Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons: (notice how the overseers and deacons are mentioned after “all the saints” they are not put on a pedestal by Paul) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1/1-11)

Therefore, my brothers, (my beloved brethren -NASB) whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved. (Philippians 4/1)

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. (Romans 1/8)

Corporate greetings and thanks for the Colossian Christians: 

To God’s holy people in Colossae, the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ: 
Grace and peace to you from God our Father.
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people (Colossians 1/2-4)

We find similar INCLUSIVE statements from Paul in ALL his letters to the churches.

I will not show partiality to any man or use flattery toward any person. For I do not know how to flatter, else my Maker would soon take me away. (Job 32/21-22)

For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. (Romans 16/18)

For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. (Psalm 5/9)

My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. (James 2/1)

The Bible is noticeably reticent when it comes to the praise of men. When Paul named individuals it was usually because there were past issues to be resolved, such as the acceptance of Onesimus who was formerly "unprofitable" (Philemon 1). Euodia and Syntyche had an unknown issue which Paul was keen for them to resolve: ".....help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel." (Philippians 4). Paul said that Mark was "very useful for ministry", but Mark had previously deserted them at Pamphylia. (Acts 15/38; 2 Timothy 4/11; Colossians 4/20). 

Patriarchs and Prophets:

"The Bible has little to say in praise of men. Little space is given to recounting the virtues of even the best men who have ever lived. This silence is not without purpose; it is not without a lesson. All the good qualities that men possess are the gift of God ; their good deeds are performed by the grace of God through Christ. Since they owe all to God, the glory of whatever they are or do belongs to Him alone • they are but instruments in His hands. More than this—as all the lessons of Bible history teach—it is a perilous thing to praise or exalt men; for if one comes to lose sight of his entire dependence on God, and to trust to his own strength, he is sure to fall. Man is contending with foes who are stronger than he. . . . It is impossible for us, in our own strength, to maintain the conflict; and whatever diverts the mind from God, whatever leads to self-exaltation or to self-dependence, is surely preparing the way for our overthrow. The tenor of the Bible is to inculcate distrust of human power, and to encourage trust in divine power."— Page 717 

If you attend TLC then you have my sympathies, and if you haven't made it onto David Hind’s A-list then count yourself blessed and be encouraged because in my opinion David Hind’s assessment of others is terribly flawed. I have long since been completely immune to this kind of backhanded rejection thank God, but young believers, the lonely, the sensitive, the disenfranchised etc. may fall prey to Hind’s "insensitivity" and see themselves as second class Christians. I personally believe that flattery and partiality are destructive tactics of Satan aimed at harming downtrodden vulnerable Christians and puffing the wrong people up with the aim of causing maximum damage and division to the body of Christ! David Hind has put himself in an awful situation before the Lord Jesus Christ in very many ways, not only doctrinally, but also through his abominable treatment of those whom he supposedly has spiritual oversight!

I recently heard the Assemblies of God described as a “New Age Cult” and I must say that I agree with that definition. During the last twelve months, we have seen the formation of the One World Religion taking shape before our very eyes. Some of those aligning with the Pope are false teachers Rick Warren, Kenneth Copeland, Joel Osteen, James Robison, the Salvation Army and the Lutheran Federation. I am not giving this as a prophecy, but I have little doubt that it is just a matter of time before the Assemblies of God will join these traitors of Jesus Christ in the Roman Catholic deception. In the meantime we see the continuing slide of individual churches into apostasy and delusion.

I am unimpressed with David Hind’s A-List and you should be too. God looks upon the heart not the outward appearance (1 Samuel 16/7).

It will be very interesting to see whether the ecumenical initiative begun last year between David Hind and Churches Together goes any further. In addition the ecumenical agenda of Adam Simmonds (Director and Trustee of TLC) in his role as PCC of Northampton is extremely ominous.

"In 2007 when we first came to TLC I wanted to find a way of sharing a little bit of my heart with everyone in the church each month. This led to this monthly letter and this, I think, is the 82^nd letter I have written. As we enter a new year I still want to share a bit of myself with you each month so I am going to carry on – if, however, you would rather receive it by email please let us know. Here we go…

On the pilgrimage of life, it is easy to take for granted those for whom you are so grateful. We probably all have family, friends and those who make our lives easier and better. Susan and I are surrounded by people we love. A brilliant team, fantastic campus pastors, an army of leaders, a great church and many leader friends in the city. Allow me please to pause and thank a few:

I am grateful to Doug Lance who led me to Jesus nearly 30 years ago. As an American missionary serving with the Navigators he was used by God to present the cross to me and my need to repent, experience grace and a new start in life. Those few moments on a Saturday morning in November 1985 are the most precious of my life.

I am grateful for my wonderful family. For the last 9 months we have all lived in the same house together. This has meant learning to be less territorial, more considerate for others’ needs rather than your own and patience with the rigours of community life.  As this phase of our lives comes to an end and Tom and Philippa, and our beautiful granddaughters Annabelle and Rosie move into their own house, Susan and I are grateful for the journey. Every moment has been precious and worth it. That my two sons love God is the most wonderful thing they could ever give to me.

I am grateful to the TLC chair of trustees Colin Jewitt and the coordinator of our elders James Prestwich. Colin is my confidant and a man whose perspective and heart I deeply respect. He is honest with me, about me and to me and I am stronger because of it. James has now worked with me for almost 7 years. He is a rock, my friend and a person of deep integrity who hold my hands up. My life is better with him in it.

I am grateful for my friend Andy Upton, the lead pastor of Knighton Free Church. I have always appreciated Andy’s love of the Bible and his humble heart, willing to listen, learn and give. Knighton’s partnership with Open Hands continues to bless me. They pray for us, invest financially with us and continue to encourage members to serve in Open Hands. This has always been a huge encouragement to me and Andy is at the forefront of this and I am grateful.

I am grateful for Brian and Marge Niblock who have given the best example I have ever seen of how to handle succession in senior leadership. For seven years they have stood on the front row, cheering us on, praying for us, serving wherever they can and speaking with love, honesty and encouragement. They are fantastic people and we love them dearly.

I am grateful to Phil Pye, the area leader of 150+ Assemblies of God churches in the midlands area, of which we are one. He is a lover of the Bible, a pastor of people and passionate about the Church. I get to sit with him regularly to work through the joys and challenges of church life and I am always strengthened by him. He will be speaking at our TLC together celebration on the 4^th January.

I am grateful for my friend Samuel Munai – the leader of All Nations Church in Kenya. In a community so materially poor, he is building a church and community rich with grace and compassion. I am inspired by his vision, strengthened by his relationship with me and encouraged that together we are making a difference with so many lives in the Mukuru slum in Nairobi.

I am grateful to God for the privilege of having Open Hands at the heart of our community. Watching over 100 people being served Christmas dinner on Tuesday 16^th December at our Compassion Unit reminded me that my life is better because of Open Hands. At the end of another year when thousands of people have been loved, helped, accepted, offered prayer and given practical help through Open Hands reminds me that being Jesus hands and feet is a privilege and I am grateful.

I am also grateful for a vision which carries the heart of God and a church that is willing to step out into the uncomfortable to fulfil the plan of God. Our best days are ahead.

And around your life, perhaps there are people for whom you are grateful. Why not write to them, ring them up, speak to them and let them know that you are encouraged by their love, inspired by their faith or simply that your life is better because they are in it.

On January 4^th we are all together at All Nations at 4pm and we are asking everyone who possibly can to be there. Big Picture Sunday will be different this year but we will still be bringing around 200 areas of TLC and laying them down. We will pray a simple prayer again “Lord be the heart of our church, if anything is on this table and you love it, please bless it more, if anything is here that shouldn’t be here anymore, remove it and if there is anything not here that is precious to you please add it this year. Jesus, be the centre of our lives and our church, Amen.” Do all you can to join us on the 4^th January – it’s important.

Straight afterwards, at All Nations Centre, is ‘Prayer for Leicestershire’. Along with 8 other churches, we have called as many people as possible from any church over the county of Leicestershire to come and pray. At 7.30pm, we will join with them to pause and bring the 1 million people who live in Leicestershire to Jesus. We would love as many of you as are able to stay after our together celebration and join other leaders and Christians from around Leicestershire. What better way to start the New Year than by calling together in unity on the Only One who can truly make a difference to this city and county?
